The lad was brilliant last night, 4 assists and 1 fantastic goal. Glad he is doing well, but huge gulf in class too.

Hallelujah, someone with a bit of football knowledge.👍🏻 The gulf is bigger than ever and gets exponentially bigger every season. If we keep going as we are then we will become one of the established top 20 biggest clubs in UK. Every year prem teams grow further away from their championship rivals. There are a few bigger clubs remaining in the championship (though they appear to not play within the financial rules -Villa) Otherwise it’s teams who’ve had prem money in recent 3 years eg. Boro, West Brom, Swansea etc.. I do think soon it’ll be the same 3 that come straight back and then it’ll become a fixed league like NFL. The financial disparity is too much now. If you’re a championship club now is the time. Every year it gets harder. You only have to look at the same match for another example of this. Tammy Abraham scored 5 goals in 31 games in the Premier League. He scored 4 last night.

Did we have a buy back on Joe? What's his value now? Diakhaby £11m? Mind you most on here thought he was crap....and we all know DATM knows best don't we? No, but there are plenty on here that make sweeping statements, such as 'most on here thought he was crap'. I suspect most wouldn't have expected him to be good enough for the EPL and a fair proportion of these for top end Champ, so a lot are or may eventually be proven wrong, but both of those are still far from thinking he was crap. Wolves and Fulham were ripping the Championship apart and look how ordinary we made them look (including after a load of investment). Yeah, he couldn't do much worse than our new recruits have to date, but I wouldn't be putting a bet on him being a regular if he was here. PS - I'd be delighted for him if he does eventually make it!

Yes, as in firing or launching. Archers "loose" their arrows. Grammatically correct. It's a word. But it's not in the right context. Loose is setting something free, releasing and usually associated with intentional actions. (Such as "he loosened his belt") Lose is misplacing or letting go of something, usually unintentionally ("he lost his keys" So that sentence should be losing. If it was an intentional shot at goal it would be "VLP let the ball loose aiming for the top corner" (one for the Stuart hall commentary however)

Yes, as in firing or launching. Archers "loose" their arrows. Grammatically correct. Don't they loose them when they fire them but if someone takes their arrows off them they lose them ? So Raj looses the ball when shooting but loses the ball when he's tackled 🤔😉 EDIT : Blue & White beat me to it 😁

It's typical DATM that we have finally hit form in the PL and have a massive December coming up, yet the thread at the top of the page is about an ex-(bit part)player who is plying his trade in the championship !

Tbf he's probably THE championship player at the moment and I'm delighted for him. I'd have loved it to work out for him here but shit happens. Just glad it's going his way now.

Massive difference between championship and premier league thus the reason why Wagner sold an out of form premier league player cheap to a championship club .
Town have other out of favour players that could most likely do the same at a lower level

I will be honest, i would be very surprised if Forest let him go, unless it is a stupid offer, they are pushing for play offs, he is definitely their biggest threat going forward and with the Championship as open as it is they have a strong chance of top 6. I'm glad for the lad.

Naaaah, the 'experts' on here say he isn't good enough for the Premier League. Mind you, under that useless excuse of a Manager Powell he was only good enough for the last 4 minutes of a match with us in the Championship.

Town have other out of favour players that could most likely do the same at a lower level There is, and especially for that type of 'flair player'. Tom Ince is about as good an example as you can get. Stands out in the championship yet had a few goes in the prem with various clubs and not made any impression with any of them. In Lolleys case i think his progression up the pyramid was just too quick for him to keep pace with. Uni team to Kidderminster was a big leap, then another to Town, then low and behold hes in the prem with us, so another massive jump. Needed a step back and he seems to be really thriving. In another year or so he might be a player who could cut it in the prem, but if hed stayed here at this level i don;t think that progression would have happened. In hindsight, we should probably have loaned him out. Certainly hes starring in the championship and if we wanted to buy him now, we'd be paying something like £10m at least.

Only on DATM.....
Lolley struggles to make an impact at Town in 4 years - the club progresses to a level beyond him at the time and he is sold - he stars for his new club at a lower level and some posters want him back or say it was a mistake to get rid.
Sobhi et al, also struggle to make an impact in 4 short months and same folk want to get rid - I assume 6 months later if they are doing the business elsewhere they will want them back too.

Lolley doing much better at Forest than he ever did for us in that league, something has obviously clicked. I've seen the goals from last night and previous weeks and he looks fitter and more athletic than he ever did playing for us. Maybe its the way the team play, train or maybe he's just finally managed to get himself properly fit. Good luck to him and I really hope we have a sell on, if he carries on in that form he may get a big move. Bet he enjoyed last night being a Villa fan too! Or maybe it's just he's playing against poorer opposition. Although I should also say I like Joe and would at the very worst, only have loaned him last January. ... and I think ( hope?) my posting history would reflect that.

Think with hindsight we can see that Lolley has come to the end of his issues with his shin splints, there was evidence that this was occurring even last season when he made a few cameo's. He's not good enough for the prem, BUT, he would be an option to have on the bench, to throw on to try and salvage a goal in a tight game - he's proven he can do it at this level, and he is definitely proving he can do it in the championship without question. As I say, I don't think the kid is a prem player but when we are bringing in players that now look suspect, it does seem like a bit of an error, plus, would he classify as one of the homegrown player requirements? I know for sure I'd swap him for at least 3 of our current squad players.

Plus he had ongoing issues with shin splints - well documented. Besides, I've not written either of those two off, but I tell you what come the end of the season I'll have a fiver with you that neither of them has scored more PL goals than Joe.

Just as Joe had finally recovered and was fitter than he'd ever been, we sold him. In fairness he was under too much pressure and the move has helped him to regain his confidence. What a goal he scored last night!
