Football results are generally decided by fine lines. Having read a few of Saturday's reports, it sounds like some of the results went against the team that had the vast majority of play, in-line with this.
If I was a neutral, I'd see a Town win as the most likely result, but would probably see the value in Derby at 27/10.

What is our pattern of play- attacking approach under Jan? What’s gonna be our main way to score a goal?
Have we got any idea on lineup? Mooy will be playing won’t he?
Where will Diakhaby and Mbenza play? Up front in a 3 or wide midfield positions ?
Is VLP genuinely back in the running for selection?
Reading through the posts it appears Hadergonaj is still around and worse people have him starting at right back. He doesn’t understand the basics of defending. The drop in the divisions isn’t going to hide that fact imo. Surely we’ve signed people to play there instead of him?

Grabara Flo Elphick Schindler Kongolo Hogg Mooy Bacuna Diakhaby Grant Pritchard Schofield, Bockhorn, Stankovic, Brown, VLP, Mbenza, Koroma I think that will be the 11 starters. The bench is probably close to what it will be (I'm assuming it's Reece Brown), however Coleman, O'Brien, Quaner and even Mounié could also figure. I still think we're a left back short, unless Jaden Brown 'steps up to the plate'. I'd also sacrifice either Quaner or Mounié for another proven goalscorer who is also good in the air.

Going to be a few unhappy players across the season but i guess competition is only healthy and should make players who are not picked kick on. My team missed out Coleman, O'Brien, Quaner, Mounie, Kachunga but i expect them to chop and change as season goes on.

i honestly think we can win this game comfortably tonight, Bogle and Malone often get caught out of position due to their attacking nature, with our pace down the wings we hopefully can take advantage of this. Derby don't have Mount, Wilson and Tomori anymore and have Marriott and Holmes on their injury list. A midfield 3 of Bacuna, Hogg and Mooy should be able to control the game and with Grants pace up top against Keogh i fancy our chances, From what i saw of Keogh last season, he is the least composed of the back 4 and when people close him down he often makes mistakes.
UTT!

I have a nervous anticipation about tomorrow. Mainly revolving around wondering if the fat smelly bloke who sat next to me all last season renewed for this year. Yeah sorry mate, I have. A few have claimed to be said person, as yet no row/seat numbers have been disclosed!... but I am being deadly serious. After having a nice empty seat next to me for the promotion season I was joined for the 2 years in the Prem by what can only be described as an oaf who stinks of a blend of piss and lager, with a bit of gravy usually dribbling down his chin. He arrives just after kickoff, making everyone on the row stand up which also leaves me wondering/hoping if he'll be a no-show. The man is as wide as he is tall and spreads his legs more than Pamela Anderson.

I've moved into the upper tier for this season so I've spent the close season practicing how to be a grumpy old bastard. Didn't take much.

If Mooy is on the bench tonight, my heart will sink. Would either mean he is on his way or, worse than that, JS thinks he can do it without him. For me, any chance of top 6 depends on Mooy staying and being the fulcrum of the side again

Grabara Flo Elphick Schindler Kongolo Hogg Mooy Bacuna Diakhaby Grant Pritchard Schofield, Bockhorn, Stankovic, Brown, VLP, Mbenza, Koroma Looks good to me although I reckon the right wing spot is up for grabs and i'd like to see Kacha on the bench at least, guess it depends who's been doing the business in training. I might be tempted to start Mbenza and Diakhaby from the bench initially although looking forward to seeing what they can do at this level.

However you carve the squad up we can put out a very competitive line up for this level.
Lets get off to a flyer tonight, keep the squad intact come next week & we could be onto something special again.

I thought we were quite poor pre Mooy although admittedly it was wasn't what we'd class as a first 11.

Interesting that some are still concerned with us signing players, yet Mouine, Kachunga, Quaner and O'Brien can count themselves unlucky (given pre-season) not to at least make the bench in most peoples sides.

Trying to fit the big, fat smelly bloke into our attacking options is a tough one. Nobody is gonna want him on the bench. I can see him 'doing a job' preparing the away dressing room though? Wiping himself on the shirts on this warmish day is a positive 'tactic'? As for Derby then Keogh needs chasing and the full backs will spend long periods way out of position. Maybe the fat bloke could just 'waft' himself at any Derby player taking a throw or a corner,?
