I find Huddersfield's newly found hatred for Wednesday very strange. We haven't been in the prem for years and accept we don't have a right to be back in the Prem. What i would say is we have a very loyal support considering how poor we have been for the last 20 years. We are a well supported club but that's about all now. Until we get to the premiership then We can't really say we are a big club however i do feel that if we were to get to the prem will a bit of in investment we could be a top 10 side there. That's a long way off from now though. Town have no hatred for any team. What we do hate is the arrogance of some supporters and by far the worst are Wendies and L666s. There is an overwhelming sense of entitlement amongst the supporters of both clubs. 2 months ago L666s fans were talking about automatic promotion and then edging their bets by putting deposits on London hotel rooms for Wembley. They even made a play off song. During all this they found plenty of time to slag off little old Town and repeat the mantra from August "Their bubble will burst" A very brief glance at Owlstalk has the same cocky attitude with at least 5 threads on how you are going to win the play offs and breeze past Town 'cos you have already beaten us twice!! Aggregate scores of 5-0 & 6-1 are being mentioned. You even have a thread on playing Reading in the final. Humility certainly isn't a word the majority of fans on Owlstalk have ever heard of. You need to get one thing straight. We are a small Town club of which we are all very proud. We have over achieved this season and it has been a joy to watch us at times. The vast majority of fans thought we might be good enough to get in the top 10 and we would have been chuffed to bits with that. The play offs are a dream for us and again the vast majority are just going to enjoy the ride and see where it takes us. We have no sense of entitlement and no delusions. Ask yourself why most neutrals want Town to win the play-offs and why 11 of the 20 Premiership clubs want us to win. It's not for easy points or to see us fail. It is because we have humility. Just remember. It's not the size of the dog that counts but the fight in the dog that matters. So you've been and asked every fan of every prem team who they want to go up and they all say you? Talking rubbish mate. Just because some fans think we will beat you it doesn't make us arrogant. Im sure if you had finished the season strongly and in form you would think the same. 1000's of people go on owlstalk so pretty daft to judge all Wednesday fans because someone started a thread about us playing Reading in the final. Why shouldn't we be confident anyway? As everyone keeps saying on here we have an expensively assembled side that beat you twice and finished above you. Added to the fact your form over the last 15 games hasn't been very good. This doesn't mean we will win though as anything can happen in the play offs. We have no right to be in the premiership and don't expect to be. As for you going on about how small a club you are, you're not really are you? You're an established championship team now with a pretty good following and one of the highest average attendences this season. You've also spent money on players such as Wells at a time when we had no money so l let's not pretend you're some none league minnow. You've a very good side for this level with a good manager and it should be a very even contest.

Just read this excuse on the Wednesday forum:
"I can't make the playoff final as Mrs is going to see Take That @ Arena so it's nailed on we will be going up and I will be looking after kids wishing I was getting sozzled with everyone else"
And this is the SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY forum. They have the most loyal fans in the universe.
Can you imagine the grief if someone posted that on here?

You have to understand our average home crowd is artificially high by the cheap season tickets and publishing all STs even when they do not attend. You can probably knock 3k off that average this season, and if we had £350-400 STs as normal, even this season would probably only average 14-15,000. You can see this by the perceived lack of interest in the first leg. I have been going since the mid 70s and for the vast majority of that time Town have been in the bottom 2 divisions, so I do not see us as established at this level, I always think our natural position is top end of the third tier.

I think I could be forgiven for saying in my opinion, mid table in this second tier is the least I would expect us to be. It's an age thing.

Even when we both had that great season in league one i thought you were playing below your level in terms of the size of your club. Football would be very boring though if average attendences decided what league you are in and what ever league you are in you deserve to be playing there. I do feel though that if we went up we could compete and at least stay up. It was so frustrating seeing Hull go up and barely have a go until they changed manager.

They've been playing dour, tedious football all season and are coming straight back down without laying a glove on anyone. They spent a truckload getting back up to the Premier League only to put 10 men behind the ball against everyone.

The problem with you lot are that you have no real rivals and you don't have that much of a history. Kinnell, talk about clueless.
I'm not Huddersfield but anyone with any idea of the history of Association Football knows that Huddersfield Town are iconic as being the first team ever to be English Champions 3 years in a row.
Steeped in history far more than Sheffield Wednesday.

Probably none but at least with Leeds we actually give a toss about them. This obsession from Wednesday has been going on for years. They must be loving it this week cos they've actually caught our attention. If you ask any Leeds fan they say that Huddersfield are obsessed with them and I now can see where they are coming from . Loads of town fans over on owlstalk telling us how we all think we are a big club etc. Think the fact that your only real rival is Halifax so you crave for a rival . Your like a bloke with no mates but want to be a mate with a more popular guy. Oh fuck off you sad c***! You're a pathetic WUM who is probably only on here cos your own fans think your a c*** as well! You and Weeds are all scum. Wouldn't be surprised if you met up under cover of darkness on an evening to wank each other off whilst whispering to each other how "massive" you both are!!!! Go on, piss off you slimy bastard!! COME ON TOWN, LETS DO THESE TOSSERS!!! UTT!

I have no beef with Wendies. I think others championship teams' fans have been jeaelous of the spirit at hudds this year. Leeds had a bit of team spirit for first time in years but Wendies are just a collection of highly paid players. They've never really looked convincing this year and it must've been frustrating to see Brighton push on with a much better team ethic and manager.
I see Wendies now a bit like town were under Clark- underperforming and lacking that togetherness. They made it into play offs eventually but if they don't progress this time there'll be changes at the top because carvalho(sp?) will be gone but he won't be getting poached like Wagner. If we start well tomorrow the dissenting away voices will get onto players backs and it'll be even worse on Wednesday.

Enjoy the games lads. I genuinely hope you go up if we don't. You do seem to have developed a hatred for us though which will make it even worse for you if we manage to beat you. I think you are wrong when you say we have no team spirit. We have won loads of games late on and from a losing position.

No hatred from me, certainly not in comparison to Leeds or Bradford, or even the likes of Birmingham and Peterborough. Just mild irritation and bemusement at the sense of entitlement among the majority of your fan base (obviously not you personally, you seem level headed and fair).
