4-1 on tv. No fucking about, give Cocu and his new team the experience Palace had under De Boer. Showcase to the other teams and get the pundits pissing their pants after writing us off. Exactly how I see it, too. Let's produce a performance that leaves a stream of 2300+ Derby fans filing "O-mouthed" out of the stadium!

How on earth you can play Diakarby (who offers very little) and not have VLP in the team or on the bench is beyond me - having said this we should just about have enough to beat a Derby team that Adrian Durham thinks will get relegated. Not quite sure how you get to this. VLP who couldn’t get into Boros team Diakhaby looked ok in pre season and EVENTUALLY Showed some glimpses of class in the prem. not saying Diakhaby will tear the league apart but vlp has a lot to make up

Derby wont get relegated but i think we will do them on monday.UTT A really strong experienced Championship side against a poor Premier League side. Should be a close one. 1-1 all over it...

I work with a Derby fan who says that, since the play-offs, they've sold all of their best players, done nothing in preseason and expects us to beat them 4-0.
Make of that what you will.
Grabara Hadergjonaj | Schindler | Elphick | Kongolo Hogg | Bacuna | Mooy
That back 5 and midfield shouldn't give this Derby side a sniff of the ball or our goal.
Diakhaby | Grant | van la Parra
That front 3, IF we can dominate the ball and get Bacuna and Mooy forward to support them, should create havoc running into spaces between Derby's defence and get opportunities.
Confident that unless the stars align against us, we'll win this by 2 clear goals. I would absolutely love a 5-0 mauling victory to signify that we're the team to beat in a season where Leeds are amongst the bookies favourites for promotion.

They've made the odd decent signing to be fair. Matt Clarke and Kieran Dowell (a few on here wanted us to sign both of these), and particularly Krystian Bielik who's a very promising defensive midfielder. They've not replaced Harry Wilson yet, and still have a dodgy keeper in Roos. I think it'll be an interesting test for both sides, and I'm optimistic about town's chances.

This game will be a good barometer for the season ahead I think. Derby will be 'there or thereabouts' at the end of the season I reckon so our performance against them will tell us if we can realistically compete at the top end of the table this season. It'll be a measure too of JS's work through the closed season on getting the players on board, building morale and formulating a game plan that can succeed. I know it's just the first game, but there should be signs that we have ,or have not, got the ability to finish in the top 6. A win on Monday would be a perfect start and boost everyone's hopes...but even a good performance in a narrow defeat would be encouraging too. I'm away for this but will be glued to Sky TV with a few beers at hand...

I think will be a tight, nervous affair although I am hoping for a win.
I don't know much about Derbys squad in terms of pace, but I would be worried about the speed of our centre backs on the counter if we're playing the high press. I expect the front three to be RVLP, grant and Pritchard. But Diakhaby and/or Mbenza waiting to come on in the last 30 mins terrorize their tired defence

Only one line up for me as it stands
. Grabara Flo Schindler Elphick Kongolo . Hogg Bacuna . Moot Pritchard Grant. VLP
I just don't see what Diakhaby offers to be honest. Mbenza is above him in the pecking order for me.

Just had a quick peep at the Derby forum. They seem certain they’re going to beat us on Monday and a few of them mentioned about DATM calling us deluded because we think we can win. Yet a couple of them were saying that we don’t have very many quality players and according to them, they have a better squad than us quality wise. What a strange strange bunch 😂.

I can see their point, we were a poor PL team who got used to losing and haven't signed anyone they will have heard of. I'd probably fancy playing us first up too. Personally I've never been less sure of what the season will be like, the pre-season optimism may continue and we have an exciting, competitive side or if we start badly that losing habit could be hard to shake. Fingers crossed!

I work with a Derby fan who says that, since the play-offs, they've sold all of their best players TBF i thought the majority of Derby's best players last season were on loan (and not theirs to sell). Spent a lot of money in the last few days in the area they should have done many years ago - centre back. Might be a good time to play them. A good start seems essential to us for repairing the shattered confidence.

We appear, from pre-season performances, to have come out of that. I have no real idea how well we will do this season but I don't feel like we are knackered before we start, which is how I felt for a chunk of last season. We have some fire again. Looking forward to Monday.

"He who expecteth nothing is never disappointed", my Grandad was wont to say. Sage advice, I don't deny.
However, let's be up for it. Not nervous or trying to lose some non-scoring we cant win a game bullshit negativity. I think we can blow Derby away. Beat QPR, get on the front foot and get this season off to a flier.
Come on you Terriers, on the pitch and off it. We can do this. Let's go.

This isn’t a new team 80% of last seasons quitters are still here.A couple of conference and L2 players aren’t going to help that.To me this is a must win game, win and we could fly on confidence, lose and last season could happen again.
