How many tickets have been sold for Brentford match to non season ticket holders? Surely that rules out a few seats for anyone wanting to buy a season ticket in the seats that are occupied by the Brentford match. Supposedly they are meant to have a certain number of seats available to sell on a game by game basis, so presumably they will have been selling those for the Brentford game and not seats allocated for potential Season Card holders. Although I could be making all this up. To clarify, i bought my season ticket saturday at the stadium, revell ward stand lower next to the away supporters. This was not possible while trying to buy online, only option i had was the kilner bank. Someone has got my seat for the Brentford game, but i have been allocated a seat in front, so its a good job i went to the ground as i would not have known that seats in the revell ward stand are still available to buy.

If we'd sold as many as the figure they claim year-on-year we'd have to rent Old Trafford out every other weekend. 17,000 is the made up figure this season, but Dean said we're set to break records so I would hope we've sold over 16500. I'd say it's bizarre to make up how many you've 'sold', but when it is literally the only thing the club has going for it you might as well make it up. Thousands of tickets sold and yet spending £1 on transfers. Not that I'm knocking the initiative. It's fantastic and good on them. But lying about the numbers is just proper tinpot — and fooling nobody outside of Bradford.

I would have thought that the better seats would be still available for season ticket sales. The impression you get from the on line plan is that a few seats at the front of the BR are available in addition to some in the north end of that stand. As the combined capacity of the two side stands is around 15000 I would think that around 13500 are sold to season ticket holders. If you add those sold in the FM upper then we may be approaching 15000. I may be wrong but DH's hope of a record number appears to be well short. To break that record we would have had to sell out the RW and BR stands. One other consideration is the executive box capacity. 40 boxes that will have a capacity of around 500. If they are included then we may surpass 15k.

How many tickets did we sell in the centennial year? I'd be surprised if we have sold many more than 15K....

If we have sold less than 15,000 perhaps the club could make up the difference - buy them for £179 each and then resell them on match days for £20 a pop - would make them a nice little profit!

Bradford should be congratulated for the initiative like you say and I doubt we would have done it if Bradford hadn't lead the way. I just hate the way they boast about their support and knock clubs, who don't get the numbers they get, when they are charging over £300. I would like to think our fans have a bit more class and dont mock clubs who would otherwise have higher attendances than us. Town should be congratulated for following Bradfords initiative, but even if we sell 18000, thats no better than someone like Preston selling 9000 at normal prices. Still looking forward to seeing us play in front of big crowds (hopefully) next season though.

Someone put a link on here, a page or two back with him saying, "we are set to break records", so I take that to mean that by close of business tomorrow he expects us to have surpassed 16500.

I will have a scroll back to read the link. Thanks.

Its not about the money, if we dont get a larger core support we are doomed, may be 20Yrs, its tyeh way football is going. I dont think its bradford we are copying i think its Germany! they all have cheap SC prices and develop the support over a few years. Nice one Dave

I dont mind admitting we've followed Bradfords lead. Maybe the German influence has had an effect this time, but Stan Ternent was manager in the centenary season.

So much more value than just the revenue raised by offering lower season ticket prices.

Many of their attendance obsessed fans wills ask for one just to boost the numbers being sold or maybe to ensure a nice empty seat next to them for a bit of extra room. Problem is if they actually do well particularly towards the end of the season the seat can`t be resold and actually used & revenue might be lost.

Can't be that many of them though? Surely? Even in Bradford.

They had to return to traditional style season tickets due to fraudulent use of season cards - due to not being able to afford the technology to scan the cards to see whether they had been used already on a matchday.

Once it's in their blood it's in their blood. Think longer term rather than one match promos.

You can change your name, your car, your wife, home, Job and even your gender. BUT not your team.

Been getting some grief from the wife along the lines of if the season tickets are so cheap why didn't you get me one! Sorry love I didn't think of that - they are all sold out now. So I just checked in DG Lower and there was one left in pen 8 not far mine in pen 7 - so to keep family peace I snapped it up with an hour left to the deadline. Buggers charging 3% for debit/credit card purchase. Sure they didn't add that to mine when I bought when they first came out.

Thanks for the offer Martin - its in the post now anyway. I was only looking on the off chance and surprised to get one vaguely in the area - last one in DGLO8 - maybe it was a return.

Has anyone noticed that the Examiner has now twice referred to the number of season ticket sales. In the article headed, David Wagner Ready for Serious Business, it states "The Head Coach believes his team are on track to excite 15,000 season ticket holders", and in the article about Ian Holloway's dastardly predictions, "Town, of course, with 12 new senior signings and backed by a 15,000-strong army of season card holders..." Is this a clue or a guess?

jarvis has said the Brentford game will set a (recent) record for first game home attendance...he said maybe around 17,500..that includes pay/ticket on the day which he is guessing at the numbers but this suggests to me we're nearer 15,000 SC's than 16,000.
