I thought he was excellent at Brighton. Enough pace to compete at this level so he’ll be fine next year. Much better touch than I was expecting. Put it this way I had some friends watching on sat and I asked the 5 who didn’t know who they thought was the £10M+ man. No-one picked Moonie.
Grant will be good for us next year. Whoever signed him deserves credit esp if only 1-3M. If we can keep our defence and midfield together, we’ll be automatic promotion contenders.
In fact if the side that’s started and played first half at Brighton(+Mooy) starts next season then I think we’ll bounce straight back.

I tend to agree but its a big if and also a lot depends on how good Jan is. Some very good squads in the champ but means nothing without a good coach/manager.

Much as it distresses me, I can't see Mooy being here next season. He won't be short of offers and is just too good and at a stage of his career where he won't want to be going backwards. Best I can see is Dean giving him a good option - say, no wage decrease and give it until Xmas to see how we are progressing and if it's not good he would be free to go. I'd be gutted to see him go, but he deserves to play at the highest level, and if he does go then we need to get some serious ££££ for him and use it to get wisely.

I'd be sad to see him go.... but he looks far less effective in seiwerts formation compared to Wagners where he was absolutely pivotal. Not saying we wont miss him, hes great, but given the right recruitment we could actually get someone in more suited to quick forward play. Either way it will come down to £ notes and we aren't in a position that anyone can have our pants down.

We're going to be the big fish for a change, profile higher than it's ever been, money to burn, a manager who wants to play attacking football. I have seen posts, and chatted amongst fellow fans, "top 10 if we're lucky", "be happy with 4th bottom" Where does that doom and gloom come from? I'm expecting automatic promotion straight back to the Premier League. I don't see any other scenario.

I guess the doom and gloom comes from a perception that we’re probably quite a bit worse in terms of squad quality NOW than Stoke, Villa and West Brom have retained in their Championship squads. Likelihood is we’ll lose one or two decent players to make it worse, so we’ve got work to do to even catch back up with those teams that aren’t exactly walking away with the Championship. And that’s before you even consider clubs starting to really build some forward momentum like Boro, Leeds, Derby, Forest, Hull, Bristol City etc...plus IF Cardiff manage to escape (unlikely), then that’s at least one other club with a bigger and better squad than we have. Make no mistake, it’s going to be a tough old season, although I’d expect/hope we’ll be somewhere amongst the 9 of 10 clubs mentioned above rather than the bottom half....that might mean automatic or play offs, but just as likely means finishing 8th.

I agree, and would prefer a season consolidating with a top half finish to immediately challenging. We got promoted too soon with an unbalanced squad, one that’s probably going to be even more unbalanced by the end of this season. We need to get quality in across all positions in the squad and get a lot more cutting edge, so that if we can go back up again we’ve got more of a chance of getting established. The players that have established Bournemouth in the premier league are pretty much the players that got them promoted - buying players like Callum willson (£3m), Ryan Fraser (£500k or so) in the championship and giving them time to develop gives a better chance of success than buying Mounié (£10m), Diakhaby (£8m) in the premier league for a lot more money and needing them to win matches for you straight away. We don’t have the pockets for that in the premier league but we should now have the ability to do it in the championship, and Grant is just the sort of player to buy.

Striker is the youngest to score in all seven domestic competitions
- Huddersfield Town striker Karlan Grant sets goalscoring record - Forward is youngest to score in all seven domestic competitions - Karlan also sixth youngest scorer in all four English divisions
With his first goal in Town colours back in February 2019, Karlan Grant set a record in English football as the youngest player to score in all seven domestic competitions!
The 21-year-old, who joined the Terriers from Sky Bet League 1 side Charlton Athletic in the January transfer window, was awarded the goal against the Gunners at the John Smith’s Stadium by the Premier League after it was originally given as an own goal.
In netting that goal, Karlan cemented his place in the history books as the youngest player to score in all four English divisions and the three domestic cup competitions at 7,722 days old.
Grant scored in the Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League 1, the Emirates FA Cup, the Carabao Cup and the Checkatrade Trophy for Charlton.
His Sky Bet League 2 goal followed during a loan spell at Crawley Town in the second-half of the 2017/18 season, when he netted nine goals in 15 league starts.
Karlan’s debut Town goal against Arsenal completed the magnificent seven!
There are only five players who have scored goals in all four English divisions at a younger age than Karlan.
- Ian ‘Chico’ Hamilton is the youngest, scoring in all four divisions at just 7,242 days old - Saido Berahino - Matt Phillips - Matt Jansen - Robbie Wakenshaw

With a front two of Grant and Diakhaby & Mbenza we would rip s**t up next season.

He's just fed up of a poor season...but he isn't alone feeling like that.

out of the thousands of posts ive done over 10 years on here how many are miserable? I don’t for one minute think you are a miserable person in general, as Mids says, I’ve read your posts for years. You are recently very miserable. I don’t trawl through people’s posts but I bet out of your past 50, at least 40 are miserable. Up to you what you do, I am just answering your question.
