I note that the FL statement says that "it believes that league points should always be earned on the field of play" and yet they were very quick to DOCK the points that Rotherham earned, as it suited them.
Crap decision. Utter crap.

The decision was 100% correct and any similar occurrences will have to be judged on their own merits. Would our fans have been demanding 3 points, if these points would have secured Town the sixth play-off spot? If so, how unfair that would have been to the team who had actually completed their season in full, and then ended up losing it to Town by a single point, with the chance of landing the £100 million plus, Premiership jackpot. You could also argue that Town might have been winning the game 5-0 and the football league had ordered a replay, which Town then lost - would that be fair? So it was a tough decision no matter which way you look at it and I still maintain the F.L.got it 100% correct, given the circumstances. And yet 2 euro qualifiers have been abandoned recently with the blameless team awarded 3-0 victories, what's to stop any of the play off teams who are winning after the first leg to do the same now to ensure a trip to Wembley ? I also hope that when, in two years' time, you are drawing 0-0 at Grimsby on the last day, needing a win to stay in the Football League, you can be sure that there will be hundreds of HUDDERSFIELD fans invading the pitch causing the game to be abandoned. I hope that the FL will be as even-handed as they were today. I'd gladly pay to be there for that one. Then we'll see how much of a smug bastard you really are!

Crap decision. Utter crap. Exactly the point I made earlier, regarding the points they just docked off Rotherham. Points should be earned on the field of play, so they say, but only when it suits them. The sooner someone stands up to the football league the better, because they simply do as they want. There is no way we will stand up to them, we have already shown that, but someone needs to.

Sir/Madam, in regards to the League decision on this uncompleted Championship fixture, i wish to point out one simple fact to yourselves. As per the social media before and after the said game, it was the avowed intention of a number of Blackpool FC supporters to enter the playing area and to occupy that area until they were forcibly removed or the match was abandoned. They spoke openly before during and after the match of their intention to cause the game to be abandoned and for the club to face whatever penalties were then placed upon it. The inaction on the day of the Police and Club Officials and stewards was regrettable but understandable as the ‘protest’ was initially peaceful and children and a disabled person were involved. The decision not to replay the match or part of it, on your behalf was easy, lazy and lacking any integrity. The decision today to award both teams a point and then the ludicrous reasons given are not even worth repeating on here. The only persons ‘winning’ anything from both ‘spineless’ decisions by the Football League are the supporters who set out to break the law and the rules and therefore you could be seen to be complicit in this, even though you hide behind the decision not to actually make a decision. You leave yourselves open to these possible allegations, true or untrue. I am aware the FA will have made your decision for you and they will deal ‘heavily’ with Blackpool FC, although this again will only actually affect the well behaved supporters of that famous club, whilst the few hundred misguided will see it all as some great victory for themselves. Congratulations on again showing no backbone and releasing press statements that clearly show the League is run by ‘yes men’ and persons who dont care enough to even check that these statements actually make any sense. We all now await your back sliding and excuses for the QPR debacle and your ability to bend over backwards to not make a decision that actually means anything much. yours..from a football fan who believes the 3 points from every professional league game are sacrosanct..if not why bother..? sent today to the football league.. This bit. spot on.

It's not a legal precedent though. I think a lawyer would see it as a precedent in a court of law and argue such, Think the FL would struggle to argue that this game should go down as 0-0 but another game should go down as something else. At the very least they've opened themselves up to all kinds of legal battles. I understand what you are trying to say, but the FL can't establish a legal precedent even if they wanted to.

At the very least they've opened themselves up to all kinds of legal battles. This is the critical issue. It can now be argued that a precedent has been set in British football. It is always dangerous to let the rabble call the shots, especially given that this was pre-planned. The decision smacks of cowardice and apathy. I am less interested in the points than I am in the inability of the FL to act with common sense and integrity. Still, if we need a point in the last game of next season, we know what to do!

Give your spot to a club who want to complete 90 minutes. You spineless, cowardly pussies.

This bit. spot on. If that is your main concern, it would have been better to send your complaint after they announced that the match would not be finished or replayed. It was that decision that made a mockery of the terms of their own competition. After that, how or if any points were to be awarded would only ever serve to emphasise the carelessness and incompetence of the original decision, and of the FL itself. Are any of us surprised that they are? The problems they may have created will be their own, not Town's. Roll on next season.

This message is for Greg Clarke and Shaun Harvey and all the other minions that make up the football league. I am a huddersfield town fan and find your shocking decision to award a draw absolutely pathetic and a easy cop out for all of you. Unfortunately I don't think you realise the magnitude of this decision, you're very own contradictory excuse of all teams should play and earn there own points is key here, is that not what huddersfield turned up to try and achieve on that very day but was taking away from them by black pools fans. Can I say that as I was at that match no police or stewards tried to remove the fans so Blackpool as a club failed too. We huddersfield town fans waited over one hour for a decision that could have been made earlier when it was obvious they would not remove the fans through lack of effort from police/stewards, all town fans remained calm and friendly even when a minority of Blackpool fans tried to cause trouble. (these individuals were left alone with no police/steward intervention) I can only assume you came to this decision because you know it won't get the media attention of a bigger club and that also Mr oyston sits on the committee regardless of wether or not he was in the room on this matter. Since this decision has been made our very own CEO Nigel clibbens as commented on how the club now wants to move on, well he does not speak on behalf of me. Over 2000 fans went to that game in good faith spent our hard earned money on travel/match tickets all in the hope we could win a match that would put us above our rivals Leeds United for the first time in a long time. That chance as now gone for us all again. Can the played games column now read 45.5 please. This might seem trivial in the grand scheme of Blackpools plight however my club as had very dark days in the past and none of our fans invaded the pitch to force an abandonment. You have now set a precedent which I believe will force you all to make tough decisions in the future. Problems never go away, they always resurface. I want reimbursing me and my sons ticket money minimum. I will refuse to go away if this is not fulfilled, its not the money it's the damn principle. Don't normally post on ere just like reading others opinions or should I say arguments. Anyway thought my email to those bottlers deserved to be shared on this topic. Sent from my iPhone

Why won't it? They even said something along the lines of 'we believe points should be decided on the pitch', which already proved they're hypocrites after deducting 3 from Rotherham. If they rule something else the next time it happens(It's going to) expect a lawyer to use this as a case study!

Not bothered about the money for the ticket, not that fussed that we would have finished above Leeds (we'll do it next season anyway!), but I think it makes a bit of a mockery of the whole season if teams are not given the opportunity to play for all the points, or not given the points when they haven't been allowed the opportunity to play for them.
If it had been any other club than Town I'd have felt the same too.
