It is churlish of me to complain here as I don't live in WY and I do have DAB in my car but I think there is more than a case of Town being 3rd in the pecking order at RL and thia has always been the case. To be fair to RL they have taken a view on the number of listeners they get from each team and make a decision accordingly. I think they have got this wrong but it is hardly inconsistent is it? What Gareth Jones needs to remember is that he is there to serve listeners, I sometimes feel that that RL are there for themselves first and the listeners second. The sad thing is that this decision won't change. I think that's churlish.

Hi, First time on here so go gently with me, have to say I'm bloody fuming with this Radio Leeds business. One thing I don't think any one has mentioned, there was an advert in this Saturdays Give Us An H, 'BBC Radio Leeds, The Home Of Huddersfield Town Commentaries' (right your having a laugh). I've contacted Sean Jarvis just to highlight the points raised on here. It may just be another angle to follow up, if the club are advertising the RL product/service but we as the user are finding that product/service crap then we should inform the club ? Welcome to the board. By Drig I'm assuming you mean Drighlington? I was walking through Drig on Saturday lunchtime with my ten year old Town shirt on (The fourth division one). That wasn't you who peeped your horn at me as I left the Trawler was it?

Sorry (well I'm not) but the BBC isn't fit for purpose and hasn't been for a long time. As soon as the full extent of their complicity in Saville's sick crimes was discovered they should have been shut down there and then, and as we have seen he was just the tip of the iceberg of the Beeb sponsored Paedophile ring.

Hey, the BBC will be even better soon. The government get to place people on the BBC board of directors soon.
It'll be like North Korean TV before you know it.

Yep Drighlington it is Stavros, fair mix of chickens and and that other lot, It wasn't me that peeped at you mate. I can normally be found in a quiet corner of the Spotted Cow, smiling smugly to myself whilst listening to that lot from Beeston crying into their beers as they realise yet again they are doomed not to reach their rightful position in the promise land😂😂😂😂😂

How sweet would it be, and I know I am tilting at windmills again, but come the end of the season Town are riding high at the top of the league while Bradford and Leeds slide further into oblivion ? Promotion beckons and suddenly RL become mildly interested again. Following on from the three word response earlier, Town told them KISS MY ARSE. It's nice to dream

It looks like Gareth Jones is sending the same response to everybody as I emailed in & had the same reply.
What I want to know is who did they consult with as they didn't get in touch with HTSA nor the ATT panel. Given Pulse 2 cover Bradford & Leeds have that other station, it's a joke.

When Bradford and Leefs screwed them - its a commercial agreement
Its ok saying 80% of new cars - the simple fact is 15% of cars have it!
And it makes no sense at all to have bradford on fm amd am and us on dab
Why not combine am and dab post match!?

As a regular listener not only for things Town related its now a total boycott from me and I have two DAB radios, fuck em'. Does anybody know if I pay to use the Town player instead if it will in anyway benefit radio L**ds? Radio Leeds provide the commentary for the Town Player so commercially it would be in their interest that people don't listen on the radio and instead subscribed. They WILL be paid for providing that commentary, directly or otherwise. Do any of our resident visitors know who provides the commentary for their clubs paid online offerings?

I think they are saying Bradford and Leeds fans can't afford new cars. Either that or he's a shitologist. I love the word shitologist, and I'll be using it often in future... Ian Hollowhead is a shitologist, yes it works.

