It's on synthetic pitches, easier to clean afterwards I think.

Anyone doubting Women's Football should watch Germany now, their passing and movement is better than Towns! Enjoying it

Big coverage here in America. Some of the play is quite good, but the most refreshing part is that they don`t roll about on the floor every 2 mins like big girls

There are so clever players in the game. Personally I would not walk across the road to watch it.

What's everyone's opinion on it? Over the last couple of years there has definitely been a joint effort by all the major media outlets to increase it's exposure, to the point where every other tweet on the FA's Twitter page is about the women's game. And with women's teams been introduced into the new FIFA game, intrest will almost certainly increase, maybe through curiosity more than anything. Personally, i wouldn't go out of my way to watch it (the WC apparently starts this Saturday), having grown up watching the men's game the difference in quality is immeasurable, thus making it nowhere near as enjoyable. Based on that logic you wouldn't go and watch Town (or indeed any club outside the greedy league elite) given the difference in quality between them and the best.

I am not against Women playing football but its surely not a televised event, its hardly Women's beach volleyball now is it It's no less televisable than darts (which is only a pub game), snooker (ditto), and F1 which has to be THE most boring 'sport' on the planet. Blokes sit in cars and go round and round a track for eternity and then at the end they've already decided who's allowed to win it. And he cries if someone else nips in and wins it "by mistake". Oh, and did I mention golf?

As a sports fan, it's the unpredictability and drama of all sports that draw me in.
Women's sports NEED to be looked on differently than any mens game, if you compare then rarely does it match up.
Women don't run the 100m as fast as their male counterparts but it doesn't make their 100m Olympic final any less competitive.
The lack of playacting and pure joy when celebrating like the Nigerians equalising late against the swedes should embarrass some of their male counterparts in the game.

its the womens world cup and to be honest the early rounds are no less turgid, at times, than the mens version... the standards in all sports gets higher year on year so the ladies games will always be behind the mens.. im watching some of the games with the above always in mind and want England to win, same as the mens game.. they all knew the words and sang them during the anthem and they wear the 3 lions...the whole world apart from us apparently, are quite right to be very proud of their nation and culture? ?

Town team mixture of under 21 and first teamers v this shower Guess at over ten nil ? The u18-team alone would get double figures, but that's not really the point. I'm not terribly entertained by it myself, but comparisons to male counterparts is just wrong. It's like that in any physical sport.

I am certainly no mysoginist, but I too am sick to death of the BBC ramming womens footie down my throat, whether I like it or not. It may be subtley different to the mens game, but why on earth would anyone go to watch it instead of the proper game? I'd go & watch a womens game for the same reason I'd watch a conference game or a game on the local park - because I just love the game, but all this pretence that it is, in some way "equal" is rubbish. I have no problem with the BBC/Guardian showing it, reporting on it or featuring it, but not just because it is the womens version. Their approach is Sexist, in my opinion, but I am open to Barbieterrier pointing out the error in my ways (again!). The proper game? Football is football. Football is the game. The proper game. Regardless of which sex is playing right?
