It's fuck all to do with us,were light years from it,at least we might score the odd goal if the top 6 or 15 fucked off Mr negative. Imagine the Millbridge plane to Milan. Take off from Yeadon, stop at Lutterworth, then on to Italy. Captain moaning about the young kids leaving shit under their seats. Yellow bird at 30,000ft, landing at Rotherham on the way back even though nobody wants to go. What's not to like.

Having a top level euro wide league makes a lot of sense. But no relegation is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. The last half of the season would be filled with pointless matches. But a league of the best teams playing each other week in week out, more even top divisions across Europe and the chance to see a team like Man U relegated has my full support. What's not to like? Relegated to where?

Relegated to where? Back to the premier league to be replaced by er Burnley? That will go down well in Madrid or Munich. It can't work so they will close it.

I’d love this to happen. Good fucking riddance. Amen brother, would breastfeed new life into the Domestic game. *I meant to type 'breathe new life', but my phone autocorrected to 'breastfeed', which I thought was better.

Probably the most appropriate thread I could find for this one... Ramos is one of those guys who brings the game into disrepute every time he walks on the pitch. No doubt he'll be held up as one of the greats after he's retired... www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47236607

Been saying it will happen for 20 years. I went and saw FC Goa last night.....a world away from Indian football just 5 years ago. Bands, chanting, big screen, fireworks and decent foreign players. Standard was about Division 1. A few years back it was Conference North.

It's the inner boastful bastard that you need help with. Sort that & you'll be OK... It's interesting you mention foreign players. I'm guessing they're journeymen pro's? As for standards improving, it's all the developing nations that are doing well that 20yrs or so ago were seen as minnows (Croatia in the WC final for instance). They've been brought up on a coaching mindset that focuses on the technical aspects as opposed to this country where the mindset of effort and physicality is eventually being phased out... Unfortunately the technical aspects also seems to extend to cheating...

Football is eating itself but its just fodder for the masses now like Hollywood films have become. A lot of journey pro's yes....and a few Nigerian frauds. This guy was outstanding the other night. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edu_Bedia

Apologies for links to long reads however, the German sports magazine Der Speigels' investigative journalists have spent months pouring through leaked high level football data/documents and are now starting to drip feed their findings which make explosive and very interesting reading.
Creation of a super-league, pulling players out of their national teams, turning a blind eye to PSG and Manchester City; the revelations are real eye-openers, and if it comes to fruition, a monetary death knell to anyone outside of the elite as the rich clubs strive to discard the minnows and take the money and run...
And the FFP leeway that is given to PSG and Manchester City.
.
This is a series and they're going to release more and more of their findings over the coming weeks...
I think its a great idea, not for the super league clubs but everyone else. Greed destroys, how the mighty will fall when fans get bored and not willing to pay a fortune to watch mediocre soccer.

But is it about the fans or is it the TV rights and revenue from these streams. Atmosphere and fan income is incidental to the TV funds.

Surprised the Beeston Massive aren't mentioned in there - after all WACCOE clearly thinks they should be

Thought this was the most sensible thread to post this on. I've not read the full piece, but the comments from the European clubs and they quote Woodward at Man Utd, just strikes me as a bit hypocritical. All of a sudden the European big boys are going to have to share the spoils a little further and wider here. Anyway, this looks like another nail in the coffin of big clubs competing in domestic leagues in a few yrs time... FIFA, football for the few... www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47586593

Anyway, this looks like another nail in the coffin of big clubs competing in domestic leagues in a few yrs time... FIFA, football for the few... www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47586593Read it through and think about just what Infantino is proposing. I don't know what that guy is drinking at his FIFA meetings but he sure does seem to be off his head. Concerning extending the World Cup in Qatar from 32 to 48 teams like he has already pushed through for the North American World Cup four years later is a good example. Madness! He says "If it happens fantastic, if it doesn't happen fantastic also!" Give that man a slap on the back, or even better a slap in the face. The Club World Cup involving 24 of the best clubs from all continents is due to be held every 4 years from 2021 onwards to replace the current Confederation Cup, i.e the warm up competition traditionally held a year before the World Cup takes place. What has a new club competition got to do with a competition for national teams? How can you replace one with the other? I really want to see the UEFA clubs stand firm on this and refuse to take place.

And from the opposite ends of the spectrum to the small fish; wound up for just £7.5K...
