He’s been going for a while but his post suggests that something has been agreed. It’s the modern way I suppose but wonder when we can expect an announcement from the club? EDIT: on a plane yesterday. Note to self - check Town website before logging on to Datm.

Gone and I presume that all parties are pleased with that outcome.

One thing worth noting...
He was the only Town player ever to score at a World Cup and for that reason alone he will always be remembered.

Now you mention it, I did always think to myself 'i've never seen a heterosexual male with teeth that white before'. And he did buy 1000s of blokes a pint that time which made me think he was on the pull.

I think Zanka is one who will, in the not too distant future, be remembered fondly by the great majority of Town fans. Like Mooy, he put the name of our club on the highest stage.  When will be the next time a Town player scores in a World Cup? (Or, indeed, [not counting Mooy at Brighton] plays in the world's most demanding league?). Zanka had style and charisma. He could even play a bit. I wish him all the best for the rest of his career.

To be fair to the guy it did sound like his international coach was putting pressure on him saying he wouldnt play for Denmark if he stayed in UK and wasn't playing at top level. You can argue all you like if the level he will be playing at now is above, below or same as Championship it looked like he had to move on if his international career was to continue. In a day when overpaid megastars are sometimes seen to be tossing off their international duties in favour of their clubs its refreshing to see someone taking playing for their country seriously. Or he could see we were going a bit shit and just wanted out. ;-)

Terrific first season, poor second that never recovered after long World Cup. Crazy as it sounds works cio fatigue was a big factor in our relegation. Zanka, Mooy were shot and Lossl supposedly got fat and we played 10 vs 12 with Hamer in goal for a few games. We never recovered from that start really.

Can't agree with your analysis. Up until December, the Mounie sending off and the Mooy I jury htfc were a highly competitive premier league side . What we never recovered from was December.. then losing Wagner

Ah right so the overweight thing was a smokescreen. This is what frustrates me sometimes- the lack of transparency. Whatever had gone on playing Hamer was never the option for the club though. He had played 4 games in free years- to suddenly throw him in the premier league was crazy and we were rightly punished.

I don't get what you mean by 'oversight'. To be fair I wouldn't expect the club to make players personal dealings with the club public. That would give players carte blanche to do the same.

I just think the club including leadership were just not ready for the premier league and we were out of our depth with negotiating, contracts, managing expansive players, agents but most of all scouting and selection where we really were embarrassing.
