He picked a slightly better team but I they play with that level of passion......Formations mean shit really if the pussys on the field don't wanna be there.
Bunn exempted from any criticism*

Forget this needs to play with a big man bollox, he saw lots of the ball today and nearly always turned away from goal rather than taking men on. Got a chance laid on a plate and made a right knackers of it by trying to roll it into the goal.
Looks like a million bucks down the shitter at the moment.

Peltier added nothing down the flanks. Robinson added little more. What's the point playing two defensive midfielders when you're playing two wingbacks scared of crossing the half way line?

There's some real shite posted on here today. I really wonder what people expect sometimes? If we had Jose mourinho as manager and messi and ronaldo in the side, the first time we lost to Leeds it would be suicide time. Canalside is awesome and the club try their best but WE ARE NOT A BIG CLUB. why should Hoyle stick his hand in his pocket all the time when only 14k of fans can be arsed turning up? Get a grip, we lost to Leeds, so what? It's fuck all to do with losing to L**ds you empty head. We have issues and they are issues that the chairman needs to get a grip of asap. Fuckin Canalside, i hope you enjoy sitting in there next season in league 1 and in a crowd of 10k, because if it isn't addressed by the powers that be, thats where we are heading. My heads not empty at all, far from it but from your post, yours certainly is. I'm not at all saying Hoyle should be devoid of criticism but some of this stuff on here is absolutely unconstructive and to be frank, quite personal. It's unhelpful. Have a go at the guy by all means but at least say (realistically) what you would do with the same budgets and constraints.

I'd be dropping Robinson, smithies, and lynch if Gerrard is fit, for the Millwall game.

Talk on here about Hoyle taking responsibility etc.... I didn't watch the game as I'm on holiday but I listened on town player and apart from Bunn, it sounded like the team were not up for it. Not at all.... Wells never has been and never will be a lone striker so I think the questions should be asked of the manager (who we do need to give a chance) but most of all the players. Yes, we need cover for sick note vaughan but the players we already have, on the money they are, should have been able to compete much better today in my opinion. It's the players who most of the money goes on and IT IS THEY that need to start to earn it. You've never mentioned it!

This is a first time post and not a knee jerk reaction to todays result but a balanced view over the last few years of seeing town go backwards. I have followed Town over 30 years through good, bad and bloody awful. My blame lies squarely at the door of Dean Hoyle and the Directors of Huddersfield. Just a few thoughts on what you wrote: The idea we have to have an experienced manager reeks of nonsense. Are you suggesting that younger managers are less successful than 'experienced' (assuming by experienced you're talking 50plus if you consider Powell inexperienced) ones? Because that's just not true. Age is just a number. Not saying Powell is the saviour of the club – im skeptical myself – but to suggest that the club has wilfully ignored a clear formula to choosing a successful manager is untrue. They have obviously tried to get the best man they can find, to suggest otherwise is dishonest or just plain wrong. Personally I disagree with your suggestion Hoyle likes to be the centre of attention – generally he keeps a lowish profile. But even if he does: is there anything wrong with that? You write about him being 'to blame'. Well, answer me this: how would Hoyle playing to the crowd in a fans forum possibly impact negatively on results? Because that is why there is discontent and unhappiness. Results haven't being good enough. All Town fans feel that unhappiness but this strikes me as Hoyle rubbing you up the wrong way, because this has nothing to do with football or HTFC's troubles on the pitch. On your third point i'd agree, in this area it's been a bit of a mixed bag. I am sympathetic though because in this division we are not a big player and the budget we have to work with does not leave much margin for error. In that context, we haven't done all that badly. But we need to do better. We can't afford to be making bad decisions here. Lynch's new contract one such example of the club making bad decisions; Gerrard should have been given that contract. A striker needs to be added. Personally, I think Danny Ward ain't all that bad of a striker but I recognise that I’m in a minority. On your fourth point, this is more to do with having transfer windows. When the clock is ticking clubs are put under more pressure to push transfers through. It is frustrating sure, but this is something that happens at all clubs more or less. It's the nature of the beast. Dean Hoyle is the owner and of course is responsible for the entire club, and when he gets things wrong fair enough criticise him. But the reality is his contribution to the club in the past 5 years has been outstanding and he has done more than any other man to move this club forward. You're right, Hoyle is responsible for the situation at the club. But that situation is that we are absolute light years from where we were when Hoyle took over. That isn't me beatifying Hoyle, it is a fact.

