Don't be surprised if we haven't replaced everybody tomorrow. Loan window opens on 8th Sep so I expect a few deals to wait until then.

One comment on our midfield we really need some pace and power whoever comes in. What about dropping Miller back there. He ticks those two boxes

ok...here goes.....we are 3rd bottom of the league with 3 points....at this moment in time that says to me we are not very good?is that a fact or am I lieing? You're not lying you're just forgetting that we played pretty well in most of those matches and 3 of the teams we played are in top 4. Show some faith for gods sake. rich.....playing pretty well doesn't mean a damn thing to me....its alright saying we played well but we lost the football match......this is no good to me.....i would want to play shit and win the football match....i know at this moment in time its a very fine line between loosing or drawing the game but this is no good to anyone ....its the results that count. 3pts out of 15 is terrible.....

and what if huws is a better player who will give more to the team in terms of getting some sort of success on the pitch? what would you do then? and to be fair, I do not know if he is or isn't, but will remain open before making up my mind based on a few glimpses of a player Lot of what ifs on both sides of our viewpoints! Point is Powell has lot of midfielders to choose from.. Hope he gets a defender and striker in asap agree

Results don't lie but your so called facts are quite simply not facts they are your opinion and your entitled to it, but I certainly don't see it the same way and therefore as I see it there's plenty of room for argument ok...here goes.....we are 3rd bottom of the league with 3 points....at this moment in time that says to me we are not very good?is that a fact or am I lieing? So your post about us being a crap club and we have been for the last 40 years is based on the fact that we are 3rd from the bottom and 3 points of 13th after 5 games? No mate you are not lying that's an absolute fact (in your world)

I wasn't bothered when we sold Clayton, Norwood and Coady, but Butterfield is a different kettle of fish. Didn't the Chairman say he wouldn't be sold? And I'm sick of hearing his favourite sentence: 'We are where we we are' - this sounds defeatist to my ears. If Butterfield goes, it will be as bad as selling Stewart! But no doubt 'the Accountant' will be pleased. Clayton and Norwood were refusing to sign new contracts, both had a year left. Coady, smiithies and Butterfield were all well under contract. Coady sold to balance the books... ok. Smithies sold to allow re-investment for the betterment of the team...ok. Butterfield our best player... Sold for the money. If we get relegated this will cost us a lot more than 3.5m. Should have balanced the books by selling him next year, not this.

One comment on our midfield we really need some pace and power whoever comes in. Think we do, probably needs to chip in with a few goals as well. Tall order with what we will be spending, someone's going to have to pull a blinder off in the coming days !!

Better to lose him now, bank the cash and get planning than lose him a day before February with no plan B.

So we let him go for a pittance then Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards 3.5 m a pittance when we paid a fifth of that for him? 3.5 m a pittance when we paid a fifth of that for him? a seventh I believe We signed Butterfield for 300K (and sold Clayton for £1.5M) as per DH at last season's Canalside Q+A introducing Powell. So that's more than an eleventh and just less than a twelfth If the £3.5M is correct.

In this division in this day and age, £3.5 million just doesn't go very far. It would cost us more than that for the striker that we need. Then again we'll probably get a loan player for the rest of the season, he'll do well and then we'll say we can't afford him permanently leaving a gaping hole in the team for next year.

We agree on one thing then because I too think we are the best club in the world, but we haven't been relegated just yet and I'm willing to wager a pint we won't go down this season. It's a good bet for you because I don't drink mate!

I'd hope we'd get more than £3.5m - they're desperate for him. £4.0m min + the bits we'll never see. I don't see £3.5m plus add ons which may get to £4.0m as a good deal as much as we may have pushed back to start with in context of the market, how much they want him etc.
It shouldn't affect our own signings - our focus should be on spending "a substantial part" of the Coady / Smithies money ie of £3.5m on a 1st choice striker and defender.
The Butterfield deal is a second priority - Anyhow I don't know what you're on about "We're not a selling club" - Dean Hoyle, January 2009.

Theres also a difference between playing pretty well and defending pretty well. From an offensive play perspective, its been pretty awful. We shouldn't be surprised therefore, at the paucity of goals we've scored.

I hear they started selling rose tinted glasses at the town shop ? Apparently you can only buy them if only your opinion counts... Powell made it clear Butterfield is integral to the team and our best player... Under contract, money still available to invest (smithies money). Still sold !!!

Well our centre mids are dropping like flies so I'd say yes, a centre mid is definitely what we need
What do Town need then ?
