After one of Depoitre's near chances towards the end, Mbenza chased down a bloke like a cheetah. Couldn't believe he even got close to him but won the ball. Tough for him, coming on for his debut already a man down. I won't judge him too harshly.
Diakhaby I felt was just largely anonymous

I think we need to be more flexible in the type of players we recruit. We need a snodgrass,Adam, or brunt- people who are proven to deliver quality balls from set price and open play. Now they do not have the engine to geggenpress but we’re bit going to score any goals with Flo doing the crossing.

He was atrocious today and not just his crossing I'm not his biggest fan but Smith would be starting until Durm musters the energy for an appearance

Both looked a bit scared to get involved I thought winger needed the ball in front of them to run onto, at the present time we don’t get theball forward quickly enough for anyone with any pace to have an effect on the game. I am watching in Spain and thankfully my internet connection failed with 20 mins to go not moaning but that was very poor.

He’s not good enough defensively and he has no composure or natural crossing ability. He always hacks it in. You don’t score goals in this league by doing that. In the championship maybe. I’d have spent at least 3/4 of out budget not on wingers but on wingbacks/fullbacks. Crucial for our system. If Durm is not a significant improvement on what we currently have then we will struggle again to create any chances. Oh for a Robertson or a Brady or even a Chilwell.

Although he struggled to get involved Diakhaby did look to have some nice skills and was very comfortable on the ball when he got it. I'm sure there's a lot more to come from him.

That’s it, let’s slate a couple of young lads on their first start. They’ve had a whole month in England so they should be winning games for us immediately.
Thought it did Diakhaby no favours being tucked in so narrow so often. Flo did fuck all with those floated balls down the line despite getting in time and again - that’s how we should be releasing these two new lads, getting them in behind.

DATM favourite Flo has been poor for quite a while now Been massively overrated from day one IMO. Quicker than Smith but worse in every other department. Recruitment is starting to look very iffy but it's obviously early days. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards

At one point he had a good five seconds to settle and fizz a cross in and instead he just dinked it up lovely for Morrison to head away for the thousandth time

Van la parra is our best winger how can we get rid Kongolo was our best winger today! He and VLP combined have the potential to be a real threat. I thought Diakaby looked lively and confident when he got the ball albeit still a work in progress. It would be unfair to judge Mbenza given the circumstances

Was impressed with the pace of Mbenza, tremendous speed and tackle when tracking back. Diakaby showed some good touches but lets give him a chance given it was his full debut Agree thought Kongolo has improved massively when coming forward. Today I think both of these lads and VLP would have benefited from Pritchard playing

Diakhaby left 2 players for dead but the ball had run out of play, we never gave him the opportunity to make a similar run afterwards

Diakhaby left 2 players for dead but the ball had run out of play, we never gave him the opportunity to make a similar run afterwards We've passed it back to Lossl ten times before we consider a forward pass but by that point the opposition have every one back behind the ball We need to get back to zipping the ball about one or two touch. It's painfully slow and has been for a long time now.

Flo is let down by whoevers played infront of him.... needs a kachunga type whos willing to work off the ball. Flo was let down by Flo. I rarely give a player a kicking but he was atrocious today, particularly second half. Terrible crossing, repeatedly spun by Cardiff players, shite passing and poor decision-making. Personally, I liked the look of Diakhaby and how can we judge Mbenza on a cameo in that situation? Therefore, I conclude that this thread is a crock of fucking shit.

Despite some dodgy moments VLP was the best winger we played today = and Flo’s crossing was shocking. Biggest errors came from this desire to pass back to Lossl all the time - even free. Kicks at the centre circle end up back at him - ridiculous to be the case all the time

Diakhaby left 2 players for dead but the ball had run out of play, we never gave him the opportunity to make a similar run afterwards Do you think his performance today was an upgrade on the “chuckles brothers”? Joe Bennett, a championship left back marked him out of the game. He didn’t make a single exciting contribution - I want him to do great but today it passed him by The one time he did get away he looked lost/ panicked and played an awful pass to no one He’ll get better I’m sure but I found nothing really noteworthy in that full debut
