I think it is pretty clear that Blackpool Football Club, Stewards, Police knew exactly what was going to happen and decided to do nothing. Non of them did anything to stop the pitch invasion and certainly made no attempt to clear the pitch. For those who were there it was pretty obvious that non of them had any intention of doing anything about it - that is the point that gets most peoples goat. So should tickets be sold for a game if the authorities know that it is "unlikely" that the game will be completed? We do not know for certain that the authorities had "decided to do nothing" but HTSA's FOI request might shed more light on the matter. Some supporters might have chosen not to go to the game if they had been aware that there was no intention to ensure that the game was completed? Unfortunately if such a strategy had been broadcast prior to the game it might well have encouraged more Blackpool supporters to take part in the pitch invasion and abandonment would then have become a virtual certainty.

FWIW IMO it is time to move on. Maybe Blackpool football club could make a sizeable donation to a charity of Town`s choice?

It still leaves a nasty taste in the mouth but we have to move on and forget it now. HTFC will already be moving forward and the staff will be planning for next season. However, the club has to keep asking questions to provide us with answers. I don't care about the three points, i dont care about getting my money back but something is morally wrong here and HTFC should be asking the FL some uncomfortable questions on behalf of every single football fan that walks through a turnstyle. Should 100 or so protesters be allowed to abandon a game?....Answer = No! After breaking the law and entering the field of play should police stand idly by while "criminals" affect the lives of other law abiding citizen?....No! Should Blackpool be awarded 1 point for failing to control their fans?...No!

There'll be some panic on the streets of Blackpool tonight. Blackpool seem very keen to assist the rozzers identify all fans on the pitch and make them cough up. From their site:
"The club will be making formal representations to The FA and The Football League to defend and mitigate both charges as appropriate. The club is in regular dialogue with Lancashire Police and is working very closely to support Lancashire Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to charge those responsible for the above criminal offences. Further action will be taken to recover damages and costs from those responsible."

The police statement said that their primary aim was to ensure the safety of the supporters in the ground. And there was me thinking that they were law enforcement officers whose job it was to uphold the law and arrest all those who illegally entered the field of play. Silly me ...

Because they knew they would pick him up at a later date and did. The Blackpool fans will be getting pulled in just the same, effortlessly. The silly sods were parading round, some with masks lifted off their faces being filmed all over the shop.

Amused me last season watching you bumping into and tripping over people in the NSL.

There is a piece in the Huddersfield Examiner today with the following quotes from a Chief Inspector Of Police "the aim of our investigation now is to identify the small minority that overstepped the mark and behaved in an unacceptable manner" "the majority of protestors acted peacefully throughout and our policing response at the time reflected this" In other words "tough shit" to you guys (girls) from Huddersfield who spent your hard earned money to come and watch the match. We weren't going to do anything so the game could be completed and to be honest we are not going to do much now either.

"Police investigating a pitch invasion during Blackpool's last home game of the season have released images of two men they would like to speak to. Police are keen to trace " a small minority" of fans they believe were involved in public order offences." BBC LINKsurely all of those who entered the pitch were 'involved in public order offences', no?

The FA fudged the whole business. They just created a charter whereby fans can invade the pitch whilst the match is in play, get an abandonment and at the same time gain their club a match day point. The outcome of the meeting should have been for Blackpool to have forfeited the three points and the club should have been heavily fined for not fulfilling the fixture. I do wonder who these faceless people are who run the game we so love. The last slap in the face for the football fan was the KO time for the FA Cup Final, this was driven by the TV rights. It is about time they stood up for the fan because without us the game is nothing. They need to be getting more money drip feeding through the divisions from those Sky TV deals. The country could have some half decent safe stadiums with some of that cash.

Always asociated typo with merely accidently pressing the wrong key.

eg FK would be a typo, or F> or F:
You have to go right to the other side of the keyboard to type FA.
