We absolutely have to have an adequate replacement lined up for if we do lose Clayton. Our powder puff midfield would be trampled all over without him and we cannot make the same mistakes of the past when not replacing players. It seems every club of a similar size or smaller in this league are spending way beyond their means to ensure they stay up. I'm not saying we should do that but we absolutely must start holding on to our better players otherwise we are going to be left way behind. correct

We need to be much more savvy in the market Wellll we got a lot of money for Hunt. Good money some might say. That the loan signing wasn't great is a separate issue. Re Clayton, you can get as het up about it as you like, if he wants out, with a year on his deal, he will leave. If he wants to sit tight and ride out his contract, then he will do that. At the end of the day the players have all the power and that will be the case no matter how much you jump up n down about it

Adam Clayton wants to stay no doubt, obviously the club want him to also but on a longer term deal...Clayts may be eyeing a lucrative move next summer but obviously Town want him under contract to maximise his value. A lot of posturing going off at present...do we sell now or let him see out his deal ?? what would you do if it was your money?

if the suggestion is true ie boro wanting clayton what do town do?. He is in the last year of his contract so he can run it down and leave on a free.. He can sign a extended contract if he is offered one or town can cash in now. Boro know that town wont want him to go on a free so can offer less than is value to get him. Dont know what will happen but its up to town now in what direction they take. But the player is in the stronghest position now. if he doesnt want to stay it weakens towns position. Time will tell Sell him then we can use the money to pay extortionate wages to the numerous journeyman ex players that we'll be able to sign.

boro..? would be a sideways move for him. surely we should be able to compete with them for wages, given he's one of if not our best players? where as they will already have a few high earners..if we cant id worry...they dont have parachute payments and only a couple extra k fans the lad should sign a new contract give us another year or so and get a better move and us some brass Stays with Town and he could easily be a League 1 player worth nothing next summer with Town desperate to get big earners off the books anyway. Difficult position for him and Town. Town are not desperate to get big earners off the books. They are eager (but not desperate) to get players who are unlikely to feature in the first team off the books.

Do 'Boro have anyone we might be interested in? Given that they finished 11 points above us in the table, I would have thought they'd have somebody that'd improve our squad.

Olliewise and his shit attempts at being Superlopez were boring in May, now it's just tedious At last, someone else realises that Olliewise is this close-season's version of bigboss, clogging up threads with unfounded gossip he's probably picked up from miscellaneous websites of dubious repute that any of us could find if we were inclined so to do. No doubt his "friend" North Stand Loyal will pick up on this and accuse me of whatever.

To be fair, if DATM threads were arteries we'd have had major bypass surgery long ago.

To be fair, if DATM threads were arteries we'd have had major bypass surgery long ago. You're right there Mr. Pipe! Don't get me wrong, I fully realise that threads about transfers and the new strips are the staple diet of this time of year, and I can enjoy them as much as anyone, but transfer threads in particular quickly become dumping grounds for garbage and always seem to attract new posters that feel the need to give the impression that they're "in the know". They quickly get found out, but don't realise it.
