I hope that includes Lincoln so only 8 more Championship defeats. Things might still be redeemable.

If we lose our first 4 games, Hudson will be given the chance to make it permanent. There is a good chance we will lose them too.

I said/wrote when we appointed jan that it was a dreadful decision. No way could he save us.
All that could really happen is that he’d start this season under massive pressure from day one
Fans on his back. It’s a chuffing disaster. QPR Saturday is huge
For me he has to forget this 4-3-3 formation. Great for Liverpool and citeh but we simply don’t have the quality to play it
Derby found it so easy to play out through the flanks
Second half once we made changes we were totally lopsided. Only flo and Kacha on the right hand side

He’s got 5 bonefide premier league players. Those old excuses of budget won’t wash. Has he? Which 5 are genuine Premier League player? Mooy? Kongolo? Perhaps Schindler? If you think 5 please let me have some of what you’re taking! Don’t underestimate the impact of Wagner. If any average manager was in charge the season we got promoted we’d have finished mid table at best Hogg & Bacuna coped well against most in the league above- Hogg both seasons. Grant is a premier league player. Would score goals to keep struggling teams up. I’m shocked no one’s been in for him yet.

I actually think he should tender his resignation like Mark Robbins had the decency to do. For me that start was every bit as bad as his. Same result. Could’ve been more. I think we had more chances in that match against Brentford wasn’t it? After what we had to sit through last season and they go and start at home, on Sky, like that. Fucking disgrace tbh. It was like a players making a statement AGAINST the manager. A protest performance. How can Phil sit through that and say anything positive. Unless he’s already resigned to mid table mediocrity or mere survival which would be more in line with the nosies and spending from the club to date. How could it have been more, they scored all their chances, our keeper had one save to make. Nevermind the foul on Bacuna in the build up to a goal and Waghorn being stood offside in front of the keeper for the other

I'm still 100% behind Jan.... but if Phil bullets him them Phil would go up in my estimation and I wouldn't lose any sleep over Jan.

It's slightly worrying when a team with Malone and Keogh come and beat us first game of the season.
Jan said in the build up to the game that he knew what Cocu's tactics were... Why were we so poor in the first half then ?

All these knee-jerk reactions will be keeping physiotherapists in business at least.

That said I thought they looked a decent championship side and no more. 11 pretty anonymous players whereas I still feel we have several who can give so much more. Alas not under this manager it seems.

True but I guess I really thought with the pace in our team we would run straight through them tonight... Diakhaby started that way but gradually drifted in field and out of the game.

Poetic license there Doc. They beat a failing leeds side who’d run out of steam and who are serial play off bottlers. As ever I admire your staunch positivity but I think it’s too late for Jan. He doesn’t have them playing for him. I’m not sure they even know what they’re meant to be doing. Several protest like performances today. Poor old Pritchard stuck out there in the wing.

All these knee-jerk reactions will be keeping physiotherapists in business at least. 17 games plus friendlies is not knee jerk. Now if we’d come out all guns blazing with a clear attacking style and resolute focused defence then may be. However, after a long pre season we came out same as every game under Jan. Lacking energy, lacking ideas, lacking leadership, purpose and belief. The players don’t respect a 36 year old who’s played 4th division German football and they’re not playing for him.

Absolutely not one jot of evidence pointing to YOUR so-clled protest performance! Did Elphick make the error on purpose? Did Schindler and Kachunga miss on purpose? If it was a protest performance Grant would surely have missed the penalty! IMO you are talking bollocks re. YOUR clear anti Jan agenda! I have no problem with anyone saying they don't think Jan is up to the job but inventing things like players giving protest performances is just pure fiction and therefore lends no credence to your argument.

It still appears to me that there are some players who don’t want to play for him.
Half expect Mooy to be gone by next week tbh.

I’m a number 10 my whole career. It’s the only position I can play but I’m really good at it in this league. I was sold for £10M because I was so good playing there. It wouldn’t actually surprise me if Jan had never even seen him play for Norwich. Too arrogant for any of that.

It’s very clear to me that Mooy and Hogg and Schindler are pale imitations of themselves under Jan. The guy is totally uninspiring. Players out of position. Unclear what our strategy is. To play that poorly against opposition who were a massive step down from even an Everton or a Saints was beyond your normal poor performance. There’s more to it than that. Perhaps protest is a poor choice of words but that’s my meaning and I stand by it. I’ll remind you this is the same group of players who voted a player ostracised by the manger as player of the season. That vote was telling as it was as much an anti Jan vote as a pro billing one imo. Edit. I said ‘protest like’ as in so poor as to suggest there’s ulteria motive..or not being behind the manager.

To me, there seems to be two distinct bodies of opinion. Sack immediately or give him month or two. Neither are endorsements; nobody is saying give him the season. Worrying times.

That's a valid point but can you indicate anyone who has faith in Jan? And three players pulled out of five challenges tonight. That is NOT playing for the manager and is unacceptable.

I have seen not a single scrap of evidence that Jan will turn things round so the longer we stick the further behind we fall. A fresh man, fresh ideas.. Kongo/Schindler Mooy/Hogg Pritchard/Grant is a top 6 spine in this league. Build around that with some loans or late buys. It’s a big ask but I really can’t see us being in a worse position in 10, 20 or 39 games than if we stay with Jan.

I’d have got rid in May - and my posts will show I’m typically loyal with managers- I even stuck up for Powell after he got sacked
I just don’t see a promotion winning manager in there with JS - not just this season I mean ever. I don’t think he has it in him
Obviously I hope I’m wrong and he delivers at town but literally I’ve seen nothing to suggest he’s more than a youth team coach out of his depth
9 of the starting 11 he’s worked with for 6 months and there’s little sign of a style or players kicking on. In contrast Derby’s new guy has more signs of a team in a month (and that’s with big change there over the summer)
If elphicks handball had been given we’d have been 3 down inside 25 mins
I’d give him until the first international break- he’s had preseason now - but he quickly needs to show he’s able to manage a professional men’s side in one of the most competitive leagues in europe

Needless to say I disagree. These are your opinions and I have differing ones. IMO Poor performances are not protest like ones. Do you think every team's poor performance is some sort of protest at the manager or maybe, just maybe it is just that, a poor performance? You state that Jan is a totally uninspiring - it is hardly a proven fact I can dispute and whom to for instance. I honestly think you are looking for things to support/justify your obvious agenda, which is your prerogative but saying they are protest-like IMO is ridiculous!
