In his last full season before Powell took over, he played nearly every game and was by far our best defender. Some people were even tipping him for POTY that season.
Dunno what happened over that summer because he barely had a kick from then on, whether he was a bad egg or not we'll never know. Deano always seems to have something bad to say about most players after they leave Town so I'll take what he says with a pinch of salt.

Put a bit of timber on looking at that pic or was he always that big? He was in the mould of too many recent Town Centre Backs. We now need a very mobile footballer not someone looking to kick player/ball/anything that moves as far as possible. #Wagnerrevolution

Gerrard whilst at Town was better than Wallace. Yeah well he ain't now, and he wasn't much better than him while they were both here. He was our 2nd best CB after Lynch.

He was our 2nd best CB after Lynch. Still not good enough for where we want to go, but a reasonable performer when compared to our other CB's at the time.

Being Town's second best CB at a time when we were conceding plenty isn't exactly a ringing endorsement of his abilities. I thought he was OK, a decent enough low end Championship clogger. He looks to be in disgraceful shape and League One is his natural level now.

We're hopefully moving on from those days now so I look forward to a better standard of CB coming in the summer.

"ANTHONY Gerrard is a man on a mission – to get back into the Championship by answering his critics on the field."
Not in this life you won't. You had better jump ship this summer because you are not going anywhere with Oldham, but mind you your just not going anywhere.

No nonsense old school defender. The best we had of his type at the time.
Always put his head in the mix and cleared his lines. No frills, playing it out etc.
I liked him me and can understand why he was pissed off not to be played.
He does though it would appear have 'off field' issues which may be the explanation why he fell foul of our then Manager.
