Delroy when he was breaking through into the team and we had a shit strike partnership, remember the whole of the Kilner chanting "Delroy, Delroy" then a huge cheer when he got called to come on. A really exciting talent when he first broke into the side. Blotted his copy book somewhat since, though....

Fletcher and Robins the best pair in my life

Fletcher and Robins the best pair in my life I'd ask the question "What was the highest level they played at ?" Club legends to anyone of a certain age but nowhere near the best imo. Kindon was a better player. Lillis was a better player when he played up front. And since there have been a whole host better . But club legends for sure. It'd be interesting to know how many times they played up top together . I bet it wasn't often . 30 times maybe ?

Not seen his name mentioned, but Len White was amongst the best.

I was going to say Lillis. Another one from that era that I don't think anyone has mentioned is Dale Tempest. Not a favourite as such, but sticks in the memory from my earliest days as a Town fan.

Nice to see Kindo getting so many mentions. The sight of those Lilly white hams pounding down with the ball at his feet under the floodlights put the fear of God into one or two goalies...

I think it was touch and go that he signed, because as always seems to have been the case for the last 50 years, we were struggling for money. I was told what swung it was the chairman at the time bought Kindon a brand new car - may have been a Jetta, but could be wrong.

Nice to see Kindo getting so many mentions. The sight of those Lilly white hams pounding down with the ball at his feet under the floodlights put the fear of God into one or two goalies... The question was, who is our 'favourite'? The young ones on here won't have seen him play.....thankfully I did and he is definately my favourite striker... If the question was, who is our 'best' of all time? Surely it would come down to stats and the level they'd played for us at.... Kindo, 2 seasons in the 4th division wouldn't get a mention...

Kindon my favourite. Stewart the best. MouniƩ of 17/18 fooled me into thinking he was the best, but dirtied his ticket last season.

I was told what swung it was the chairman at the time bought Kindon a brand new car - may have been a Jetta, but could be wrong. The way he told it, he was poised to sign and came to watch us play. We won by 4+ goals. He didn't think we would need him after all, so he signed, quick sticks, before the offer was withdrawn. But he always was one for a good after dinner speech.

He came to visit our school in an orange Opel Mantra....could well have been that car...sticks in my mind 39 years later
