I agree it's good to discuss it and I agree you're entitled to your point of view. I'm just saying that it often appears negative to me. Nowt wrong with that is there?I guess not although I wouldn't agree and I must admit I do find being labelled as negative by people I dont even know slightly offensive (and its not true!) To be honest I've always been the eternal optimist where Town are concerned but its just not blind optimism like many on here. I don't think there's anything wrong with questioning things. Incidentally do you have a positive slant you could put on the fact the training ground plans are being 'changed'?

I guess one thing maybe not fractured in is that a bigger facility will cost more to run, meaning less revenue each year due players etc. Seems the pitches are being prioritised over gym and recovery facilities as it sounds like it's the main building that is being delayed the gymn and recovery areas are in place.

Quotes from the interview with SJ, paraphrasing here.
"The pitches are coming along nicely, that's phase one."
"Phase two is developing the academy pitches over the river."
Phase three is on the building
"Not actively involved with the project on a day to day basis, Julian Winter handling the project."
"Whilst it's not shelved we are looking at how the model might work better, that might suit our needs at this moment in time, with a view to escalate should we go back up, or should I say when we go back up. Those discussions are ongoing as we speak."
"When will it start, not too sure but some of the work has already started (phase one) and development of phase two."
"Not shelved, refocused. Have faith in the board and the board will make the right decisions to take the club forward."

Wow. A lot of statements there that I didn’t know. The club can’t afford the £20 million complex. The money has vanished. Whoever said the plans are shelved are bang on. I am sure you are right but where do you have all this info, I presume the club have stated this? Or is it fake news?Have a listen to the podcast and see what you think, be interesting to hear your interpretation of what Sean said. I’ll take you word for it.

Without wishing to come over all "Roy Race" on this but when the plans were announced for this major upgrade it was seen as a legacy of our short stay in the premier. Money was being set aside for it instead of being blown on a player who may or may not keep us up, just so that we had something concrete to show for the PL millions. Now, all of a sudden we are having a "refocus"? Something is rotten in the state of Denmark and it's not just Jonas, Zanka and Phil Bil.

I know that SJ is Sean Jarvis but who is JW? Sorry to appear thick. (Sometimes I wish that people would not type in "shorthand" ) Julian Winter i guess. Yes sorry about that JW = Julian (there is not much to fix) Winter

If this really has been shelved then it is more small thinking from Huddersfield Town and there need to be honest explanations why. We were told last summer if we stayed up then the extra money would secure the training facilities, not if we stayed up for 20 years!!!. To go back on that other than putting in a couple of upgraded pitches is a disgrace. We were told this investment would help secure the future for years to come. Attracting players, managers and investment was all to be enhanced by the improved facilities. All teams we are looking to compete with have better facilities than canalside. Thorp arch was as good as our proposed new facility and they have just committed ÂŁ31 million to improving it. This looks like Phil 'I can afford to take the club forward' Hodgkinson is using the ÂŁ21 million to buy the club from Dean.

But why would this involve Hodgkinson as Dean has always said he would pay for it and if the club wanted to buy it in the future he would charge a peppercorn rent! Time will tell, but agree it would be ashame if after two seasons in the premiership we have nothing to show for it.

I think people are going over the top.
Take a look back at the original plans and building schedule, it was always set out over 2 years.
Year 1 was the construction of state of art desso pitch with viewing gantry, a 2nd full size pitch, redevelopment of the two existing pitches (4 full pitches in total) plus the building of the other bits of training pitches.
Year 2 is scheduled for the building of the new buildings and conversion of the standings buildings into their new roles (the academy).
All the pitch works seems to be continuing as per the schedule.
I will be interested to see what changes are made to the proposed building.

It seems like people are finding any reason they can find to have a dig at at the new owner when the guys barely got his foot through the door yet.

Everything on track but there is an amendment to the building design from three floors to two because stadium office staff don't need to move to Canalside as htafc is getting more office space at the stadium. Scaremongering and blaming PH can now cease

Planning decision hasn’t even been granted yet...and when it does hit next stage permission will almost certainly be conditional on further considerations falling out of the varied consultation responses that you can read here...some of which indicate more work required before approval would be supported.. www.kirklees.gov.uk/beta/planning-applications/search-for-planning-applications/detail.aspx?id=2018/93740

Scaremongering and blaming PH can now cease That doesn’t really tally with what Sean said though does it? I guess we’ll have to wait for Julian to tell us. “Refocus and escalate if we get promoted again”, doesn’t sound like merely cutting down on the office space does it? Or maybe it does, maybe the club is refocusing on having less office space with a view to increasing office space if we get promoted again....makes sense eh

Does anyone know about the parking situation then next season at Canalside? Before people go on about use a bus or walk etc etc sometimes it isn't that simple for some. As far as I know there'll be no parking at canalside going forward. Things could have changed I guess “Julian Winter advised due to the building works at PPG Canalside there will be no match day car parking for the 2019/20 season. phase 1 of the development relating to the new pitch should be completed mid to late July when the players return from Austria. New water tank has been installed already and this will be followed by a new energy centre. Investment and upgrades will take place on the academy pitches. Looking at amending the new main building to a two storey rather than three as not a need to relocate stadium staff to the training ground as gaining more office space at the Stadium. Relocating the current users of PPG Canalside to Leeds Road Playing Fields, the Club have met with these groups to advise. Town Foundation already based at Leeds Road Playing Fields planning and work to increase footprint to incorporate all the groups. Currently issues with the surveys which the Club and Council are working on” (this is as per the docs on the planning website that were shared yesterday) New location for matchday Fanzone has possibly been identified, but not publicised as yet.

A bit different from scrapping the scheme then like some on here said. Maybe they should kick Davy’s simply biz company from the additional floor created years ago, and put it to good use with town’s office staff.

Leeds road playing fields that's a fair old hike to the ground. I can't see that been popular.

I'm sure I heard "master of coin Jarvis" saying round the back of the south stand somewhere for fanzone, maybe.
