Olliewise and his shit attempts at being Superlopez were boring in May, now it's just tedious At last, someone else realises that Olliewise is this close-season's version of bigboss, clogging up threads with unfounded gossip he's probably picked up from miscellaneous websites of dubious repute that any of us could find if we were inclined so to do. No doubt his "friend" North Stand Loyal will pick up on this and accuse me of whatever. Friend? I'm his cousin. Your a bully, nothing more to be said.

If we cant get him to sign a new deal I reckon 2M is solid money i agree. better than gettin nowt if his contract runs out. We could be in the Premier League by the time his contract runs out!

Fair enough but last season we replaced Hunt with that pile of shite on loan from Swansea. We need to be much more savvy in the market Wellll we got a lot of money for Hunt. Good money some might say. That the loan signing wasn't great is a separate issue. Re Clayton, you can get as het up about it as you like, if he wants out, with a year on his deal, he will leave. If he wants to sit tight and ride out his contract, then he will do that. At the end of the day the players have all the power and that will be the case no matter how much you jump up n down about it just as i said when starting the post

You pick up on my comment about Olliewise but choose to overlook the comments from others concerning him. I'm no bully, never have been and never will be. I saw through Olliewise ages ago concerning the garbage he was posting, I commented on that and the pair of you did not like it. You conveniently overlook the FACT that I complemented Olliewise on a thread where he mentioned some videos about Town on You Tube, because it doesn't suit you to do so. I've contributed plenty to DATM over the years, and I've rarely got involved in any slanging match with another poster, so go to hell with your accusations of bullying NSL.

Ben and Epsom - you are both so much better than this. Just leave it now. Nobody is bullying anyone. Just let it ride.........

kamara is a wide player I think.. unless we shift scannell I think we have enough of them..
what we really need is to keep our ball playing midfielder??? I have to assume that Dean will go out on a limb to keep clayton. Sometimes you just have to pay more than you really want to. I just cant think of anyone else we could seriously replace him with given the funding and where we are as a club just at this moment..

you might be right .. but if clayton is worth 1 million plus a player then replacing him like for like is going to be difficult.
might be much better to make him an offer he cant refuse? but then you run the risk of upsetting the wages structure and other players?
difficult one if the offer is true.
in truth you can only pay someone so much to play for us at the moment, for the life of me I cant see boro busting the bank and their own wage system to get him?

think threatening him with the prospect of having to move to Middlesbrough might sharpen his mind to sign a new contract.

Be an interesting one to see how it develops in the next week or so....
Lets hope he stays or if not we have adequate replacements in place

TEZ.. adequate is a bad word to use and its an even worse eventuality. I hate adequate, it smacks of 'it will do' and it rarely does.

Does the confusion mean he's likely to ACTUALLY be versatile?? Remember Robins was happy to play Ward up top when required. Another "half a striker" could stop us having to bring in an expensive specialist to sit on the bench for 35 games.

fmuk..
its that word adequate again.. half a striker is better than none etc..
if someone wants clayton enough, make em pay through the nose as best you can and spend what you can to replace him, not just stick 'someone else' in his position. Taking part exchanges isn't the way to go, if we wanted kamara we would, I assume, have enquired about him already.. Our main priority seems to be freeing up some wages from the players that Robins showed he clearly didn't want last season.

I didn't put that word in to mean that, Its meaning meant 'as good as'... The definition explains - adequate adjective: adequate Meaning - satisfactory or acceptable in quality or quantity. So as I stated I hope MR has an eye on adequate/acceptable replacements in terms of quality for the right type of players

We absolutely have to have an adequate replacement lined up for if we do lose Clayton. Our powder puff midfield would be trampled all over without him and we cannot make the same mistakes of the past when not replacing players. It seems every club of a similar size or smaller in this league are spending way beyond their means to ensure they stay up. I'm not saying we should do that but we absolutely must start holding on to our better players otherwise we are going to be left way behind. Our midfield is very much powder puff with clayton in it. he's a great player but he's about as good at tackling as Boris Johnson. Need a big meathead in the middle regardless of if he stays or not

I agree we should keep him though, you don't get anywhere selling your best player and it sends out a crap message to the fans and rest of the players

Oscar Gobern could play a big part next season if we lose Clayton, think he could do better than Middlesbrough though. Butterfield is another name being mentioned as the swap player, not sure how good he is tbh, looks good on highlights but every player does. Hopefully we can get Clayton tied up to a new deal soon

The midfield needs beefing up with someone who is going to compliment some of the lighter players.
