Hi all-lifelong Shaker (55) here. Pretty desperate times at Gigg Lane with our previous owner (Mr.Day-who befriended your chairman-not necessarily mutual by the way) vastly over-spending and our new owner proving difficult to say the least. Suffice to say we have a winding up order deferred to the 19th June and looking at administration to save the club!. Have seen some crazy Bury V Town games over the years, including 3-3 and 4-4 at our place, the Christmas encounter at Leeds Road, when your keeper was sent off, we missed a penalty and you went on to win 2-1! I appreciate times are tight for many, but if you can afford a fiver or tenner it would be really appreciated. If you can please help keep the dream alive and we might see a few more 'crazy' games between us too! www.gofundme.com/save-bury-football-club Thanks in advance for any support and well done on your 2 year stint in The Prem, especially stopping the 'red-lot' from winning at your place!

At the time though, the level you got him from and his capabilities it was a coup. Probably lost interest with all the shit going on. Hardly blame him

Countless players down the years have gone between the clubs.
Ian Robins was without doubt the best to come here from Gigg lane.

Best of luck to Bury. I missed the 0-6 and 6-0 games, but Bury was my first away game in 65-66 and Town won 4-0. My second game at Gigg Lane was to see Forest win 7-0 when they were European Champions.

I know Day, used to knock about with him as a kid, he's younger than, we used to go to Town games together. We lived 3 doors apart, his sister still lives near me. Not that any of this info is of any use to you but all the best to you, I like Gigg Lane, nice ground.

Day is a property developer, definatley from Huddersfield and was/is a Town fan.
He's made a real dogs dinner of Bury.
I don't think its from the want of trying, listening to a few of their ex players talking about him, they said he was a good guy, mad keen to make things a success but made poor decisions.
Things are bad, he's really messed up, spent alot of money, more than Bury could ever afford.
Really sorry how things have gone, Bury are a 'proper' football club.

Yes the same guy who botched up with the student flats.
Yes he has botched up and word is salaries are being paid that would not be out of place, in the lower tier of the Championship.
The highest earner is a certain Mr.Beckford who has played 16 games and scored 8.
Excellent goals to game ratio but he has only played 16!!
Thanks for your support and comments.

He must be a self made man as it were because his mum and dad had no brass so he hasn't been handed it on a plate, seems it's all gone wrong for him though now.

Been to some right games at Bury over the years. That 4-4 comeback of all time games is in my top 5 away.. Funnily enough me and the wife went over there last Friday to put the two wetherspoons on our list, and we were both massively impressed with the place. Shops galore, descent boozers, and a market to give vegetarians eternal nightmares. More black pudding than I've ever seen before, and pork pies in every direction you looked (came back with a right selection). I hope you survive, I really do. As the clubs at the top get bigger, too many of the smaller ones seem to be slipping lower and lower.. When I think back of places I've been over the years watching Town. Clubs that were once household names, who now struggle to be there once more.. Clubs like Workington, Southport, Leeds, Hereford, just to name a few. I wouldn't want Bury to be on that list..

Shame about the vanity project happening 10 miles down the road.
Those idiots should have taken on Bury/Stockport. Clubs that actually have fans.

Always had a soft spot for Bury and I, too, remember the 6-0 0-6ers. I remember Dean Hoyle saying the 4-4 comeback was his favourite Town match. Good luck,Bury.
