I’ve been watching Town week in week out since 1970 and every time we have lost it has hurt and sometimes ruined the rest of the weekend but today was different - like so many posters on this thread today I just didn’t feel bothered at all! It’s a strange feeling and one I’m not sure that I like - for me so many poor decisions have been made from the recruitment to the appointment of Jan and an apparent lack of effort from some players (not all) that I’ve begun to feel numb to it all. I think I might have just got used to losing and hope that when we eventually win the spark returns - Saturdays are just not the same!

Positive im not having a go at you but you said you rated siewert as a coach . He said pre.season we had to be the fittest team in the division . Hes made us the unfittest . Would you agree this is an absolute scandal of the higheat proportions ? Think i saw you at plumbers ted with your wolfhound. Xx Seeing as im north of aberdeen right now i think you need to get yourself down vision express

Been getting me down massively since last season. The other night is the first game I've missed when I could have made it at a push for as long as I remember, possibly ever.
It's self preservation. For me the fact it's all massively self inflicted is making it much worse than in previous bad times.
So very frustrating and coming after such highs amplifies it and makes you wonder why you bother.
After all if you achieve the unthinkable you end up back in the Championship without a pot to piss in two years later.

I went to Manchester Pride with my wife and young children today. It was lovely to feel part of something bigger than me and in a really strange way reminded me why I love being a football supporter (and yes, I know, I obviously wasn’t at the game).
I posted recently about falling out of love with the game, and I have, but I haven’t fallen out of love with the club itself. Obviously, I want the team to be winning, but if they’re not, so be it. Prem was great from the point of view of the ground being full, great atmosphere, etc, but it wasn’t that that attracted me to supporting town in the first place (first game late eighties), and it’s not something that will define my support in the future. There’s definitely a feeling of opportunities missed with town over the last few years but so be it. Am sure every fan of clubs outside the top 6 have a hard luck story of what could have been and town are adding to that now.
Am starting to realise now more than ever that football is just a game.

Bolton had their lowest ever home crowd today. The same team who had fans rallying round a few weeks ago, so glad that their team was still in existence. Two 5 0 defeats put paid to that support and a third defeat by the same score today won’t have helped.
The moral of the story is that supporters will only take so much, and then they leave. In droves. See, it’s not just Town fans

From the highs of promotion and 1st year PL survival whilst experiencing the electric atmosphere in the stadium and close bond between the club and the fans. To the last 18 months, sleepwalking, Wagner leaving, bad appointment after bad appointment , bad signing after bad signing, 3 window transition, no apparent ambition and now reading speculation that we could be interested in the Cowley brothers.! I’m starting to feel numb with it all. I’m grateful that at least for the 1st half the stadium felt alive again!

If the club are reading this they should be really worried about the rampant apathy amongst the fans.

Just think of those fans that stopped going when Powell was gaffer then moaned like fuck when they couldn't get a ticket for Old Trafford. "Fuck em" I thought.
Similar now.
On to Luton!

No bite tonight moon head I couldnt go today .. blessed relief . As you know i believe that the crowd should be up for 90 minutes support whatever the circumstsnces (then boo em off by all means ) BUT when i hear the interim manager say that the clubs players cant compete for over 65 minutes , bearing in mind we have the 5th or 6th highest budget, i AM ABSOLUTELY LIVID . Fuck em . Bomb em all out and play the kids till theyve manned up ... a fucking disgraxe from top to bottom . And anyone on the training side. Who has participated in this shambles , either unknowingly (they should know ) or by not whistleblowing .. p45s all round Like I said on another thread Ted, I watched the pre-season training sessions and everyone was just having a laugh. Playing football tennis and other farcical rubbish. There was absolutely no intensity. Everyone was just going through the motions having one big joke with each other. Like we were gonna breeze through this poxy league without having to make the slightest effort. And who was there having the biggest laugh: MH. Look I don't really blame him, he's a nice bloke, it's not in him to raise the tempo. It's just yet another thing the club's got wrong. And when one or two mistakes are made, that's ok if everything else is ok. But the whole fookin thing is a total shambles.

I live over in Ireland and really struggling to motivate myself to come over for a game atm, I was raring to go at the start of the season and was over for the Derby match with an air of positivity. Reasonably decent pre season, a fun and effective sponsor campaign with a nice shirt as a result. And a wad of cash from the sales of players who didn't want to be here, hoping for the club to reinvest. Hallmarks of a decent consolidation and rebuild campaign.
I'm still at a loss how it's gone so toxic in a just a few weeks. I can't see where our next win is coming from so it's a difficult sell to argue a return flight, commute, match ticket, hotel occasionally to watch us lose.

yes it can wear you down but performance today was much better but a lot to do and we will see who comes in I certainly don't frrl it will be internal but anything could happen Thing is positive, I don’t exactly live within walking distance of the ground. My choice, I get that, but I’m questioning more and more why I still do it. Totally understand , your support from so afar gets the respect of so many - hope you can hold on a bit longer and the club can give you and indeed us all a huge lift ..... without delay 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️

My season ticket remains unused. I used to travel up from Devon regularly but it is hard to motivate myself under the current circumstances. Not just the results but the apparent dysfunction within the club.

Not sure if anyone else feels the same but I’m so tired of losing that I am starting to detach emotionally. What I mean by this is I’m stopping caring as much what happens to us. This is what the club needs to be concerned about, it’s not the value of X,Y,Z it’s the enjoyment and engagement the fans take from attending matches. Really concerned we’re close to being in a position that no one will be able to turn round without a massive reset. I’m more than happy to accept the position we’re in the reasons for it etc... but the club needs to also accept that there has been some massive mismanagement and the fans are close to deserting in droves. 4 wins in 54 is more than most can cope with, I love the club but these are dire times. You're bang on. I saw the sun this morning and thought bollocks to going to watch that shite having not missed a home game in years. Daughter agreed so we had a lovely day helping the missus do some work in Todmorden then had the afternoon/early evening in hebden bridge with a few beers/meal and paddling in the river. Watched the scores on my phone. Predicted the result correctly in our very own prediction thread. Not giving up but not prepared to waste time watching shite!

This is the longest period of time since I've been to a game but just can't motivate myself to make the trip from the Toon, Last game I went to was the City game last season, wish I hadn't bothered re-newing now as it would just be a waste of money getting the train etc.
I wasn't one to give up in the Powell days but hopefully things will turn around soon

Not just the results but the apparent dysfunction within the club. Mine too. I live in Shelley so god help those long distance fans. Love town but hate football. Saw all this coming and said so in the mid nineties. For me it’s all about the social. Give me another month or so, summer has been too short after the last eighteen months. Had to turn match of the day off tonight because some woman is screeching on the Watford West Ham commentary. When is it going to end. Football as we knew it is dead.

I haven't lost my emotional attachment to the club. That loss today pissed me off as much as any of the countless other ones we've suffered over the past year or so.
I have become accustomed to losing - and not scoring - but I haven't lost my passion for the club. Only today my dad and I were discussing potential away trips.
I understand how some fans have become weary of continuously losing - I have too - but I haven't got to a stage where my emotional attachment to the club is waning. Town are my team through good times and the bad. Its tough at the moment - fuckin' tough - but I'm not bailing out now. I didn't in 2003 and I won't now.

It certainly does all seem to have an air of inevitability at the moment. Even though we did play well yesterday... every 10 mins that passed without us scoring was becoming a growing concern.
