In my time the only reason I'd go for Deadly Dunc over Marcus is he could score goals from everywhere and he was simply brilliant at times. If he had been blest with speed he'd have never played for Town. Both great players in their own right that have given us some great memories for sure

Ian Robins. How a little fat fella the spitting image of Bobby Ball could outrun and out leap defences and score so many great goals is still a mystery!

Has to be Frank, but Tony Leighton was a proper centre forward and a proper bloke. Plus a shout out for Marcus - not the Dover twat but a truly skilful player.

Marcus Stewart was a pleasure to watch. The diamond in a good team. I was devastated when Town sold him. Showed his class and ability in top flight with both Ipswich and Sunderland. Always happy for him when he scored but it was always with the additional feeling of what could have been had Town not sold him.
James Vaughan was another striker I enjoyed watching. A fully fit and healthy Vaughan would have been a top flight striker in my opinion.
Andy Booth has to be mentioned. His hold up play and guidance of younger players during his second spell was invaluable to that team.

Agree re Vaughan. Such a shame his career was blighted by injury. Another “short term” striker I enjoyed watching was Grant Holt. Pity we had him so late on in his career.

Of the ones that I've seen... 1. Frank Worthington 2. Duncan Shearer 3. Craig Maskell 4. Marcus Stewart 5. Jordan Rhodes However, going back through the years, these have all been bettered by such as George "Bomber" Brown, Dave Mangnall, and a few more besides, not least of whom is our very own Boooooothyyyyy!!! Same 5 for me 😁

Boothy for the amount of goals and being such a great servant. Stewart for his technical ability, Shearer top goalscorer in what were effectively shit teams. I always had a soft spot for Iwan Roberts too, the much maligned Longpockets pushed the boat out to sign him at over 200k when we were 3rd division, granted it was only with the Maskell money. Maskell was a good goalscorer although he never seemed to endear himself to the fans.

Toss up between Jon Newby and Martin Smith for me If you're having a pop at Martin Smith here its a bit harsh because he was a good player but always injured, bit like Mark Barham.

Any old gets watched Dennis Law play for town.
A question,, he scored 6 goals in a match not for town, and ended up losing the fixture.

Craig Maskell is a funny one. As a kid I really liked him, mainly because whenever we got a free-kick on the edge of the area it was as good as a penalty with him taking it. He could finish too. However, when he left and signed for Reading I remember my father being absolutely horrified when he made claims in the press that he had ‘joined a bigger club’. At the time Reading we’re getting gates of 3-4k at Elm Park, it was so obvious they had offered him a ‘fatter contract’. He did move on to Swindon where he did quite well as I recall.

He played for Southampton in the top flight . As good a finisher as we've had . Maybe lacked the yard of pace to make him top top class
