I mentioned this on the forum years ago and was told to stop being pedantic and soft! I always thought the red was to do with the pulse kit we had in 94? Is it the giants connection? The white looks superb and always should be this way

Hope that this is true, my seat is one of the horrible red ones that has faded to pink over the years.

Ken can bollox at least next season he's likely to finally be chairman of a championship club

Where is this from/when was it taken? Looks much better than the red! It was posted on a town related facebook site, i think from friday nights giants game. Also this one, but looks like the change has just been started. It would not surprise me if we are only allowed to do one or two stands because Davy will still want his piece of the cake and more. I remember a "Close Up North" feature on stadium safety (only a few months after it opened) where they said the red seats at the ends of the rows were a safety feature: in the event of a fire you'd see the red seats and know there was a stairway close. So nothing to do with egg-chasers or short-lived kits.

The giants should just do the decent thing and play in blue and white instead of those monstrous colours. Anytime I see anyone in Giants gear I'm usually muttering "Bantam prick" under my breath until they get close enough for me to realise I need new glasses.

To be fair to the Giants, the colour of the seats probably matters a lot more to them.
You can see thousands upon thousands of them when they play.
Town, not so much.

Would look great in blue and white but I notice it’s the temporary seating, hopefully it won’t be a half arsed job.

Because it's certainly not claret colour.

Because it's certainly not claret colour. OK. I clearly am in no position to argue. I know that the seats are not pillar-box red; they're a kind of deep red which, to me, is a claret colour. I based my reasoning upon the fact that Bradford play in claret and amber, pretty much the same colours as Fartown. And, with us sharing the stadium with the Giants, I thought it appropriate to have some seats of that colour. It all made sense to me; well, used to anyway...

Always wanted the seats to be blue and white and I've always liked grounds that have the club badge or initials on the seats, or like Sunderland's 'Ha'way the Lads'.
It would be cool to see 'The Terriers' across the Brittania Rescue.

Besides, there's only any point doing it if you can't fill your ground.

Try telling them they can't fill the ground...

I wasn't saying they can't- just that there's no point in writing stuff in the seats if the seats are full. It looks shite most of the time anyway and serves no purpose unless you have an identikit stadium like Wigan. The only exception is Preston, the portraits of Tom Finney et al in the stands is a nice touch.

Its all part of the marketing... photos on the pitch, new player reveals etc. Blue and white stripes is the clubs biggest and best known identity, so its great the stadium we play in will finally replicate it.
Well done to whoever organised it. Well over due IMO.

White plastic seats a sign of progress? White plastic seats as a sign of identity? Fatuity in cheap and nasty white plastic. Jasus on a velocipede! Yeah lets get in touch with Burnley, after their latest upgrade a load of claret wooden seats are available, cut price. Giants fans would be ecstatic.
