For once a bloody sensible post on this subject. Totally agree - all this garbage about not been able to find replacements. Have a look at scorers in today's games - Afobe, Becchio etc all players that would have been available on loan in the summer. What have we done? NOTHING. It's ok - lets continue playing long balls into the box for small strikers to compete for headers with 6ft plus burly Centre Halves - don't worry if it means that the ball just keeps coming back - we like having our defenders under constant pressure. Bloody negligent.

I'm sitting on the fence re. Hoyle but he has to realise that it's outstanding strikers who have kept us in this league. Vaughan and Beckford 2 seasons ago and Vaughan pretty much single handedly last season.
With Vaughan injured we NEED a replacement. This situation has gone on far too long and Hoyle must take responsibility for this.

Thanks for getting the striker in we need for todays important match. Thanks actually for not bothering over the summer or even last season when it was blindingly obvious we needed one. Thanks for the most lacklustre forward line since Jevons and Parker. Down to you Deano. Sell 8 million pounds worth of striker and spend a mere fraction on the replacement when it is obvious the area needs strengthening. How youv'e got some nerve having a pop at the fans for been critical i dont know. Whether Wells is good enough or not isn't down to Hoyle. However, the record transfer fee paid - £1.5 / £2M(?) - is. Mere fraction? Get a grip.

He needs to start taking some responsibility now before it is too late. The OP is spot on, it has been screamingly obvious we needed that striker cover and nothing done about it. He sacks Robins or Rather Robins leaves 1 game in , when it was obvious he should have gone in the summer and after stating we were looking foa n experienced manager , replaces Robins with a guy in exactly the same mould.
If as much time and effort was put into getting things right on the field as it is pissing about with stuff off of it then things would be a shit site better.

This is a first time post and not a knee jerk reaction to todays result but a balanced view over the last few years of seeing town go backwards. I have followed Town over 30 years through good, bad and bloody awful. My blame lies squarely at the door of Dean Hoyle and the Directors of Huddersfield. Before the Dean Hoyle is god brigade please hear me out as this is not a personal attack but a look at his failures during his reign. 1) A string of poor appointments for manager all of the same mould. Ex players who are trying to cut there teeth in management but have not been proven at this level of the game. Clark, Grayson, Robins and now Powell were managers learning there trade. I appreciate Grayson had a bit more experience but is still a relatively young manager. Mark Lillis has been around the game for a long time and knew how to get the players playing but more importantly understood Huddersfield town. What you promised was someone who has been there and done it. Powell took a team out of our league and had one season in the Championship. Hardly experienced. 2) Dean Hoyle likes to be centre of attention - take Powells first meeting at the Canalside. Dean sat smugly dishing information which should be kept behind closed doors. It had a jokey feel but in truth we are not a club in a position to laugh at others. Okay selling Clayton for £1.5m and getting Butterfield for £300k is great business sense. But so is selling a BMW and getting a Ford Focus instead. I would love some of the Middlesborough players in our squad. Infact most teams in our division play with more idea than we do.And did you really mean you would walk away from Town if you got a bit of stick!! Aww hope we didn't bruise your ego!! IF you did then you should have walked away. Someone is always willing to finance a team. Fans pay hard earned money to watch the constant stream of passionless shite on a Saturday. Yet another manager taking up Mick Wadsworth leaning post. Are they chained to it??? Are they not allowed in the technical area as it may damage the grass. 3) Player identification - This is the one that really sticks for me. We signed Robinson who isn't a patch on Dixon and play him. We have two left backs two right backs four centre halfs, 20 midfielders and 1 average championship forward in Wells and James Vaughan who unfortunately is only with us due to his injury problems. Last year when we lost Vaughan (again!!) we sent Stead and Patterson out on loan and relied on Wells and Danny Ward(who it is beyond me gets chance after chance!!). What would have happened if Wells got injured?? This problem s being played out again this season. 1 goal in 3 games under Powell and 3 for the rest of the season is woeful. At this early stage why has this problem not been addressed. 4) The club has created a culture of players who play for themselves not the team, shirt or the badge. Take Clayton, Hunt, Norwood, the first sign of a chance to move they go off the boil until we sell them normally just before the deadline so we cannot replace them. If we do we sign inferior players. 5)Time has come to be clear with the fans - ARE WE ACCEPTING WE CANNOT COMPETE AT THIS LEVEL AND WE ARE AT BEST A LEAGUE 1 CLUB. Thats how it feels to loyal fans who help fund the club albeit not to your level. All in bold i agree the rest is pure dogshit

Eldest daughter who lives in Wiltshire took her 2 boys, and 2 of their friends, to see Swindon Town v Sheffield United. 5-2 to Swindon, she reckons they will wipe the floor with Town next season. Right now, I haven´t got an argument with her opinion.
Feeling very downcast right now as well, by the way !

He clearly is no god and is not above criticism and but knee jerk reactionists on here are pathetic.
Do you seriously want him out of our club? Do you know of any investors who are willing to take over? Did you prefer the days of Davy, or the overstretched Taylor or the boom and bust of Rubery or the gin and tonic chairman in the Longbottom class.
IMO we are where we are because of Dean Hoyle and the ungratefulness of some posters is staggering, I would have preferred the Arab sheikh at Man City but he didn't fancy us and to be honest I don't think many do.

Talk on here about Hoyle taking responsibility etc.... I didn't watch the game as I'm on holiday but I listened on town player and apart from Bunn, it sounded like the team were not up for it. Not at all....
Wells never has been and never will be a lone striker so I think the questions should be asked of the manager (who we do need to give a chance) but most of all the players. Yes, we need cover for sick note vaughan but the players we already have, on the money they are, should have been able to compete much better today in my opinion.
It's the players who most of the money goes on and IT IS THEY that need to start to earn it.

It's becoming evident that we cannot compete in this league.
I suspect that Hoyle cannot afford to bankroll the club year on year, hence we have to sell players every year. There is clearly nothing in the budget for a new striker, probably because Vaughn is on a fair wage and we spend 1 million + on one 10 months ago.
Powell was probably the best we could do when our budget is so tight

It's ok we have Canalside and lots of companies supporting us. Did you not realise that it is more important to concentrate on things off the pitch!!

I must be the only one who thought he was crap. Ok running at defenders and attempting to pose a threat when you can't produce a quality final ball. Had a great chance to level the game and instead of getting a composed shot on target, arsholed it into row Z.

You surely cannot disagree with the fact that (irrespective of results ) Town played with more passion under Lillis than at any time under Grayson, Robins and now, Powell.

Hudson 5 Bunn 9 The rest 00000000000
Men against boys at times pushed off the ball no heart and 3 silly mistakes here is my take on the goals.
First Goal Lynch should have put it into touch AS should have done better ( stood tall ball went over his shoulder)
Second Goal Not sure who but midfield gave ball away when we were going forward they brushed past us and scored no cover from full backs.
Third Goal LP should have cleared then should have forced attacker wide AS could have done better (stronger hand)
Stayed to the end bitterly disappointed with that performance
Not sure now that we have anyone to create chances from midfield desperately missing Clayton and Norwood (type players) baton down the hatches for a long hard slog to stay in this league.