I think the solution to this is that many have sent replies and probably demanding further answers and we should await to see what these answers are. Once those are back, collectively we can look to the way forward if the policy is not changed. I cannot understand why they revert to previous post match commentary and comment for all clubs involved. But needless to say one the replies are back we can look to get the support of HTSA and move this forward.
I would suggest that the next step would be to complain to OFCOM but at the same time get comment from the club. In my view RL is clearly discriminating against section of society, license payers and fans, who I suspect that both Leeds and Bradford fans would say we are a minority. If that were the case then RL is discriminating against a minority.
The stock reply used by Gareth Jones is disappointing, which I am sure was compiled by some "luvvie" from the BBC communications department for him to use. Copy and Paste has saved his bacon today!
We need to act collectively and decide upon a strategy for maximum effect if things do not change, such as placards on televised games like Biased Broadcasting Service, etc.
I am more fuming now than I was yesterday

I have just had this response back from Garth Jones! Dear Wayne I hope you are well. Many thanks for your email and I’m sorry to hear you had problems listening to our coverage of Huddersfield Town on Saturday. We understand that as a Huddersfield Town fan, excited by an excellent opening day win, you will be disappointed not to have heard our post-match programme if you do not have DAB in your car. Working in one of the biggest sports regions in the country it is our duty to provide coverage of as many teams and sports as possible. We try to please all, but understand that this will not always be the case in such a wide, passionate sporting area. We have three Football League clubs to cover on Saturday afternoons this season, and thus will spilt our coverage across our three main frequencies – FM, AM & DAB. In terms of Huddersfield Town being on DAB digital, we have come to this decision for many reasons: 1) DAB delivers crystal clear digital quality. As we enjoy such a long and successful relationship with Huddersfield Town, we believe the club and fans deserve this quality. Baloney... and slightly patronising!2) DAB in the Huddersfield area is stronger than AM, especially in the evening. Our main priority is to ensure as many Huddersfield fans have access to the actual match commentary, and DAB, compared to AM, will ensure that. Never had a problem with AM before.3) We have consulted with many Huddersfield fans and the club itself on this issue and the response was clear – Huddersfield fans would prefer DAB to AM. Who? Where? When? Why was it kept secret until the day, if it was going to be so popular?4) 80% of new cars have DAB fitted as standard and DAB adaptors for car radios and personal, portable DAB radios are widely available too. This means DAB in cars is very accessible. I would suggest 80% of us don't drive new cars with DAB.I can assure you that BBC Radio Leeds greatly appreciates the loyalty of Huddersfield Town and their fans over the years. We have reciprocated this loyalty by being the only media outlet to provide consistent match day coverage of Huddersfield over the last 8 years. There are other media outlets, with a remit to cover the Huddersfield area, who have elected not to cover Huddersfield Town. I can also assure you that our commitment to the club and Town fans is stronger than ever. We have provided a dedicated Saturday Huddersfield Town programme, 2-6pm, for the past three seasons. Town feature regularly in our weekday West Yorkshire Sport Daily programme; and from this season will have a dedicated monthly Town special on a Wednesday. All Huddersfield pre and post-match interviews also are uploaded to our website, meaning they are available to all fans 24/7. If you look at other stations that have large sporting patches like us – Radio Sheffield, Manchester, London and WM – they either rotate which club they commentate on or simply do not commentate on certain teams at all. Their pre and post-match programmes are also joined up; meaning each of their clubs may only get 10 minutes of coverage. At BBC Radio Leeds we have striven to do more for fans – we provide commentary of every game for all three of our Football League clubs. We have dedicated programmes on Saturdays for all three – meaning each club gets 4 hours coverage, rather than 20 minutes! I hope this helps explain matters. Thank you again for the email and here’s to a great season for Huddersfield Town Gareth Gareth Jones Sports Editor - BBC Radio Leeds & BBC Kick Off Trainee Reporters Twitter: @wysdaily Address: 2 St Peters Square, Leeds, LS9 8AH My comments in bold. Your comments in bold are brilliant. Send it back to the patronising prick with those included..

I got same response also. Which didn't actually answer the questions I asked. 1. Why only DAB when only 2 teams playing 2. Why not put it on listen again especially as the Wagner interview has a link to the programme it was from but sent you to the Bradford prog.
My response will be, 1.please answer the questions asked 2.does this mean that htfc week retain DAB when it has become the norm and MW has died a death. 3. Will they share their research with town supporters or do I need to send a freedom of information request.
