The notts game is on sky now. Nice. Still no word if England will release root and ballance earlier today though. By coincidence, I've got Friday off work, so that might be nice. Want a new champions tie, my 2001 one is worn. 1/9 for the title, Yorkshire. Best hope we don't wrap it up in three days then

Best hope we don't wrap it up in three days then Believe me, I'd be happy enough reading about it in the paper. In 2001, I was in a farm shop in Lincolnshire; this family picking up leeks wondered why I'd started weeping.

Joined Yorkshire to build a reputation to help him get into the test team, didn't he? Not made that particular squad as yet.

Just need to bat and bat and bat. Spend the best part of 2 days getting into a situation where we can't lose. Let them do something daft trying to score too quickly in a desperate attempt to force a win. Tetley's and medals for tea on Friday.

Nice solid start. Almost embarassing the strength of our lineup. I honestly think we would give England a good game (if we used Root and Ballance). Lyth Lees Root Ballance Bairstow Leaning Rashid Bresnan Patterson Sidebottom Brooks Gale and Plunkett to come in. Fantastic.

Is that an all English line up? I believe they were all born in Yorkshire bar Ballance (Zimbabwe), Leaning (Bristol) and Brooks (Oxford).

Onto 158/0. Away, under huge pressure at our nearest rivals. Not sure what the pitch is like but pretty sure they'll have tried to prepare a result wicket. A stunning start.

Come on Yorkshire 320-2 at the close, pretty please. The way we're going at the moment there's every chance you could be spot on. Edit: Oh, we've just lost a wicket, Lees out for 86 with us now on 176-1, so still a bloody good start.

Currently going at around 3.4 RPO. Carry on at that rate and we'll have 4 batting bonus points by the end of the first 110 overs (we now have 2 bonus points, Notts still have 0)

Poor Nottinghamshire, finally get two wickets and they've now got Root and Ballance at the crease!
This is looking fantastic. If we can get over 500 then it will surely put paid to any chance of them winning the game.

Amazing day, how Lyth hasn't got an England call is beyond me. He's averaging over 70 this year. Bat for a couple of sessions tomorrow and the title's ours.
