I could very easily be reading into this wrongly, but did his response to Tog's mention of Gobern suggest he could be one of the ones Deano wants out?
The questions were regarding players leaving and when Gobern was mentioned Dean gave a "yep", as if to suggest 'yes he's in the same category as the rest.
I may have misinterpreted it, but regardless I get the feeling that Dean is getting incredibly impatient with players who aren't performing here on a regular basis. It's good, I think, as it'll make us far more cautious of potential 'has beens' in the transfer market e.g. Stead, Pato etc

was anything mentioned in regards to incoming transfers? Nothing specific, just that we are lot more cautious now as we don't want another Stead or Paterson. ALF was a done deal but he chose Bolton for personal reasons. We aren't in for Hanson either, (unless he's bluffing) Very interesting, good to know they are learning by mistakes but I'd be interested to know who is being held accountable for the stead and Paterson signings. No guarantees but our striker signings that year were particularly poor, what went wrong??? Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

No idea why he's still involved really. I can see very little pleasure in pissing money away in a system that is wholly against the smaller clubs and doing things 'right'. Fans are wholly ungrateful sods who will never be pleased. Name me one former Chairman revered by fans. Sugar loved Spurs, Doug Ellis loved Villa, Sam Longson loved Derby...the list is endless. All became loathed by the fans they once felt they were a part of. He'll never win all fans round, he'll never do 'enough' and he'll inevitably leave with a feeling of unfulfillment, millions out of pocket, a whole lot less in love with the club. It's a poisoned chalice you drink from Mr Hoyle. Which is a crying shame. Same as it's been for over 100 years then eh:) Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

We don't want another Stead or Paterson... Shouldn't that have included Peltier and Lopez too ?
Instead we plan to take our time and sign Edgar to play in centre midfield...ffs.

The reason he's still here is purely that we are not an attractive enough prospect to secure the investment required to take us significantly further. There's no way he will just up sticks and leave us in the shit, and I highly doubt he will sell us to anyone who is not willing to put more money into the club than he has. He said today his main aim is to make the club as attractive a prospect as possible for any potential buyer, IMO that means solidifying our place as a Championship side, and basically getting the club to break even, so as much as he probably doesn't want to be, I think he'll be Chairman of HTAFC for some time to come.

I didn't hear anything about Pelts, he sort of denied the RW-Southampton link, but more used the opportunity to defend the good work RW has done at the club, and criticized those fans who attack RW's position at the club purely because they don't understand his role, a point I wholeheartedly agree with him on.

Who said we signed Edgar to play in centre midfield? We signed a utility player who's cv said he could play centre half, left and right full back, and defensive midfield. Don't remember much negativity on his debut. Bit unfair to put Lopez in there, was on nothing more or less than an extended trial on what would be peanuts.

Yeah I agree too. He would be a massive loss. To echo the thoughts of most others, I also thought Hoyle seemed a little disgruntled. The question was raised about if Gerrard is going to America after the someone highlighted the twitter comment and Hoyle said "I hope so" or words to that effect. Didn't sound too impressed with Gerrard's attitude

Negative voices however small the minority, are much louder than positive ones. It's a fact of life, If he gets upset by it, he's in the wrong business. For every negative poster, twitter clown or however else he sees it, there are 100s that aren't.
When he made that interview after robins went, he blamed negativity of fans, once he did that, it signalled the end of his tenure in my opinion and the start of his exit strategy. Let's hope he leaves still on a positive if that's his plan, and not relegation.
Balancing the books now, but very risky if he is hoping not to continue investment. Championship clubs of our size that operate on a break even budget are very rare and I imagine we will find our level back In league one within a couple of years using that strategy, ultimately meaning all the investment was basically a big waste of cash.

Who else do we have who has played and can cover every position in the back line? Blimey it was his home debut in a new team and written off already. Must be a record.

Another who can play in a number of positions but not very well in any of them There is a reason Birmingham shipped him out and there is a reason why he has played so few games at the age he is It just sums Powell up for me and I hope to god it isn't a sign of the type of player he intends to be bring here.

Did you go to Wigan? Edgar was excellent there. Won most headers, kept it simple and broke up a lot of attacks.

No I didn't but he won plenty of headers again today and won some tackles too but you've got to have more ability on the ball to play in midfield at this level
Thankfully he won't get many more games there if everyone else is fit

It does make me laugh how Gerrard is lambasted for tweeting nonsense yet his boss can stand in a pub saying he hopes he's gonna leave (despite being under contract). Same for Oscar, very poor from Mr Hoyle.

Well he came straight into the team replacing gobern who had finally got his chance and shown some form. Looks like he was signed as hogg cover to me.

I don't think Peltier was ever given a chance in his natural position, even when Smith wasn't playing well. In my opinion Peltier is a decent championship right back. Powell didn't so in that case there is no point keeping him if not going to play him.

DID HE REALLY SAY HE WANTED4 MORE OUT? Well he said he wanted Gerard and Gobern out, didn't mention anyone else that I can remember. He said he hoped to get another 3 or 4 out at one point. He was asked if Gerrard was going to USA and said he hoped so. Tog asked him if someone who had been out of the team but recently got back in and done well ie Gobern would have made themselves wanted at the club again and he said no. Unless Hoyle is going to actually sign the players himself, he has to leave it to his crony Wilson and the manager to make the decisions on the signings, instead of berating the players, he maybe should berate Wilson and the manager for signing shit.
