Have I missed something from the New Chairmans Q & A this week. When he says that is YOUR £200m - its all gone. I have to admit I don't really understand WHY its my £200m - just sounds like he is a guy with no money and Dean sees him as the only guy to to take club on. Get more and more concerned with a Chairman who seems to distance himself from the fans and a manager who does the same. really? I'm not sure about that

I'm not sure about that So the chairman who did a Q&A yesterday is distancing himself from the fans? The manager who has made himself popular with the fans out in Austria is doing the same?

Did anyone else get the feeling from yesterday, that this transfer window was far from closed. Waiting for deals to be sorted higher up the pyramid which will mean clubs have money to spend on our players.

Not sure about the working class club moto. One is positively middle to upper, don't you know, and i'm not sure we need to be identifying with the riff raff. One thing that PH did go into last night was the new marketing branding of: Working. Class. Club. Which he had some graphics to talk through (he actually thanked SJ for the new branding). He discussed the slides and went through the thinking behind it. One thing that stood out was that on the second slide were several images from Southampton/St Mary's stadium. He went on to elaborate that the agreement he had regarding changing the seat colours, cleaning the concourses etc. with KD and KSDL went a little bit further and we were going to add our own graphics/stamp onto the stadium and add our own graphics to concourse areas; the Southampton images were examples of the sorts of things we were planning to do I think...

So Wagner bought in all the players bar Bacuna and hired Rebbe and despite the fact we have/had a head of recruitment, a head of football ops and a chief exec Wagner hired the lot of them and made all the decisions. Wagner must have been putting in 24 hour days being head coach plus doing all the scouting, hiring staff, doing due dilligence on new players etc. No wonder he was too stressed to carry on. Its amazing the club gave all that responsibility to one man. I presume you're just being an arse on purpose to get a reaction, but just for fun I'll bite. What PH confirmed last night was that all the signings made last summer we're made with the involvement of DW and he had the final say. The only player that was signed last summer without his involvement was Bacuna. DW obviously didn't do all the work on the transfers, but it was his ultimate decision to sign all the players except for Bacuna. Every transfer is a gamble, you're usually selecting players based on them being successful with another club, with a different coach, perhaps different system, even a different country and/or language. However, to request wingers/wide-men, OK the transfers of the players and then change the system before giving them a chance to play is not the best use of the clubs limited resources to say the least. Being an arse eh, charming. You could read my post and comment on it but you’ve just chosen to insult me then spouted a load of predictable, irrelevant guff, I think we all know how transfers work thanks and the associated risks. My point is I think it’s naive in the extreme to think Wagner was solely responsible for bringing in 4 sub standard players and I think blaming him in public is a bit off and smacks of passing the buck. He’s an easy target though since he’s no longer there. I also think anyone expecting those players to suddenly turn into world beaters now that nasty man isn’t there to block their path and play without wingers is going to be very disappointed. Not sure why you think this view point would ‘get a reaction’, it’s hardly controversial is it. You’re allowed to think for yourself sometimes you know. Or you can just swallow the line that it’s all David’s fault, if only he hadn’t given the green light to sign those wingers and then decided not to play them we’d still be in the premier league. Surely he should have known they were all crap or maybe when he saw the evidence he should have played them anyway since the club had paid good money for them and waited until they magically turned into premier league footballers. Get real!!

This is a superb idea and something the stadium has always been missing imo. It’s sometimes felt a bit generic and not really like home. Can’t wait to see it, I remember thinking how good the stadium looked in blue and white with the t shirts on the seats. Should look very nice on Sky under the lights!

What I'm reading from the chairman's Q&A then is that:
1. There will be outgoings and these will then dictate incomings.
2. Prospective replacements have been lined up.
3. Star players, might not move until later in the window and we are prepared for this.
4. He is quite happy with the squad the way it is at the moment.
If we keep this squad, in my opinion we will be there or there abouts.

I doubt it.

I'm not sure this formation suits our players, to me it appears we have the players to play a 442 formation. If I'm honest I'm not really sure Seiwert is doing himself any favours deploying this style based on the current squad.

Your post was saying that he was the ONLY person working on the transfers and that he must have been some sort of super coach doing all that work. That's obviously not true, but you made it the centre piece of the post. My point was that all the transfers other than Bacuna were agreed by him and therefore as head coach his overall responsibility. Just like the ones made this summer become the responsibility of JS.

Ironic. Again your point doesn't address the one I made, perhaps you don't understand what I was getting at, anyway never mind I'm bored now and don't have time to spell it out to you. Lets agree to disagree, assuming you are disagreeing, I'm not too sure. I bet that bloody sash was Wagner's idea too.
