Played from the bench on the hour in Bangladesh today. Replaced Bradford's James Meredith.

Surely this lad hasn't got many more chances. Absolute liability. I'd rather play Senior he surely can't be any more naive or clumsy than JD.

I think I agree. We have become weak again down the left side whereas when Chilwell was here we were strong. Bit of quality makes a big difference. I'm sure DW must see that. Maybe he's not doing anything about it because we are getting Chilwell back? If not it's a top priority to get a left back (along with the striker and centre half).

I'm not his biggest fan but I think he will be getting pillared for Bunn's mistake today.

He is not great. Won't go anywhere with this guy, what were the scouts thinking when they saw him? His control is good, but when he has the ball he usually blindly panics a pass, he doesn't seem to have an idea what to do when he has possession - so invariably he will lose possession and that proves a serious weakness for our team and the style of football we play. Tommy Smith is not much better. In my opinion 2 NEW FULL BACKS PLEASE!

I'm not his biggest fan but I think he will be getting pillared for Bunn's mistake today. Dived in for the first and third goals and then let ameobi waltz into the box for the 2nd. There were other errors from other players too but every goal seems to involve Davidson somewhere at the minute.

Totally agree it was bunn that fucked up that led to the second but Davidson should`ve mopped and where was our cover at the far post as the pass came across the box. We are very poor defensively, i have to say.

he was at fault for 2 of the three goals today. my god he's poor. To say he was at fault is harsh. All of Cardiff's goals can from diabolical defending from us, but when 2 of our back 4 push forward all the time our shape gets exposed. They were crap but we were worse.

I know it's harsh but on the first goal Davidson is out of position he lunges in and misses the ball and is a spectator from that point
This means Lynch has to come across and is pulled out of position.
Crainie then has to come across and is pulled out of position when the ball is passed to the edge of the six yard box
Then when the ball is cut back we have Lynch on the touch line and Craine on the byline by the six yard box ... while Cardiff have men unmarked in the middle of the box

I know what your saying but we can't just point to one player on days like today. Our system expects that 1 or both deeper midfielders drop into the back 4 to defend if the full backs are up the pitch. This means that if the midfield give the ball away cheaply we will be under pressure, especially when the midfield are expected to run there nuts off trying to force an error.
We can't just keep pointing the finger at a specific player when the whole team were poor. Davidson is garbage compared to Chilwell but even if he played today, with the team making loads of mistakes it won't wouldn't change the result.

Davidson is the official scapegoat now then? So you thought he had a cracker? I'd stopped worrying about the left side with Chilwell, but Davidson has few redeeming features. We might survive with this current back four but I think if we want to get up the table we have to start winning these games which we are currently losing by the odd goal. Of the current 4/5 we are using only Lynch is up to scratch - and he can be very flaky at times as well. Surely its the main priority of DW/DH to get our defence sorted out. We scored two lovely goals today but that good stuff is floundering on our defence.

His problem is he continually dives in, and we get punished. Their first 2 goals included Davidson diving in and getting nowhere near the ball and it sounds like he gave away the free-kick for the 3rd as well. You cannot defend by going off your feet all the time.

davidson all is all over the place, was same in 1st half with cardiff players lining up at the far post... when he joins in the attack he too often puts us under pressure with poor passing...mind you I thought Dempsey has a 'mare in 2nd half too. Town seemed to lose that game soon as Huws came off as we completely lost our shape with a massive hole in central midfield..at one stage we had 5 across the back and 5 across the front with 50 yards between them...and that wasn't late on... that performance today wasn't very good..I think man for man,Cardiff were better...

He was all over the place today, positional wise atrocious, he's supposed to be an international left back, looks nothing more than a kick about in the park player imo.

He had a good game against charlton - when he didn't have to defend
Quite frankly he can't defend - he can't tackle, close down or anything you'd expect a defender to do
1st goal - he dived in amd missed man and ball. No good sat on your backside. They broke and scored
2nd - poor ball to him from whitehead, ditto him to bunn and weak from bunn then again davidson dived in and got neither man or ball
3rd - dived in again and whilst i'm not sure he touched him he gave the ref the opprtunity to try count ten yards and use his spray (neithet of which he achieved)
I said when Chilwell left if Wagner can make Davidson be able to defend he'll be able to turn water into wine. I repeat

I try to be balanced if I can, but having seen Davidson alot, it's clear he's a weak link that needs replacing.
