10 minutes of waffle to tell us that the new shirt is due out the 17th July and that they haven't finalized a sponsor yet.

Don't know why they bother, far too much communication coming out these days. Oh for the days before replica shirts, badges, transfer windows etc....

I'm sure back in 95 (give or take) we had the new shirt on for the last game of the season. The swap over from pulse to Panasonic. I recognise that we're in more complicated times.

Also when was the last time we had the same shirt for more than one season? I wonder if those days will ever return. Anyone know what the longest period we have done with one shirt design would be?

Its just a shirt....i never get too excited about it....all pretty much the same....and i wont buy one. Irons in sponsor fires should have been out there when we survived. Love his enthusiasm though.

Probably one of the few things we agree on Oti. Never got the replica shirts thing. What's your views on the OPE sponsorship? No surprise from where I stand, they needed Town as a vehicle for PL exposure (nature of the beast for marketing/advertising). Of the 3 promoted teams, I'd expect OPE to be re-pitching their tent outside Carrow Rd or Bramall Lane.

Here's a couple of questions I don't give two fucks about:
1. What will our shirt look like? 2. When will we get our season cards?
I don't give two fucks because the answers are:
1. Blue and white and some other colours on the other ones. 2. Before the start of the fucking season.

From what Sean says it sounds like OPE were only in it for the Far East market And people are surprised about that because............ The PL, FIFA & all the shoite & shenanigans continues to flourish, in part (a big part), because they offer massive betting opportunities. When I was young & daft it was about W/L/D, correct score and goalscorers. Nowadays it seems you can wager on the match programme having some humongous/gobber typo's and whether or not Michael Hefele has had a dump before the game, or will sprint off the pitch in the 2nd half, to empty his you know what's...

(& I'm glad you are able to easily resist the pressure) I've not been to Asia to experience the betting markets, but the fact they are there, supported lock, stock & barrel by £m footballers tells you all you need to know about this crazy fucked up world we inhabit... There is always an endgame & an ulterior motive...

On the flip side, I remember in the late 1980’s the kit wasn’t even ready for the start of the season. For the first month or so even the first team were playing in a completely plain blue and white striped shirt. It was rumoured to have been supplied by one of the sports stores in the indoor market !

They needed only a TV vehicle...i could have told Town 1000% they were gone if we did not survive. They stiffed on us price....did you meet them...were they involved in any advancement...who are they? Good riddance.

End of 98/99 season, it was from Pony to the Mitre Panasonic shirt. Home v Crewe I think. We had the pop band A1 on before the match and some pyros. The Rubery era was about to lift off !

Be nice to have a sponsor on the shirt that doesn’t not need to be removed for the kids. As a kid I had the Panasonic, pulse ones etc. We have had 2 gambling ones and an alcohol one since, which makes the kids tops look shite without it. Hopefully a good sponsor not involved in the two mentioned

Defo 95 though too, we were the new kit for the Brum game, both games v Brentford in the play offs and the final v Brizzle

Don't you think having a sponsor on a shirt actually spoils it ?
Where else would you actually PAY £45 to walk round endorsing a product rather than be PAID to do so ?

No, it looks bland, it is 2019 after all and not 1970. It helps with funds for the club and providing its a good sponsor, looks good

West Ham have the gambling sponsor again this season and you’re able to get adult sized shirts without a sponsor, not just kids. Only right really.

With the shirt designed and the sponsor not quite finalised, and therefore the logo still yet to be applied on the front; I hope we’re not going to have the big stick on block logo like we did with the first OPE shirt that did nothing to enhance the look of the shirt. Surely they’ve given this some thought and planned ahead for the logo to fit.

Ope seem a loyal lot. I’m so glad we are still friends with them. We need friends like that. Also the unbelievable concept of a stitched on badge, it’s amazing I can’t wait to see it. I’ve never seen a stitched on badge.
