From QPR to Reading they have 5 games in 14 days. It would be madness to play anything but a second string tonight. I take the point but I think building some semblance of confidence to carry into league games takes priority whilst looking so poor. A loss tonight just keeps us on our downward trajectory and is a hammer to morale. Play a completely untested set of players who've never played together competitively and it will be a loss if Lincoln play the majority of their first team. Lincoln will play the stiffs as well |

He's already announced Schofield is playing . True, but this still remains the team I'd pick not what I believe Jan will pick. I most certainly wouldn't, not with a far more lmportant (imo) game on Friday. |

I try not to swear too much when posting but I can't help it now... What the fuck is Siewert playing at, VLP can't make the second string team now. He has been named as a sub. How is he supposed to get game fitness.
It's clear the club are trying to force VLP out.

My reading of that selection is that Bacuna has effectively been dropped to the reserves. A play off between him, Chalobah and Brown to claim a spot alongside Hogg and O'Brien.
Kachunga playing as a central striker?

If they were trying to freeze VLP out he wouldn’t even be in the squad. The manager knows what he can do and what his limitations are, so time to give the newer boys (our future) a chance and find out more about them in a match situation. Bring VLP on later if he needs to build his game time up.

7 debuts, is this a record? Possibly. It's basically an U-23 side (with Kachunga 27, Bockhorn 24 and Stankovic 25 the oldest). One of the youngest Town teams I can remember in a competetive match! Edit: Average age of 22. Think the Young Guns' team would be struggling to beat that. |
