Surely a very welcome 15 million in the bank is far more use to the club providing it is eventually spend wisely by someone who knows what they are doing. Player sales + next years parachute payment go towards the new white seats. Parachute payments for the year after are allocated also, they are going on some new nets, footballs and corner flags. Diakhaby & Mbenza says he'll spring for the corner flags. It's only fair when he's smashed the f**k out of them.

Seen those figures before. That website often posts very precise figures. Where are they getting them from? If a website is able to get seemingly exact figures why do clubs bother with announcing transfers as “undisclosed”? Town are as bad as anyone on this. No doubt Billing will be undisclosed. They can’t be educated guesses or all due to pound-euro exchange rates. In the case of Mbenza and Bockhorn the figures may have been converted from euros leading to precise numbers. If Mbenza really cost sub £5m with or without loan fee I will look at him less cynically in future. He's a Town player so you shouldn't be looking at him cynically in any case, you should be supporting him. That's your only job. Plus, why would you blame a player because the buying club paid a figure that the selling club set? Footballers don't pick their price tags and shouldn't be judged as such.

Good luck to the lad. Don't get the point for some people on here holding a grudge against the kid...
Meanwhile I hear that Bury are gutted that their chief Shout, sorry chief Scout Oti couldn't broker the deal for £150k and a pork chop for every goal from Tommy Watkins Butchers...

More tackles per game than any of our players last season and 15th best in the entire Premier League last season. If tackling isn't a great strength of his maybe he's a far better player than most people are making out. I presume you watch the games - do you consider Billing a strong tackler? If you were asked what his attributes as a footballer are - without recourse to a stats website - would you have listed tackling? Stats...the stats on the Town website has Hoggy down as our top tackler. The very detailed stats at Whoscored.com have Billing down as our “best player” last season. Statistically speaking. They also have Zanka second best and Mounie fourth best. What does that tell you about stats vs real world? 😉 I like PB as a player, just can’t see where he will be fitting in to Bournemouth’s style of play. The stats might say he’s a good DM, my eyes tell me otherwise. Maybe I should have gone to Specsavers 😎 That's the thing though, it's perception as a fan that's lead you to think that about him but clearly compared to the rest of the Premier League he is a good tackler. He wasn't just statistically our best player, his fellow team mates said he was our best player as well. I think people see him with his style of movement and think he's lazy and can't tackle or get stuck in when the facts say otherwise. He does make good tackles but people see what they want to see. As for Zanka and Mounie, Zanka was good at what a defender does tackles, clearances etc that can't really be argued but he made mistakes. Mounie was good at what he is, a target man but we didn't really play to his strengths and his confidence in front of goal was completely shot which as fan is what you concentrate on from a striker and if he's not doing that right he's shit. They aren't bad players but they aren't popular. I actually think Mounie and Grant would make a really good partnership, there wouldn't as much pressure on Mounie in terms of goals which would probably lead to him scoring more and I think Grant would play well off him. Going back to Billing I think he's a better player going forward but clearly has it in his locker to play deeper.

I think you’ll find both billing and smiths money goes towards this years wage bill. Thanks for that HTAFC's financial director. Very witty The chairman has spoken about the fact we’ve basically already spent the first parachute payment. Anyway as I said ‘I think’. You know it’s an opinion on a forum

I can remember shots coming in when he has halfheartedly turned his bum toward the ball with no real chance of stopping anything, whereas Hogg would have thrown himself at it. OK, not all players are Jonathan Hogg but when it hits the fan players need to step up and I can remember numerous occasions when I didn't think he did. I really hope he is a success at Bournemouth and that he goes on to have a good career, not for the add on payments but because it would mean he has sorted himself out and realised his potential, which would be great.

You could make Des Hamilton look like Bryan Robson if you picked the highlights of 6 years for a 2 minute montage.

Good luck to the lad but has he really achieved anything special in moving to Bournemouth? He’ll be playing in a packed house of 11k week in week out, well done lad! It will at least be a bit warmer down there

You could make Des Hamilton look like Bryan Robson if you picked the highlights of 6 years for a 2 minute montage. But a premier league club never came along and offered £15m for Des. Perhaps clubs don’t buy players on the strength of a 2 min YouTube clip?

He might be playing in front of only 11k at home matches, but they will be against Man U, Man city etc etc. In the Premier League every other week on a wage you and I cant even comprehend. . I'd say that is far and away beyond anything a Town acadamy product has achieved in odern times. What have you achieved?

Indeed, If the two World Cup squad boys hadn't returned with delusions of grandeur, Obviously agents in their ears,, Billing would have pulled his finger out and earned a move to a right club,, I reckon he didn't think he would end up playing for BMuff,, Nice area,, Small fry,,,, If he starts off like a house on fire, How long till he states "stepping stone",,, They will have had enough of him after 4 months.

Hes obviously burned his bridges with Town and thats evidenced in a lot of opinions about him as a player IMO. For me, he was one of the few we had who actually looked comfortable at prem level. His languid style hides how effective he was in terms of distances covered, tackles, clearences, etc as the stats prove. In today crazy market i think £15m is actually about £5m light for him, but when its so clear to all and sundry that he has no future here, to the point he wasn;t even given a squad number, then that is obviously going to effect his price. In the end, taking that into account , then £15m is a decent enough price. Be interesting to see how he gets on at a more established prem club. But they are taking a chance on him because of his attitude, or perhaps because hes been easily lead by bad advice.. maybe an agent or family. He could go on to be a top player if he gets his head right, so hope we have a decent sell on clause in all this. Very comfortable sat on his couch at home 4 the last few months while the other lads were playing on matchdays!!! lol