1) Lillis has a worse record in management than all those you have mentioned and isn't he an ex-player too. My point regards Lillis is he got them plaint with passion and tempo. Something that has been missing under Robins and now it seems under Powell. I would not have given the job Lillis. My point is that i feel this is another case of wrong person at the wrong time. It is evident Powell was not number one choice regardless of what was said. wrong person at the wrong time ... How on earth is Dean Hoyle expected to know whether Powell would get them playing with passion and tempo, he saw in Chris Powell someone who gained 101 pts in Lge 1 with Charlton and led them to 9th in the Championship before being undermined by a change in board.2) If Dean Hoyle was attention seeking then he would be far more in the public eye than he was, I actually think he is quite shy. Dean Hoyle likes to feel like the saviour of Huddersfield. Remember you buy the tickets we will buy the players. To many false dawns and when the fans complain after the abysmal first game he takes it personally. He wasn't even there. If he wanted to be the centre of attention surely he would have been there on the pitch lapping up the adoration of the fans.... Is he not allowed a holiday?3) The players are more than capable in my eyes, Wells was highly rated at the time, nearly all fna sthought we got a bargain at £1.3M particularly when you see what Assomablonga cost. The players are not capable hence the defeats we are taking. Our 1 to 11 is okay but beyond that and when compared to other teams we are miles behind. Every team we play looks stronger, hungrier, more motivated with more desire and passion. I watch a lot of football with my job and i see things in other games Town do not do. Take the Middlesboro match our plan was to kick it long to Stead who won no headers against a solid back four. Other than that we were devoid of ideas until late when we finally got down the back of them and hurt them. This is our plan B if not Stead its Ward. If you factor in our goalkeeper has the worst distribution i have seen in many years this will not work. Stead didn't even start the Boro match, you blame Hoyle for the motivation of players??? again how is Hoyle meant to know what tactics his managers will employ.4) We sell some players for value when we can get it and it is clear they will not re-sign with us Clayton for example. Maybe thats the only way we can sell our club play well for a season and we will move you on to a better club. I expect Coady to move within 2 years, same with Butterfield, Wells. Our players don't see Huddersfield as pushing towards the Premier so we are just a stepping stone. I'd rather have players committed to the team. Take Danny Ings had lots of opportunities to move last year but stayed and went up with Burnley., Danny Ings didn't leave Burnley because they were top if the league not many players do, if we were top of the league do you think Clayton would have wanted to leave or Rhodes? the tough task is getting to the top of the league, as a fan I don't see Town as pushing forward to the Premier League in this division to compete against the bigger clubs wie sell ourselves as a place that they can be successful and go on to the bigger clubs I see nothing but us being realistic. Honesty is what you want and that is how we have been told on numerous occasions is our way of doing it.5) Dean Hoyle has never been anything but honest with fans at these forums if anything too honest about the dealings of the club, you complain about him being the centre of attention and then say he should be honest with us, he has stated numerous times we cannot compete financially with the majority of clubs in this league. That is why he says we do things differently. Smoke and Mirrors - Many teams have small budgets in this league but still field a competitive team. Was this team competitive at Reading if they can be there then they can be anywhere within our division, kneejerking after a negative result at our rivals does not mean we don't have a competitive teamDo loyal fans lay the blame at the Chairman who has presided over year on year progression in the league standing for the entirity of his helmsmanship? Year on Year Progression one way to look at it. Last two seasons we have underachieved and survived by the skins of our teeth. This year may be a bridge to far and i feel the club accept this. Progression is putting a competitive team out on the pitch who although may not be made up of stars will run through a brick wall for the team and show some passion!!! How can you accuse the club of accepting this when all the talk at the fans forum was about actually wanting to overachieve --- do you think he was lying, he sees CP as a manager who has overachieved in the past and wants a bit of that

