Club is seemingly on its arse. A dog's nose would undoubtedly be twitching. The next few days before Austria are going to be really interesting. I just hope that there wasn't too much of a squabble surrounding Winkler's going. Don't think it's personal, otherwise the wording in Jan's statement would have been different. Must admit though, whilst not twitching too much, I still think we might have to brace ourselves for some form of slight controversy.

We keep appointing invisible men - Moss, Rebbe, Winkler - and then they disappear. Unsurprising but worrying.

Anyway clubs on its arse lads, may as well give it up.... Words said in jest, I know. But, just to clarify, the VERY here is ultra-important: "The Club expects to make a new appointment to the role of Assistant Head Coach very shortly". This indicates to me that the Club is in control of the situation, and there may have been something unceremonious in the (mutual) decision.

We keep appointing invisible men - Moss, Rebbe, Winkler - and then they disappear. Unsurprising but worrying. If you have played any level of sport, clubs go through ups and downs, and at amateur level, survive and fail. Town are definitely on a down, the board can make all the positive noises they want, but the fans and players see beyond the PR and the bullshit and see apples as apples. Can Phil turn it around? Hope so, but lets appreciate the task of turning around a spreading disease in a club.

On the topic of players not liking JSs / Winklers approach to management (I.e. shouty and aggressive); there are some interesting comments and perspectives from Tommy Miller on the latest ‘Under the Cosh’ podcast (shared on here). Multiple times Miller references the skill of man management and notes how certain, successful, lower league managers could not make it at the top because they lack that finesse and it is far more likely to polarises dressing rooms. Of note, they place LC in this very bracket.
Miller, despite falling in at times with Jon Parkins shit chat, spoke really well I thought. Coming from ex-pros, you can imagine the (alleged) impact that JSs style had on a dressing room built on DWs harmony and togetherness (the ‘terrier spirit’) and would have undoubtedly upset a few. I think the higher you go in football, the angry approach is less likely to work. You could argue the final years of Mourinho lend to this argument. I think Sarri did a superb job all things considering, but he too maybe didn’t get the best of his team at times given his approach (Kepa being the biggest on field incident).

Funny you can reply to me saying your name on here, but not when people ask you to name these players you say are coming. Gonna guess you have had a drink and have got brave. Have a beer at footy and a chat with me, get brave then

This could be me putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 but... The players are given 2 days off right at the start of pre season. Is that not a little strange? The weather used as an excuse but Sunday isn't even going to be that warm and you could still train early tomorrow before it gets red hot. Plus they have an air conditioned gym. The same person who said the players had 2 days off also said the management/board were still in working on transfers. After this news tonight could it be that they're all in having crisis talks deciding on the best way forward? There seems to be a lot of similarities with what's going on at forest www.theguardian.com/football/2019/jun/28/martin-o-neill-nottingham-forest-inside-story with players not happy. Billings interview hinted at that along with some other discontent from different players. Wouldn't be surprised if we have some more unexpected news this weekend

The skills of a man manager cant really be defined. I've played and worked under managers that would struggle to speak in a group of 10 people.... then worked with loud extroverts that I wouldn't even tell the time of day
