They might if they can then sell him on for £35m Nobody is going to offer them £35m. Surely £35 is an arbitary figure. If someone offers £26m they'd still make a profit

Nobody is going to offer them £35m. Surely £35 is an arbitary figure. If someone offers £26m they'd still make a profit I think they would make more with the sell on clause if we sold for £26m (somebody put 22% earlier in this thread). If correct they would get around £5m of the £26m rather than the £2m profit they would get by buying him back and selling. I think it would be over £30m they would need to sell to make it worth there while.

Interesting how people will react. My father in law is a lifelong chicken fan. Started watching them in the 50s so most of that time they were utter crap. Not even the best club in bradford and constantly struggling at the arse end of Div 4. He watched their 2 season in the prem, then the following season, which he found a struggle to keep his enthusiasm, then lost interest and stopped going. Just couldn;t motivate himself because they'd 'done it' and for him that was the impossible dream tat would never be repeated and left nothing else to dream about. Bit different for us now though because of parachute payments and of course the chickens got themselves into a financial mess trying to stay in the prem that Dean won;t allow to happen. Must admit that the Championship promotion campaign and bits of last season did feel a bit like, “this is as good as it will ever get”, and it’s history now. Being honest, I’m not 100% sure I can really summon the enthusiasm to continue the journey. I’ve been a season ticket holder since 95 (barring two seasons) and a regular since the 80s...so definitely watched and supported through much worse times...but that was always with the backdrop of the hope of a future impossible dream. (throw in that my lad, who has been going since age 3 has lost interest now at age 18...a lot of the reasons I’ve kept going over some of the rubbish recent times are because it’s something we do together...remove that and it’s another “reason” to just commit the football time to some of the other stuff that I do). Thats sad but I can understand it. Very similar to my father in law. Think we just have to believe that it ISN'T as good as it will get. The next 2 or 3 seasons are going to be pivotal for the club as to what sort of club we are for the next few decades. We could do a Burnley, or Cardiff, and get ourselves back up during that time whilst we have the advantage of the parachute payments. From there we could become one of those yoyo clubs between the prem and championship. A spell in the top tier.. a spell in the 2nd tier , a spell in the top tier....and so on. Boro, Norwich, WBA, Derby, Burnley, Sunderland, etc, etc there are loads of them We might have another 2 or 3 spells in the prem over the next couple of decades. But if we fail, we could end up returning to what we were. A yoyo club between the 2nd and 3rd tiers and we'll never see the prem again. Bradford, Barnsley, Oldham, Swindon...a few of them too. It doesn;t make much difference to me. Can;t think of anything I like doing on saturday more than going to the football so it doesn;t really matter how good or bad we are. The games and results are just a part of it, not the whole thing.

Going to be a big effort to move these. Wonder what the incentives will be for early purchasers, if any? I did not manage to get a season ticket in the Riverside lower where I wanted to sit ,however with all the bleating going on this season I am certain there will be some fans who "cry off", hopefully making it easier to sit where I want. Every cloud has a silver lining , and all that.

I will be buying mine as soon as they go on sale as per usual.
And I’ll be buying mine if and when we end up in league 2 again.
The only time I will stop is either when I can’t afford it or i’m dead, which ever comes sooner.

400 "away" points for anyone renewing their season ticket before the initial deadline expires as a bonus?

Nobody is going to offer them £35m. I agree unless Mooy has an absolute stormer over the next few months. How good is Mooy? Australia's best player, possibly best ever, certainly the best player I've ever seen play for Town, stand out week after week in a crap team. Remember Mbenza is worth £13M, I'd say £35M for Mooy isn't over the top although we sadly wont get that. Imagine Mooy in a team full of real quality where he doesnt necessarily have to work his bollocks off and defend all game.

I think the only thing that will affect any upsell value via a route back to Man C & then sold on again, will be dependent upon how much Man C want to launderspend....

Next season, if things are done right (its a big if bearing in mind recent decisions), we should be one of the best teams in the championship with one of the bigger budgets, that is totally unprecedented for Town so there is plenty of attraction for the proper long term fan next season. Not sure how we'll get bums on seats for the rest of this season though, is anyone looking forward to Man City?! This season is the stuff of nightmares, keeping me awake at night already and we've been playing the relegation fodder around us. I don't think there will be an issue getting bums on seats for the Man C game. Bar maybe 3 games this season we've generally been quite competitive & it's not really been a backs to the wall/The Alamo type scenario in all these games. I appreciate we're unlikely to get anything from this game, but I'm sure it won't be for a lack of trying.

It's been great having the exposure and other fringe benefits, but people need to avoid getting sucked in by it...

Prices "frozen"? Judging by the animation they've used on Twitter?

If they are frozen then that is an excellent price yet again from our club.

Considering there will be a lot less tv money coming in if we go down then keeping same prices is a pretty good deal, maybe parachute payments can be used to offset the reduced income but we will need money to build a stronger team whatever happens.

We still get £90m parachute payment. Agreed though it’s a bargain in today’s silly football money.

Not advocating that prices should be any lower as £249 is great in anyone's book, but do remember that the price for 2016/17 #Wagnerrevolution campaign was £179 and the ground was far from full each game. Let's hope some of the 'new recruits' to fandom have got the Town bug and are willing to pay the same price for championship football.

Let's hope some of the 'new recruits' to fandom have got the Town bug and are willing to pay the same price for championship football. If people baulk at paying less than £11 a match to watch probably the most competitive league in Europe (assuming we get relegated to the Championship - not the best league but very very competitive) we really are snookered. Our support has been good but has been heaviliy subsidised by Dean Hoyle through promotions for a number of years - we have a hardcore of very loyal support but a lot of them are old farts now so we really need new blood. Getting fans into the ground really does require an upturn in performance on the pitch. Man City get ribbed for the Emptihad - maybe the best team of a generation playing wonderful football and advertising tickets for all games bar the Top 6 on national radio. Heard their fans state they have a hardcore of 33-35k who have followed them through thick and thin. We are the same just on a slightly smaller level (8-10k maybe). The only daytrippers we are likely to pick up are students of forensic science due to the plethora of active crime scenes in and around the town.
