One man's puddled is another man's genius. My form at CVHS? Yep, form D with various R.E teachers as our form tutor. Last time I saw you was probably in Calistos or the Plaza as an almost legal drinker about 25 years ago. I've been living abroad for the best part of 20 years, but my parents still live in Golcar. I usually get back a couple of times a year. I was, and still am, shite at football. I did spend a lot of time at the doctor/infirmary as a kid, but no arse fingering involvedš±

Apologies to anyone reading this who was genuinely interested in the fate of Collin Quaner, and inadvertently stumbled onto friends reunited. Taken to P.M.

Just been told that Alex Neil rules Super Col out as he wouldn't train at the same time as the rest of the PNE squad??? Which sounds utterly bizarre. Apparently Quaner said "I am not training at those times"....
source is a PNE season ticket holder....

Or more likely Town in no hurry to loan him until replacement is signed & sealed.

Find that highly unlikely given that Wagner has our lot training more than 90% of the teams in the football pyramid, and at a variety of times.

I read it that SuperCol and his agent probably think they can do better than Preston (not as a club but money/location etc...). As for Hef (I know this thread isn't about him) but why would you/anyone go to QPR?

That was exactly my reply - he probably said "you lot are a half hearted bunch of part timers" - but joking aside I thought it was an odd tale...being widely discussed over in Lancashire though.

Probably lost in translation - isnāt the story that he simply stated he couldnt train from the first day heād be expected to, as he wanted time to āsort stuff outā first? Ie...assuming PNE wanted to sign him today and get him started tomorrow so heād get to know them and be in contention for this weekend, heās maybe said, āsorry, I canāt start until Sunday/Monday...I need to get stuff sorted out (even something as simple as childcare could cause a few days delay if suddenly expected to work from a different location, no matter how much money you have....footballers are people too).

I'd imagine most championship clubs employ people to look after the new signings these days with regards to kids schools, housing etc & afterall He's moving from Huddersfield not Brazil. Wouldn't even have to move home.

But I work primarily in Huddersfield (from home) with short notice work typically in London, Salford or Hungary that I can usually hit next day even if crops up evening before...HOWEVER, if someone said I had to now go and work in Leeds or even Bradford permanently for the next 3 years starting tomorrow Iād be struggling....and Preston is far more painful than those locations in terms of logistics....especially if I wanted to continue working in Huddersfield...which I do. And especially if I could maybe put a few feelers out in the next 24hrs and get a more preferable move to Norfolk or the south coast or Sheffield instead.

What Super Col actually said was " I can't get a train to Preston for that time"

And especially if I could maybe put a few feelers out in the next 24hrs and get a more preferable move to Norfolk or the south coast or Sheffield instead. What absolute twaddle. You have a lucrative working contract with two years left on it....your employer doesnāt really need you but canāt really force you to leave as that would mean writing off a couple of million quid and theyāre not stupid. Because you work in a heavily and probably illegally restrictive industry, youāre only able to go and start a new job somewhere else by 5pm tomorrow, otherwise you have to wait until January before you move....(although you could potentially move to a new job overseas and not start for a couple of weeks). Your employee has agreed a deal to transfer you to an employer in Preston....a particularly dismal place which is a bit of a nightmare commute from where you live currently. Are you seriously saying youād go to Preston rather than get your agent to push a few buttons and get a job at a ābetterā club, knowing how much that club would need to offer to get Town agree? And whilst knowing that if you canāt get something ideal agreed, you could potentially just get a loan until Christmas whilst spending more time on it. Throw in that because of the vagaries of the industry you work in, your NEXT contract is quite probably your last, and youāre almost definitely heading down hill, youāre effectively 4 years away from returnement, and thereās only one person writing twaddle, and thatās you and your expectation that Collin Quaner should jump at the first hasty deal thrown in front of him...especially when heās good enough to have played in more than half the Premier League appearances for the team youāre contracted with and weāre not talking about a Tom Ince style deal and his percentage on a Ā£10m transfer.
