Someone please tell me Mooy looked back to his old self. The bald Xavi. He did. Very impressed. Head and shoulders (he doesn’t need it) above the midfield of both sides. I still believe he’s going, but will be absolutely delighted to be proved wrong.

My twopenneth: 1st half Bockhorn very poor, 2nd half very good O'Brien looks very promising, reminded me of a young Paul Scholes (mostly for the way he moved rather than his type of play but he can tackle much better than Scholes!) Koroma, too big a step up at the moment, maybe a loan would do him good? Elphick very vocal, excellent leadership but his legs have gone, not quite Hudson like, but a little late to several balls. Mooy, back to his best, peaking in pre-season at the right time. Grant, we need to keep him fit! Bacuna his normal giving the ball away sometimes too easily, combined with a beautiful ball for the goal. Can become a terrific player. Diakhabky Mbenza looks like he will terrify some championship defences, I think this player will have a far better season this year.
It took a while for us to get a grip on the game, & it certainly helped when their excellent No 11 went off, but a decent run out against some good players, bring on the season.
Before today, I thought we could finish anywhere in the table, now I feel confident that we can compete for a play off spot.

Thoroughly enjoyed it today. . Mooy changed the game, Hogg was off the pace. Herbert looked better as game went on. Bring on the 🐑. Did you nick that last line from one of the Taff clubs forums? Any one of 'em probably...

Wasnt sure what to expect today but was suprised how poor Montpellier were - league 2 at best. We were slow pedestian at time with norwal flair - going through the motions really

Montpellier report
THIS SATURDAY AFTERNOON THE MHSC DISPUTED ITS 4TH FRIENDLY GAME FROM THE INTERSESSION. HUDDERSFIELD IN ENGLAND HAS BEEN PLAYED BY MICHEL DER ZAKARIAN'S PLAYERS AFFECTING THE STEVE MOUNIÉ HTAFC (ABSENT DUE TO ITS LATE RETURN OF CAN) AND ISAAC MBENZA OUR TWO FORMER PAILLADINS.
It was the players of President Laurent Nicollin who made a better first period and it is logically that Laborde opened the mark on a Ferri service. Reduced to 10 while Savanier was out (injured), the Terriers equalized by Grant well thrown in front of Bertaud and who cleared before scoring in the goal. Let's remember the beautiful first half of Michel Der Zakarian's players.
Good old google translate!

Sorry, I missed off the winky thing 😉 I would have agreed that it was a hell of a gamble to bring Blockhorn in had Siewert not coached / managed him before. But Siewert knows him very well and is certain that he can make it with us - or as certain as he can be, as every transfer is a gamble. Siewert knows that if Blockhorn is a failure, then his judgement and job is on the line Fair play mate,I’m just not sure losing smith and replacing with Bockhorn is a sensible thing. It won’t make or break Jan though but imo he (jan) has a lot to prove. I agree, he does have a lot to prove. Clearly Smith either wasn't his style of player, or other factors came into it. There is risk introducing so many new players from lower levels, but if we keep the experience as well the blend will hopefully work. Not all of them will work out.....that's just the way it goes, but personally, I find it refreshing and from what I've seen so far I'm quite optimistic. I hope Jan is given some time to prove himself.

Thought Koroma was a bit better second half. O'Brien was better with Mooy as he needs ballplayers around him. Too similar to Hogg to start together in most games I would say. Both were often within five yards of eachother in the first half. Diakhaby makes very good runs and if he can start using his right foot, he will be a right handful. The key thing though was that there seems to be a confidence with the group and that was by far and away our biggest barrier to overcome after last season. We have a very difficult start and we may take a bit of time to become consistent, but there is plenty to be encouraged by. Bockhorn to make Right back his own before long as well. O'brien has a look of a young scholes about him. His tackling a bit rough, his time on the ball very good and his poise and body shape. If he turns out to be half as good he will be a cracker. I think he could well start against derby ☺

Then there is Stankovic who did ok in there last season and Daly who has plenty of potential too. Far stronger than when we were down here last time when we were very fortunate that Mooy and Hogg were fit for most of the season because the back up was weak

I read that and my jaw fell to the floor and the sky started to fall. Then I read the JK. It was like the Paddy Power kit reveal all over again.

He was the first Town player off the pitch, giving a clap with barely any eye contact as per normal. He’s a shy lad.

Maybe me and Uncle Paddy were right about the lad/lads all along 🤔🤣

I'll be gloating plenty come the end of the season when they've proved the doubters wrong. Although it'll take 50 goals and 30 assists each for some to ever like them

So Elphick's legs have gone and Koroma looks out of his depth. Shine a light.

So Elphick's legs have gone and Koroma looks out of his depth. Shine a light. Tbf Elphick did balls up a couple of times when he could've been more decisive but you could see why we bought him (not sure how him and Schinds will do together with no pace at all), Koroma might benefit from a loan as it's a big step up from Conference to newly relegated PL club but I like the look of him, although he reminds me, shapewise, of Cads

Mbenza has something and hopefully will show it on a regular basis. Diakhaby on the other hand I'm not so sure about but will be glad to be proved wrong.
