You have a handbag? I always had you down as a bloke. Well done... It was a rucksack containing life-saving medical equipment which I could carry in a much smaller bag if I was a female! A normal person would maybe reply that it was a backpack. I have a feeling you've given a similar reply about a terminal illness, to attack someone before, where it wasn't deserved. whilst I wish you the best, is there really a need to bring this up to try to discredit someone? It leaves a bit of a bad taste, even if true. No need.

It leaves a bit of a bad taste, even if true. No need. I don't believe I have- it's a life long condition, not a terminal condition and I shouldn't really have to justify myself to you- I wasn't trying to score points and I'm not really sure why you are either. It is a PITA having to open my backpack/rucksack (tomato/tomato) as I go through the turnstiles but I'm happy to deal with it if it stops some asshole bringing flares in to throw at the pitch. As for "trying to discredit someone" I'm not sure where you've got that from, but it seems you've decided to take issue with something somewhere. Why not just live and let live, eh?

I clicked on this thread thinking it was about Arthur C. Clarke, only to find out that it was about 20001, not 2001. In reality, it seems there was more than 2001 spare spaces, which seems a bit of a Space Odyssey.

Only thing I can think of is they've only sold 1000-1500 so far and therefore we've decided to change that allocation

The segregation space is bloody ludicrously wide.
At Wolves it's a strip of about 3 seats

spoke to a friend who supports Bradford and after describing to him how each section of the ground looked to me, he used his City gate estimator and concluded we had just under 47 thousand in the ground..
well done to all...especially the 24/25k who would have had a very restricted view..
as city do, I think he used numbers of people who would like to have gone, have ever turned up even for one cup game and anyone in or near the City centre for any part of the match...

Well if Town are saying our fans can have a section of the SS and Wolves are saying they have a 3900 allocation, then one of them are wrong- and it will be Wolves id have thought!
Theres an advantage to be had maybe, but its an expensive one, costing something like £60k in lost income for these games where the opposition would probably sell out.

It's a gamble by DH, 60k per game is nothing if by not allowing away fans a full end behind the goals helps us get to where we want to be....

Can the club count season card holders who don't turn up towards the official attendance? If so should they be allowed to?

Theres an advantage to be had maybe, but its an expensive one, costing something like £60k in lost income for these games where the opposition would probably sell out. That £60K figure is ambiguous. I think we were selling circa 3700 tickets to Leeds etc last season. Barnsley had 1930 approx yesterday if I'm right. So we had lost revenue on roughly 1800 away fans. Not every fan is an adult, some will be concessions. Then there's the VAT and stadium rent - that equates to about 30% of the ticket cost, plus other deductibles. Then factor in the amount of fans that are coming along, and part of their decision to attend is influenced by having home fans in the SS, and the impact that has on the players and results - Wagner says it does, before anybody suggests I'm saying this due to my involvement in the NSL. If our home attendance is up by 500 on average for every game this season, that will nullify the losses of limiting the away attendances for 6 matches. Evidence so far suggests that the home support is turning up, and long may it continue. Credit to Sean Jarvis and everybody else at the club who keep promoting the ticket sales to drive attendances up, if we keep getting gates like yesterday, and picking up wins at home, I can't see any reason to contemplate changing it.

Great point graham....as for SS being sold out. I came past at 245 and folks were being turned away. It also looked as near as damn it full from my seat in the south kilner.

Credit to Sean Jarvis and everybody else at the club who keep promoting the ticket sales to drive attendances up, if we keep getting gates like yesterday, and picking up wins at home, I can't see any reason to contemplate changing it. we averaged 11,053 home fans last season, approx 8,300 (?) SC holders so approx 2,700 pay on the gate.. In the 2 home games this season we've averaged 17,923 home fans of which 15,023 are SC holders so approx 2,900 pay on the gate. This must be encouraging because despite the cheap SC offer we are drawing in more pay on the gate fans than last season...albeit after just 2 games. Regardless of the fact attendances are all 'tickets sold' now, with almost 3,000 'casual' fans coming along and 15,000 SC holders we're within only 2,500 of a full home capacity when we give over the SS to away clubs. I'd guess most of these 2,500 remaining seats are single seats, in the ends of stands, or FM lower..so what I'm saying is it's getting a bit 'tight' to fit in many more casual fans in seats they might want. Is this part of the reason why the SS is being restricted to 2,000 for away fans ? Having thought about that it brings me back to an issue raised before, that the club don't know which seats are left empty by the SC holders choosing to go in the SS..so there's approx 1,500 empty seats around the stadium that will remain unsold and unfillable unless the club some how try to find out where SS fans have come from. At the moment maybe this isn't an issue, but if another 2,000 or so home fans decide they want to come down it might become an issue.

16,119 was the actual number of spectators in the ground today. So why did the official attendance come up as 20001? It's OK 'cos 3882 Town fans rang in sick...another 2000 Barnsley fans said they wished they'd done the same

Wolves will get as many tickets as Barnsley.....at best...The atmosphere is rocking at the moment and starts in the SS and works its way around the ground....The fans demand a performance at the very least from the team in return for investing their hard earned....equally we should encourage the best from the team with our input...Sing out loud as if no one is watching
