Saw a bit of Sobhi in the Pre-season game against Leipzig. He looked to have a good touch and fair bit of skill. He might be on the slow side but there's no point in having bags of pace if you can't trap a bag of cement (Diakhaby).

What I can see here we've wasted an entire seasons budget on a pile of shite.

Sobhi is up there with Sabhiri on my 'disliked player' list due to his endless Instagram posts posing with his 'Bros'. At least some of the other players who post endlessly display action shots on the pitch and working in the gymn. Winds me up no end !

All we needed to do was with a few fringe player exceptions keep the squad together that kept us up last season. There must have been a brilliant Team spirit in the dressing room to get the results at Man City and Chelsea we did when on paper these matches were a mismatch of huge proportions. That achievement of staying up and dressing room spirit would have carried on in to this year.
Add in perhaps one Wide Man that can cross a ball well and potentially we wouldn't need one but maybe one Striker. Not a grafter or a target Man. A goal poacher, a Dwight Gayle 'right place right time' type.
Two Players, tops. Three if you include the excellent capture of Kongolo.
Oh, and Play Pritchard.

I could deal with relegation but to go down due to sheer incompetence will be a bitter pill to swallow. I thought those days were over with the man we have in charge but goes to show sometimes you're only as good as the staff you entrust to get things done (and pay a small fortune to do it). We're dealing with humans here so never any guarantees, I can accept a hit rate of much less than 100% but to have none of the new lads ready to start in October is a disgrace. Cue the usual crap about writing players off too early and waiting for them to come good which is totally missing the point. I wonder what Dean thinks. |