Richtea.. Usually your response is measured. .. maybe your pissed off like most of us but the OP has a point. .. This sell and replace strategy is begging to cost us. Our team is mediocre for this level. I've said all along that i think the board are naive if we think we can sell our best players every year and still hope to improve year on year. My biggest criticism of them is i feel we underestimated the championship and started putting established championship plans into action (trying to break even, selling best players, relying on youth players that werent quite ready, thinking we were safe last jan, talking about top 10 finishes etc) before we were an established club. But i understand why we have. To make out dean doesnt back the club with a pissy sarcastic 'thanks' thread is embarrassing - if he never put another penny I would still fully respect him for what he's done with the club overall. Look, everyone knows we need players in, but dean has said for weeks the money is there and i dont see any reason to disbelieve him..i'd say the fact it hasnt yet happened must be more down to the clib, wilson or powell dallying rather than dean being tight. As for the garbage about a 'mere fraction' of the rhodes money being spent - bollocks. What funded vaughans loan wages+transfer fee+current wages, beckford's high wages, wells for 1.25mill, scannell 700k?, clayton 400k?, norwood tribunal, lolley, the year on year shortfall on losses etc??A fraction was only spent on the STRIKERS!! thats what i said. Are you seriously suggesting that before we sold JR we borrowed money to pay for clayton, norwood and scannell? Are you forgetting the income a promotion gives you? We do it on the cheap and we take risks all the time.

We were all hoping for the new manager effect to be positive, it's been the opposite. Watched in disbelief today the most spineless performance from all apart from Bunn who was outstanding Wells should be dropped immediately, he offers nothing and was a complete passenger. He has no heart for this club from recent displays and needs time out of the side to get his confidence back. Lillis should be brought back into the first team fold immediately and work along side Powell, otherwise we are down. Bunn outstanding, he was as outstanding as Scannell, both ran at defenders, both produced fuck all. And as for Well not been good enough, how would any fucker know, he hasn't played long enough in a formation right for him to prove that. Some people on here are just clueless. If you are one of the few people on here that thought bunn didn't have a good game today then I think that makes you clueless

How you rate Bunn 9 and Scannell 0 when they had the exact same game is beyond comprehension. You are talking to one of SC biggest fans but Bunn was by far the best player for us today SC not at the races compared to Bunn IMO he had a poor game

Look the fallout of this season so far is this, no loan striker in by saturday and i am not bothering going as i suspect hundreds of others wont neither. Am not going to be taken as a mug,its as simple as that. No shots or goal excitement makes for dull watching and the feeling of been let down is simply exacerbated by the knowledge of its all self inflicted.

The Leeds' strikers were the main difference between the sides. Putting it simply, they had flair, pace and power. I don't know their names, but does anyone know from where they have come - because these are the type of players we require.

He was 5 yards behind play for the majority of the first half. A bit like Town. How come we didn't get corners off wards deflected shot, and Wells' first half free kick? These questions need to be asked while were bemoaning the officials. Thought he skied that one? He should have at least hit the target from that range. Stead must have been giving him tips.

I know, let's spend big, get into the premiership and then even possibly win the fa cup again, just like Portsmouth did. Oh, hang on a minute, maybe not..... Or is that what town "fans" want 1 or 2 seasons of glory as a final blow out before we go out of business? Serious question, if it's not from dean hoyles own pocket, where's the money coming from? And if it can only come from hoyles pocket then why lambast the poor bloke for not spending it? It's his money....,,.

We are paying the price for being prudent with our coin. Are we really governed by these strict FFP rules that so many clubs are disregarding? Bournemouth signed Artur Boruc this week on loan. They have also added Gosling, Ward, Camp, Surman, Rantie on big wages. They clearly don't care.
