For me we win with our strongest team and lose if, as expected, we put out a second string.

We'll win it with our second string.

I think it's difficult to say what our 1st string is at present . Id like to see Mbenza , VLP, Reece Brown and Josh Koroma all involved personally

Can see us going Schofield Bockhorn Schindler Stankovic Brown Chabolah Brown. Bacuna Kachunga Mounie Mbenza
Can also see us losing. If Lincoln put out their strongest team then I fear for us. We may be better man for man but they know how to win games and we don’t have a clue.

Lincoln have said they'll be making lots of changes to their team who played on saturday - surely our reserves are better than Lincoln's!

This will be a second string game I reckon:
Coleman Bockhorn Stankovic Edmonds J Brown R Brown Chalobah Daly Mbenza Mounié RVLP
If RVLP / Mbenza / Mounié don't get a game here then Siewert should have sold him in the summer.
I really think this highlights just how paper thin our squad actually is. When you think about it, our second string is pretty much a youth team, rather than even a reserve team.

Schoffield will be in goal, but other than that it will probably be the team. There's only J.Brown, Daly and Edmonds that 'youth team' players, the rest of them have decent 1st team experience. The subs bench could be interesting, if Grant is on there then Sievert is worried 😉

Expect a win, but thinking it will also have a couple of twists & turns, just a goal in it.
Hope I'm wrong and we win comfortably though...

Can see us going Schofield Bockhorn Schindler Stankovic Brown Chabolah Brown. Bacuna Kachunga Mounie VLP (maybe Koroma if he has fallen out with VLP) Can also see us losing. If Lincoln put out their strongest team then I fear for us. We may be better man for man but they know how to win games and we don’t have a clue. Would be happy to see that line up. However I think he'll replace Kachunga with Quaner since he rates Kachunga as his first sub in the other games. And if we must keep Quaner, he needs game time so let's make that in the cup games. What will be interesting is Lincoln's line up. They are doing well in L1 so will they play their second string, or go with a better team to try to take the scalp of an ex-prem team (ex-prem on paper).

Lincoln have said they'll be making lots of changes to their team who played on saturday - surely our reserves are better than Lincoln's! Sure; but I think that it will come down to desire. In previous seasons we haven't shown a lot of interest in progressing in this competition. My view is that we should put out a strong side with instructions to play full-out to get a win that will start building confidence. I doubt, though, that we will!

What's happened to Sabiri anyway? This would be an ideal time to show us he's the CAM answer

This is the perfect opportunity to get the first team some of that winning mentality. If he opts for the second string when the first team are struggling to score in open play, then he is not the right guy for the job imho.
If I were PH i would not be giving JS transfer funds either unless he can prove he can get this (so called) £100m squad to perform in the Championship.

It’s a squad game and we don’t want needless injuries against clobbers from the league below. Second string should have plenty in the tank and many will be pushing for starts given how midfield and front three played at the weekend. Strong bench if we need it.

How is he expected to do that if he doesn't play the guys such as Bockhorn that were signed under his tenancy? Far too early to say who is or isn't a 'first team player'.

We don't win cup games.
Although '68 was an exception... Wolves (h) 1-0 Dobson, Norwich (a) 1-0 Nicholson, West Ham (h) 2-0 Worthington, Cattlin, Fulham (a) 1-1 Worthlngton, Fulham (h) 2-1 Nicholson, Shaw.
Lost to Arsenal in the semi 3-6 on aggregate. Dobson, Cherry, Leighton.

The games are coming thick and fast buddy, don't want burn out this early on in my eyes If Sabiri is still at the club I'd like to see him play again. I remember him looking really good in last season's preseason. He could do well in the championship

Have you lot watched Huddersfield Town before? Our record in this competition is beyond abysmal, especially when playing teams in a lower division.
Comfortable Lincoln win.

A good win for the first team against Lincoln could give the the lift they need to perform well on Friday against Fulham. A defeat against the second string will just continue the negative vib and will not help lift the fans. I do agree you wouldn’t normally do that with a game on Friday, but we are at the start of the season so fitness should not be a problem. Plenty of time to rest players as we go forward. As I said just my opinion.

Exactly, I’m not classing new signing as second string. I’m just against wholesale changes in this match.

Isn't it time we wiped the slate clean with all players right now. Start again.
We need as much quality as we can get and I don't like how so many players have been side lined for non-football reasons... It's quite simply gone on too long and it is hurting us.
