With 750k and Butterfield coming our way, sorry we've had your pants down We have swapped a squad player who has rarely featured under our current manager for your player of the season for 750k. You have hardly had our pants down

If he does sign, I suggest these are worrying times for us, simply because we will then know who is really making the signings and pulling the transfer strings: not the manager!

I really hope the Clayton deal goes through but I will believe it when I see at this point. As for Butterfield, he may or may not be great, I really do not know, but I can't help feeling we need to get a Manager appointed before we sign players.

Maybe dh is selling Clayton so that some of the big name managers become interested in the job as they will have some money to spend? ATM we have no money so probably no big name managers would want to come, or dh is using the money to afford a big name manager?

We just signed Coady for 375k rising to 500k and we have not sold anyone this summer that I can remember. I really think that Robins may have been told he has to sell to raise some money but I think Hoyle would stump up some cash for a new manager even if it was only for loans this season.

Any manager who is worth his salt should be able to work with the squad we have plus a little tweak (mobile c/back) and the missing injured players back, we cannot afford a manager who wants to reconstruct the squad. All managers want to spend money because it's not their money.

Very good player for two seasons for us.
This has dragged on too long now, not doing our club any favours at all, hope it's sorted this week.

Or MAYBE...the club are being honest, and respect Robins opinion and reasoning for bringing Butterfield in, and Robins departure doesnt alter in any way shape or form what kind of players we need to bring in to improve the team or to replace those being allowed to leave. Wouldnt surprise me one bit for us to sign a striker or defender in the coming weeks under the new manager, who are players we have been "tracking for a while". Mark Robins didnt "discover" Nahki Wells.

Just confirms that it's the board not manager choosing the players....should we not be appointing a new manager first?
What manager worth his salt wants to be told who to sign....

Should we be buying and selling without a manager in place? Not saying this is a bad deal, at all, but what if the new manager doesn't rate Butterfield.....?

Dont think it really makes a huge difference to be honest - there will be 20 odd other players the new manager didnt sign either. seems the deal was too good and too far along to back out of when robins left
