Interesting choice for his interview! He's going to Austria too, maybe he'll be patrolling the training pitches making sure Billing et al are earning their corn  Doesn't appear to be the type to take any! Maybe Jarvis persuaded him to wear the new top |

A scary interview-Me me Me me Me.....What the hell is he doing going on the tour to Austria?To look over the shoulder of the manager,players etc?Step back Phil for Christ’s sake.....You either believe in your full management team or don’t.If results go well you will keep them,if not you will sack them.Thats your main job as an owner.The players do not give a stuff about you and never will.Trying to look like the new manager,not owner squeezing into that stupid shirt makes you look ridiculous.I still wish you all the best but that interview has been poor for me.

It may be that he’s heading out to Austria to try and maybe speed that process up as people will be together in a tight group before then maybe taking a step back on his return having got the early doors meet and greets out the way and focussing on other duties whilst having addressed the players/staff closely. Although the training gear for the interview wouldn’t be for me in a chairman role it is a personal choice and one that i genuinely don’t think was anything other than an intentional stunt to present a “hands on” persona to the interview. |

Anyone popping down to the Odeon tomorrow to listen to what our new chairman has to say in his first Q&A? what ever he says some will still keep moaning and question his motives . its a good pr exercise but I'm happy with what he has said so far but a lot will moan and make false accusations but I wonder how many will put the money where there mouth is and stand up and ask the question. they like to spout on here. I'm sure the club are waiting in anticipation! |

There will be posters on here that have been moaning and groaning about Hodgkinson and the club in general who live locally, and could make the q&a with relatively little effort that can’t be arsed to go along and ask a question themselves. They’ll then come on here and ask what he said, then moan some more. |

Jeez...it was to illustrate a point, stop getting so defensive! I don’t really care if the number is 2 or 2000. The point is that we’ve never in our history been a club of such lowly standing thar signings are officially kept back, with players hidden away, and announced at a fans open Q&A forum. Professional football clubs don’t unveil like that. Of course, tonight could be different, there’s a big screen there of course and it might indeed be a good place to show a reveal video to help with the mood of the room ahead of opening up to the floor, just I highly highly doubt we’ll do such a thing. |

How they come across in a few prerehearsed soundbites is the tip of the iceberg. Ultimately whether they have been a good chairman can only be viewed in retrospect so have to let them get on with it and see how we go.

And to answer the other inconsequential point from the other poster, this is exactly why I, like the vast majority of Town fans, have never attended (and never will) one of these Q&A things. They’re aimed at and attended by very small subset of our overall supporter base. For some reason not having been to one seems to be a “you’re not a good supporter then...you can’t voice opinion or ask questions as you didn’t bother to attend the q&a” label. Over 17000 of this coming seasons season ticket holders won’t be there...are none of us worthy?! |

I think we're at cross purposes here. I haven't said anything about signings being announced nor do I expect there to be. The event is a Q&A session, all the people with concerns about the way the club is being run can throw their questions directly at the top guy. |

Agreed which is the basis of my earlier mail.He doesn’t need to try this hard,just step back a little and get a feel of the whole club.Dean obviously does trust him which I guess is the main issue.Q and A stuff for me is not necessary.Let Jan get on with it and support him firmly but behind the scenes.Interviews and Q A scenarios have been the retrospective death knell of chairman,football managers,administrators,businessmen and politicians.And yes I do wish him well but it’s easy to hang yourself in these situations.There are far smarter people than me in media who will jump on any slip up though I accept his career in the sharpest end of law does prepare him well.
