How much was it to go to Leeds this season? I'm sure I paid £36 & it was worth every penny Thats the point I am making, for those that are critical of the cost. There is no difference in price nor the stadium facilities really. I have seen this morning that Leeds fans are moaning that Barnsley are charging them £36 but it appears that Barnsley asked each club first what they would be charging them for their visit. This was then accompanied by a photo at Leeds in the away section, which is right at the back and which you can only see 50% of the playing area.

Oh Leeds charged that too? Oh it's alright then, SWFC take my money.

But some fans might say 'I can only afford to go that high once a season at best'. What's so wrong with that?

Ridiculous. Especially with the PL being capped at £36. Yeah but Massive equals massive prices regretably but well worth it it if we turn them over. PL prices are pony because they don't actually need gate receipts - that is what is so unfair about Sky and football finances generally !

Aye, I did go. A game that's closer to home for me costing me very little in travel. Sheffield Wednesday costs more. Sheffield Wednesday is just after Christmas which is a bad time for most, especially being self employed in seasonal based work. I apologise for not having as much money as you and for not being as loyal.

I don't blame anyone for not going to Weds game but its wrong to dress it up about been about principals when the decision not to go is actually due to lack of funds. I've seen a lot of this on Twitter from people I know go to Leeds every season. It's almost as though Leeds away is considered some sort of cup final by some.

I didn't go to Leeds and I'm not going to see the Wendies, both because of the cost. £30 is as high as I'm willing to go for a league game. The only time I can ever recall paying more than £30 for a league game was Ipswich this season (£32.50) and that's only because I'd never been before. Hillsborough on the other hand I've been to many times. Never paid more than £30 and have no intention of doing so now. Much rather put the £36 towards Rotherham and Barnsley in Feb.

So you don't think it's a big deal paying six pound over what we charge them. Aye, they might as well round it off to fourty quid, whats four quid? Have you ever heard the saying, the straw that broke the camels back? Well that's what this is. £36 to sit in a shit pot stadium, and looked after by south Yorkshire's finest, no ta.. It's not forty quid though is it? It's £6 over the top which I think can be justified this season. The price you paid for an away victory at Hillsborough in a promotion season will be long forgotten come May Six quid for one ticket yes. I buy two adults and two u 17s. Fair whack that, yes I can afford it but fuck me it's more than six quid for my family. Maybe they don't want bigger numbers of away fans..... just like us!? Price obviously matters and I agree the cost of football is far too high but was really just trying to say that with the momentum the whole club has built up this season we need to get behind the team on the pitch and in this case it's going to cost us a fiver or so more than what is probaby acceptable in the real world.. in a season where both loyal and irregular supporters have never had it better in terms of cost. But they have an away end that's double the size of ours. Town are doing everything to fill there stadium with home fans, Sheffield Wednesday's pricing would suggest they aren't. Town have two catagorys, A and B for away fans. Ones £30 and the other is £20, Sheffield Wednesday charged Bristol city last season £52.

I know what he was saying - '£37 at Leeds, £36 at Wednesday... what's the difference?'. I'm saying - 'what if £37 is as high as you can go only ONCE a season?'
Just because there's only a quid difference in these prices is an irrelevance in that scenario.

But if someone's saying that they're not going on principle then surely it must be the same for both? That was his point. The scenario you're describing isn't down to principle, it's the cost and not being able to, or wanting to, afford both.

It's just too poor a ground for me to enjoy the football. There's no parking, no room to sit. Poor match day experience.

I understand the principle thing and the cost thing but this season of all seasons, let's try to support Town whatever - it might be us that makes the difference.

Without swerving off topic, I hope we sort out once and for all what we're doing with the SS and the away fans...losing 900+ seats probably hasn't bitten us yet,but come Newcastle, Villa, Leeds and maybe some end of season games, it will. Stick away fans in the FML - it's perfect for them... [end of rant]

Are me and my mate the only ones going? I'd rather you didn't announce that you're going to away games, our away ticket sales seem to stall everytime you say you're going.

All this nonsense about I'm not going cos it's too costly,so you people expect the rest of us to go on your behalf or do you want us all to boycott the game in which case surely it could be counter productive and detrimental to Towns performance when playing in front of virtually no support,if you don't want to go for other reasons, fair enough but use the cost of a ticket to let Town down? come on!

I'm going , pricing from SWFC is a rip off to both their own fans and away supporters however I am not going to let this stop me being there - this is a season when the players are rising high and getting over what ever is put in from of them and lets continue to do the same.............oh I have a good mate who is a Wednesday fan and he is threatening to quit going due to the high pricing for home supporters , their chairman has made it public that he will put his hand in his pocket but expects the supporters to also pay the price""............. It is with great pleasure that I discuss with him the differences in our chairman.
We are truly a brilliant club with a brilliant manager , chairman and supporters............. Let us continue to be the club that let's nothing stand in our way...UTT.

It's just too poor a ground for me to enjoy the football. There's no parking, no room to sit. Poor match day experience. This. I know some of the more ageing grounds have that old school charm about them, but Hillsborough is just crap full stop, and the surrounding area is fucking awful. The JSS may not be amazing, but at least we don't charge teeth pulling prices and have stupid bloody pillars blocking the view. They desperately need a new ground.
