Pathetic, spineless, joke of a decision. The only two outcomes should have been three points to town or a replay. The decision not to replay because nothing was at stake makes a total mockery of the competition. Well done to the Blackpool fans they can now rightly claim they have won points for their team. Hope the fl are proud of them. They really were the twelfth man. Never mind it's only little old huddersfield.

Decision reached 0-0 The football league believes that results should be decided on the field of play.but obviously not in 90 minutes of play The Football League must know they dropped a bollock by not forcing a replay. The Board also asked its executive to review the League's regulations regarding abandonments to ensure that any such matches can always be played to a conclusion or replayed altogether if deemed necessary.Or will the highlighted bit be used as a get out?

The way I interpret it is the 'if deemed necessary' bit only applies to it being a full replay rather than just playing the remainder of the match.

We should have invaded the pitch on 87 minutes against Rotherham and after JV scored against Norwich.

Blackpool haven't been punished at all then really? What a farcical decision, but what more could we have expected from that incompetent set of clowns...

So they decide the result of the match in a meeting and then use the justification that results should be decided on the pitch?!

So at least you all know what the Football League will do about the debacle of the FFP breach at QPR now.

they could have said it was a 10 all draw and Wells had scored all 10, thereby at least giving us the leeway to ask a shitload more for Wells? its no more ridiculous than the actual decision and 'reasons' given..

They'll get punishments from the FA at a later date, but the worrying thing is that basically their fans have earnt their team 1 point despite being the direct cause of the abandonment.

I thought they didn't have a rule for this kind of occurrence that's why it's taken weeks to decide something. That could have been sorted at the time of the abandonment?

Disgrace. Town fans we know what to do next year. If we're going to lose run on the pitch well get the point. Not all goals are scored in the first half so I clearly dont see why we didn't get the three points! annoyed isn't the word

We know that the reason the game was not replayed was because 'nothing was at stake'.
If we invaded the pitch and that kept us up, we would have to replay the game.
Let's not get too upset by this outcome as it really means very little (and gives CP an extra 2 points,to improve year on year, next season!).
Here's hoping that the fans will be reimbursed. This not happening would be the only real injustice. This should include ticket price and travel costs although I imagine they will bottle the latter. They will also receive a hefty fine and the possibility of a points reduction is still on the table.
I'm fairly sure this does not set a precedent.

We relied on a board that included the damn chairman of a club involved, even if the bloke wasn't allowed to comment, his mere presence on the board has skewed the decision. rather dissapointed with this but in no way surprised.

Actually, there is a potential benefit to finishing fifteenth instead of sixteenth. Seeding for the first two rounds of the League Cup are based on league position the previous season. We'll be seeded for the first round, but the lowest seeded team for the second round last season was Leeds (fifteenth), while Sheffield Wednesday (sixteenth) were unseeded. This.
