And not forgetting Liam Robinson, who made a lot of appearances for Bury but not many for Town.

We never got that money’: the inside story of Bury’s road to financial ruin
Good article in the Guardian today. Shows we as fans have to be vigilant as to who our owners are at all times.

Football clubs can't keep paying the extortionate wages, going bust, leaving a load of companies (inc small businesses and sole traders) short changed and then reforming under a new holding company.
A well known club needs to go totally tits up for everyone to wake up.

Not disagreeing in any way, but just think about whether you might still have said this if it was Town on the edge of the precipice. Again.

If I take the rose tinted glasses off, I'd have to accept it. However, I wouldn't be a complete hypocrite feeling a bit sorry for myself, because I ain't a fan who demands we compete on the spending stakes whilst also having no interest in what it means for the finances. PS I ain't suggesting you are 😄

He used to knock around with my cousins. Lived up Crosland Moor if I recall correctly? He did. Not seen him for a couple of years. He was at Lindley for a while. I am good mates with Pete and see/drink with him most weeks, never heard of him living at Lindley or have any connection to it, always lived in Crosland Moor far as I'm aware, top lad all round. He retired recently from van driving, a man of leisure now

The more you read the more it looks like Bury could go to the wall. EFL don’t come out of it very well as it looks like they didn’t do the ‘fit and proper’ checks on the owner when the ownership transfer was made. Look at the depth our own PH was put through to ensure his suitability. Promotion manager gone, many of the promotion team gone, only a handful of players turned up for pre-season training, HMRC owed a fortune that they haven’t got. I would be surprised if they play their first league game in a few weeks. www.theguardian.com/football/2019/jul/11/bury-takeover-without-full-football-league-approval-transfer-embargo-efl
