Could be one or two that we have slightly 'loved up' memories of, if it wasn't about DAve I apologise.

There was once a manager who instilled a great identity and philosophy, before #nolimits a simple philosophy which needs to return "BE PROUD AND HONOURED TO WEAR THE SHIRT" I don't think said manager would return, and maybe his time is long past but can't help but think we could do a lot worse Mick Buxton is a bit old now isn't he?

The way things seem to be going in terms of cost cutting it wouldn't surprise me if they told Hudson he could have a go until Xmas and if it didn't work out look for someone else then before the Jan window opens. We have a budget multiples bigger than any other we've had in the championship mate.. don't let datm spin get in the way of the facts Its one thing having it and another spending it though.

Honestly, the club have a difficult task in finding a new manager.
Mark Hudson 11/8, Chris Hughton 5/2, Sol Campbell 4/1, Nigel Adkins 6/1, Gary Rowett 12/1, Colin Bell 16/1, Garry Monk 16/1, Daniel Stendel 18/1, Simon Grayson 20/1, Danny Cowley 22/1.

Just had to Google him. Same age as Siewert, done nowt in his career to garner respect from the players, sacked from his first managerial job for poor results which ended in relegation. Other than being at Ostersunds with Webb I can't see any reason to consider him

The way Cardiff have started, if we get a result this week Colin could be available before we appoint a new manager. Haha.

Are we now just picking out random foreign coaches to stick on the list? Managers/coaches with zero chance of appointment? Mind you, that's pretty much what the last guy was...

Might be finding someone who 'wants' to come here now ?
The list might be 'shorter' than some believe?
The Lincoln lads have coped with going up a division on a fairly regular basis and we might fit their 'career path' plan, although they might believe they can get Lincoln in the championship before leaving?
Adkins or Rowett might take the job.
We have too big a wage bill for this division and too many games left for big Sam. We might look too difficult for him to just do 'enough'?

Well I don't think PH is asset stripping the club. So yes I'm sure he will have a plan and he will have ambition. Time will tell as you say but fans posting stupidity on social message sites and screaming abuse at him from the stands is bang out of order. He's only been in post about 6 weeks Totally agree....sadly the mob mentality knows no other way to vent their spleen. the reason they act that way is becausethey havnt the football intelligent to have a reasoned debate. they just f and blind.who ever we appoint will need the backing of every one wether its our own choice or not.

High odds but Giovanni van Bronckhorst at 25/1 would be a real statement of intent.
Done a good job with Feyenoord over the years.

If the new director of football can see potential improvements and with a a new manager hopefully not too far away the timing should be right that by the time January window rolls round we might have a clear plan and the means to make it happen. If the new coach can get the best out of the current squad and get some momentum going before we further strengthen after xmas then all the better.

I'd be happy with Hughton although I'm not convinced that he would be interested in the job. I thinks he is now 62 years old, he'd more than likely have to move his family or only be in Huddersfield 2 or 3 days a week like Powell and I wouldn't have thought that he would be financially insecure and be in need of a job. That said he might have the desire to take on one more challenge - and it would certainly be that with the current crop of players. I see it more likely to be Adkins, local to the area and has worked with Webb before - someone posted on another thread that their hope would be the Adkins of Scunthorpe and Southampton and not Reading! Whoever it is surely it has to be someone with Championship experience and an understanding of how to man manage and get the best from the players. Interesting times ahead.

Chris Hughton or Danny Cowley for me. Hughton's record speaks for itself. Cowley is one of the best emerging managerial talents in the game, reminds me of Warnock in so much as his CV has promotion, promotion, promotion written all over it. Town need to get in there before one of the big boys take him.

Hughton's 60 and at that age he's unlikely to have to consider moving a young family up here. He's also previously managed Newcastle so he's not stranger to the north. With £20m of unspent transfer fees in the bank/due to us and no compo to pay out, its about time we showed some ambition. The time for rookies is over (for now). Wagner worked, Siewert didn't and Hudson has been part of an unsuccessful set up since last summer.
