Been forced out of the club by the board, nothing to do with Powell or smithies You can't force a player out if he doesn't want to go. Impossible.

QPR put in an offer for a player. This includes an increase in salary for the player. Club think offer is acceptable and advise player/agent. They are given time to consider. He can accept and leave or decide to stay. Absolutely no pushing him out of the door.

When the manager has said that Murphy "has the shirt on Tuesday and beyond" its kinda hard to see where Smithies fit in tbh.

Not happy. Will spend football money on trips out with the kids and meals out instead of contributing to this shower of shit Town board that think the clubs behaviour is in any way in the interests of the club.

How often in life we take things and people for granted until we lose them. I'd love Alex to stay - a first team player with the club in his heart.

Sad day, excellent keeper and one of us. Not sure how anyone can defend this particular sale.

Don't blame him in the slightest for moving on. After Murphy's miracle save yesterday - it's a win win situation. Money in the bank, decent replacement, pathway opens for academy lads, loan keepers are easy to acquire and cheap. It's the easiest position on the pitch to get a replacement if Murphy turns out significantly worse than Smithies and gets us in trouble.

Alex had a new baby a local lad the last thing he wanted was to leave. He had a conversation with Powell and he told him it's come from the top and its out of his hands. Watch and see

The one he denied the deadliest striker in Scotland a walk through tap in. Not sure Smithies would have saved that one - probably go down too early.
Saved a certain goal - miracle.

Just to be clear, he's not actually gone yet has he? Maybe he has had second thoughts about playing behind Clint Hill.

If this move happens all I can say is all the best wishes in the world Alex, I have good memories of you in a town shirt. Play off final at Wembley will stay with me for ever, once again many thanks.

If he had the club and the game in his heart then he would have been gone years ago. In my opinion he should be playing in the Prem now, on the fringes of England squads. Frustrates the shit out of me. He should have made the club a pretty penny years ago rather than seeming to settle and not train on. When he signed that contract at 17/18 to me for some reason he just stagnated. Got his 70k motor and didn't make of himself what he could.

Yes smithies is a good keeper n local lad Maybe hel go maybe he won't But t label Murphy as crap well He hadn't had much chance with what goals have been put past him I actually think he is a decent keeper n comes and takes control of his area weather claiming the ball or getting a good fist t it Will only get better with game time too

Looks like Deans cashing in before jumping ship or are we going to pump the money into the tiny squad? Doubt it

Apparently, the evil Clibbens has driven him there himself. I can't even bring myself to say his name now I know his dirty little secret. My understanding was that prior to coming on board with DH, he had little or no interest in football, but I may be misremembering. Seems easy to throw the Leeds fan stuff at him (never happened with folk hero Fisher, who bloody was and is)
