That’s easy for you to organise his life for him. But I work primarily in Huddersfield (from home) with short notice work typically in London, Salford or Hungary that I can usually hit next day even if crops up evening before...HOWEVER, if someone said I had to now go and work in Leeds or even Bradford permanently for the next 3 years starting tomorrow I’d be struggling....and Preston is far more painful than those locations in terms of logistics....especially if I wanted to continue working in Huddersfield...which I do. And especially if I could maybe put a few feelers out in the next 24hrs and get a more preferable move to Norfolk or the south coast or Sheffield instead. You'll never get that contract at PNE now! Happy days. I’ll spend my time watch my mates play at Town and see what I can get lined up in January or next summer.

You have a lucrative working contract with two years left on it....your employer doesn’t really need you but can’t really force you to leave as that would mean writing off a couple of million quid and they’re not stupid. Because you work in a heavily and probably illegally restrictive industry, you’re only able to go and start a new job somewhere else by 5pm tomorrow, otherwise you have to wait until January before you move....(although you could potentially move to a new job overseas and not start for a couple of weeks). Your employee has agreed a deal to transfer you to an employer in Preston....a particularly dismal place which is a bit of a nightmare commute from where you live currently. Are you seriously saying you’d go to Preston rather than get your agent to push a few buttons and get a job at a “better” club, knowing how much that club would need to offer to get Town agree? And whilst knowing that if you can’t get something ideal agreed, you could potentially just get a loan until Christmas whilst spending more time on it. Throw in that because of the vagaries of the industry you work in, your NEXT contract is quite probably your last, and you’re almost definitely heading down hill, you’re effectively 4 years away from returnement, and there’s only one person writing twaddle, and that’s you and your expectation that Collin Quaner should jump at the first hasty deal thrown in front of him...especially when he’s good enough to have played in more than half the Premier League appearances for the team you’re contracted with and we’re not talking about a Tom Ince style deal and his percentage on a £10m transfer. Preston's a nightmare commute but you'd happily go to Norfolk ?!! 🤔😱

Funnily enough Big Coll wouldn't look out of place in Norfolk.

I wouldn’t choose to move from here to Preston so it would be a horrible commute.... ...but if I could line up a move to go and play for Norwich I’d happily go and live in a hotel for a couple of months whilst looking for something more permanent. (I’m sure there are lots of nice places to live within reasonable commuting distance of Preston)

Legend in his own life. Scores two and four assists, get him on our bench.

I noticed that he is in the squad photo for this season. It has only just been taken by the club.
I suspect that he is named in the 25 man squad but the chances of him playing are pretty slim. We would need to have about 4 injuries to wide players.

I'm kinda glad he didn't go. I think there's room for improvement in his game (no shit Sherlock) and he might just do it.
He's already a decent secret weapon.

For what it’s worth, the up to 25 man EPL squads were submitted last Friday, but won’t be publically released until 1st of September, to allow for edits to be made due to the window for outgoing transfers and loans to Europe extending until the 31s of August.

Pretty poor standard overall, last goal is the pick of the bunch,
Quaner starts it and with some smart movement and a fine through ball from the lad out wide beats three men on the halfway line in a one two....advances to box then cool as you like picks Kachunga out to finish.

I know they are a non league team with limited resources but from the state of their pitch, at the start of a new season, it would appear they've had concerts by both Littlle Mix and Big Mix there recently.

First goal was offside. You have to question what is the point of playing teams of this standard. Its hardly going to enhance their developement.

When they arranged the fixture I don’t imagine that Town envisaged playing Kachunga and Collin

First goal was offside. You have to question what is the point of playing teams of this standard. Its hardly going to enhance their developement. the purpose is to get the U17s and U19's playing against phyically stronger mens teams on less than perfect pitches. It gives then academy lads a different challenge/problem to solve. As the poster above says I cannot imagine that Kachunga and Quaner would have been thought off for playing this game initially. The events change things. Kachunga needs game time as the next step of rehabilitation from his injury. Colin needs game time to stay sharp if his is to go out on loan. They both end up getting run outs in this game.

At least they are being professional about it, some players at other PL clubs might have been spitting dummies out thinking it was below them to play in a developement side. If they go out on loan or maybe permanent moves in Jan I'm sure they will not make a fuss of it.
