I disagree totally, it ended up putting more smiles on faces at the time than anything else that's happened in the last 12 months at my club. If you can't take a joke..... PS. I guarantee there will be no points deduction, unless that was your idea of humour. If you place a bigger emphasis on playing practical jokes with a bookie rather than focusing on actual football matters, then ultimately the club gets hurt. Not getting rid of a guy in May who was completely out his depth and not recruiting correctly whatsoever was the joke, albeit now, a rather cruel joke What on earth are you talking about? The commercial side of the club is a separate thing from team affairs and management. Sean Jarvis is absolutely brilliant at what he does and shouldn't be held responsible for where we are today on the football side.

The jokes, the promotional shite was all backed up by Big Phil at the Odeon as blatantly shown through slide shows on the cinema screen. Far too much emphasis as a club was put on the said commercial side, our branding, changing the badge.....again and who "we are" as a club rather than the most important part. ......the football on the pitch. The commercial side should never ever sit at the top table. A question for you. As a club that is comparable to us, do you see Burnley pissing about ?

We spent about £9m this summer. Spending money isn;t automatically the answer. Its what you spend money on. Weve spent money ( shit loads of it ) on all sorts of players who get constantly slated on here as being utterly crap and a complete waste of money. They were all over the pitch at cardiff. Tens of millions of pounds worth of them. Should we have done more of that? Or maybe wait until we have different people sourcing the players before we start spending whatever money we have? Dean came in and spent money on a side valued collectively at £45k when it was eventually sold on. In League 1 £0.5m bought you practically the best player in the division. Its really not a fair comparison. When did we turn into Sheff weds? Or Leeds? " We're massive and should have an billionaire oligarch running us!" The vast majority on a player we were obligated to sign, the money will have already been set aside for that. Forget Mbenza (and I wish we really could) and we’ve spent under one million, that’s a fucking disgrace for a club that’s come down from the richest league in the world. Listen i agree the amount we spent was very disappointing. But firstly you can't just set aside the big £8m we paid for Mbenza like it didn;t happen. And secondly, i do strongly suspect the amount we spent could well have been a reflection of the trust, or lack of it, in the people we had who were responsible for WHO we signed. If they keep buying shit, and not just shit but extremely expensive shit, then would you give them another £20m so they can saddle you with some more extremely expensive shit? I wouldn't. The owners are not without blame for that because a competent DOF should have been in place long ago, but regardless that was the situation we had this summer. I guess the proof of my theory here is what we do in january and next summer. With a competent manager we have plenty enough to be comfortable at this level IMO in the meantime. It does tie in with what Phil was saying in his interviews though.

Burnleys Q&A isn't the point but it definitely interests me to see what you can have achieve on the pitch with no pissing about behind the scenes and no commercial bullshit. Thats all taken care of by making sure they have a rock solid foundation from a footballing aspect. We are not Man U, Liverpool or Barca, we are not a global brand. Playing tinpot stunts, branding, re branding and branding after that doesn't pick you 3 pts up. A laugh and a "joke" comes after winning games of football

Two months into the job and he's receiving dogs abuse and even has a new name 'potless Phil' - with absolutely no substance or facts behind it. Imagine if DH got the same abuse and walked 10 years ago ? Let him get on with it and judge him by season end.
Give Us An 'S'.....Spotless Phil is born!

I think it's being used as a stick to beat PH with. You really believe without Paddy Powers involvement we would be even one point better than where we are now because I don't. Anyway for those interested Burnley now have a three year deal with a betting company ON their shirts.

I reckon that some people need to be very careful about posting scurrilous accusations or rumours regarding PH. Some of the stuff is going way beyond merry banter.

I thought he had explained how most of the parachute payments had already been allocated? It might not be what we want hear but it's not 'hiding' is it? Dean Hoyle did not turn things round overnight. Have to reset our patience along with expectations by look of things.

I reckon that some people need to be very careful about posting scurrilous accusations or rumours regarding PH. Some of the stuff is going way beyond merry banter. Seems to be even worse on Facebook. Dean seems to have talked him into taking over a poisoned chalice and he's just doing the best he can to sort it. He inherited a terrible manager, overpaid unfit players (many who don't want to be here) and little or no money left in the pot after splurging out on those said players. About time a lot of folk took these facts into consideration.

Genuine question: has anybody ever got into trouble with litigious comments on DATM? I agree with you btw, it is now getting tiresome. Time for some to reign it in.

I don’t know, been a Town fan for 50 years but only on DATM for a couple. I recall that the “Odious Oystons” successfully sued someone on the Blackpool forum....they “probably” deserved the insults, but our PH has only just taken on the job and some comments are way out of order.

Only question I would like to ask PH is, Are you happy with the summer transfer window after saying it's the most important one in our history, and if it was why didn't you spend any money?

Imo he needs to Do an Odeon film part two, Tell us exactly what is going on, Why didnt we sign decent players ? How on earth can approx 240 million go in two years ? Especially when transfers are paid over the duration of the contracts. Still not sure how we made 23m profit ??

A drinking buddy of my uncle's friend has it on good authority that Phil is a CIA asset. And he is really a Leeds fan!

Does it take you a long time to think some of this crap up? Its almost as if think its impossible to make 2 decisions in the same day. You probably think PH was up all night sorting the slides out on a dodgy version of paintshop. Get a grip

He did tell us , you either chose not to listen, or did you find it too difficult to understand Im not stupid ! Just find it really really implausible What bit do you find it implausable? that in year 1, our wage bill was £60m (it was in the accounts) Assuming it was similar in year 2, thats £120m + Or that roughly £100m was spent/ committed on wages, agents fees etc. Add in £5 m on stadium improvements and £20m on Canalside.what total have you got? Wage bill of £60m reduced by 40% still leaves a bill of 3 times what it was 3 years ago which will be coverered by year 1 parachute payments. All this was explained ......its not hard to understand.
