I'm happy with him coming in, a real handful on his day so hopefully Powell can get the best out of him.

FFS give the guy a chance. Welcome to Huddersfield if you are reading this. Lovely to see such great positivity from this most positive of posters... Oh hang on " Please get rid of CP now. As soon as I heard the team - no Butterfield Scanell on the bench the writing was on the wall. We go 1-0 down & he gives Lolley 4 minutes. Just resign and get back to London asap

Miller will add strenth to the forward line, and could be a good strike partner for either Wells or Vaughan . What town clearly lacked on Saturday against Leeds was an end product on the end of those Scannell and Bunn crosses. Millers strenths would also allow him to play in a similar role to what Holt played when on loan at the club. I heard alot about Miller when he played for Yeovil which is in my west country tv area, and surely will be up for a new challenge given the opportunity. What most town fans are looking for is a new hero, and this guy has plenty left in him at the age of 27. I wish him well .

I think you are right about what he offers. However, the problem against Leeds was that we didn't create enough chances.

Got to give him a chance but surely signing for Town is the "kiss of death" for anyone. A striker with 7 clubs in 8 years? One unwanted by the worst club in Championship memory? Looks like a "lets try and stay up" stop-gap to me.

If we are going to reduce numbers we will need more utility players, maybe should have kept Peltier and his good attitude and done more to get rid of Gerrard ?
Easier said than done I guess.

By "shrewd business", I presume you mean cost cutting, which seems to have been the club's main aim this window. It won't be too shrewd if we get relegated with our increasingly smaller and weaker squad. I think it is shrewd. In fact all this window's business has been very shrewd indeed. We have got rid of a lot of players deemed surplus to requirements in the desperate January window, saving ££££££'s in the process that can be put towards well planned, well priced acquisitions in the summer. People who will strengthen the first team like wells, coady, Robinson and Butterfield. We've spent years wasting ££££££'s on players bench warming. This window and last summer marks an excellent change in approach that will pay dividends. Great work from the club. Last summer? Sorry last summer and excellent change in approach by the club is complete rubbish. (I want to use a swear word but it's a tad early) The deadwood should have been cut loose in the summer Robins included. The club underminded him when they sacked all his back room staff. Any manager worth their salt would have resigned at that point because the writing was on the wall. Instead what the board did was let Robins give Danny Ward a contract extension and bring in Peltier to add to the already growing list of bench warmer's. We brought in 3 first team players in the last window in Butterfield (for Clayton), Coady (for Norwood), and Hudson because it was obvious we've needed a decent centre back for years. We could and should have cleared out the rest of the unwanted senior squad players last summer, but for some mysterious reason we persevered with the squad and manager. To me that isn't excellent work from the club it's very very poor. And to be honest led to this season being a write off now. We'll sign loan players to see us over the line to safety (hopefully) then give Powell reign in the transfer market in the summer. Or at least that's what I'm hoping the board do, but I can not agree with your post about last summer being good for the club it was downright shoddy.

I think it is astute business. Low risk but could be a good player
He clearly has ability but for some reason hasn't delivered recently. A short term deal means he has to give his all and if he does we will take up the year option. A focused and committed Miller is an asset for any Championship side
Ball in his court, you feel if he doesn't do well for Town his next move will be down the divisions - and Miller will know that better than anyone

Tall / experienced / defensive - need to be one of those to sign for Powell as a minimum! At Town he has tended to sign big experienced established pros but give him time. At Charlton he debuted and played regularly players like Poyet, Cousins and Harriott. Who are small (all under 6 foot) inexperienced and attacking If Holmes knuckled down I'm sure Powell would play him as Harriott is just as small (maybe smaller) and CP had faith in him

I'm as positive as the next guy, but if we started positive only threads this place would be as insipid as anything. Surely there can be 2 differing points of view on every subject which encourages debates. If this board turned into a 'Ra Ra everything is great at Town' board then i'd be one of the first to leave. Think you'll be here for life then mate!
